Dealership met all my expectations when purchasing a 2022 Sentra. Expected to have to wait months but was able to get in 3 weeks. Car buying experience has changed from pre-pandemic times given supply limits so don’t expect much haggling. No surprises with the process and the finance manager saved us a few bucks and still matched what we wanted. More
After 45 years of owning vehicles I had the worst experience of my life with this service department, from the service person, service manager to the general manager. My 2016 Pathfinder was serviced experience of my life with this service department, from the service person, service manager to the general manager. My 2016 Pathfinder was serviced with an 100 point inspection and oil and lube where I emphasized the vehicle will be coming off of the powertrain warranty in a few months, thus go over the powertrain to ensure everything is up to par. They never found anything besides a few burnt out light bulbs. A few months later the vehicle had reached it's 5 years date of service but had only 80,000 km well under the 100,000 km limit but the time frame expired the factory powertrain warranty. With the vehicle at 80,000 KM I started to have rotational noise front the front right side. As I live outside of the city of Winnipeg I used my local certified mechanics to change out the right axle assembly and right wheel bearing as it seemed this was the problem. The rotational noise improved a bit but the certified mechanic indicated the transfer case had some rotational noise when they put it back up on the hoist after a road test. My local service centre recommended I take the vehicle that had just recently come off warranty to my Nissan Dealer to try and get some favourable warranty work to help with the transfer case replacement. I called Vickar Nissan as this were I had purchased my brand new Altima a few years prior when it was Ortynsky Nissan at the same location. All my Nissan in warranty service was done at this location and I was always satisfied with these folks, but now it was Vickar Nissan. When I called in and spoke with the service person and explained the problem and what was done for repairs up to this point to resolve the problem he assured me Vickar Nissan would do everything possible to get the repair done under warranty that had just expired. I had the vehicle towed in and met the same service person inside and explained again what was done for repairs up to this point to resolve the problem he assured me Vickar Nissan would do everything possible to get the repair done under warranty that had just expired. That is where the nightmare began, after doing $500.00 of work Vickar Nissan reneged on the service person's commitment saying that no warranty will be honoured due to my local certified mechanic replacing the axle assembly and wheel bearing a few days earlier which nullified any transfer case warranty. But then recommended I spend another $1000.00 to do some exploratory work to see if the transfer case was making the noise. The service manager and general manager treated me like a lying convicted felon and would not provide any goodwill warranty irregardless of my prior purchased new vehicle and/or what I was told twice by the service person once by phone and in person. They gave me an outrageous price for the transfer case replacement but could not guarantee this would resolve the problem. It was just a blitz of up-selling that I could not see a finish line. I also found the service bulletin issued by Nissan for replacing the seals in the transfer case due numerous problems due to a common failure, wow! After doing some research I had the transfer case replaced by a national wide transmission shop for thousands less then Vickar Nissan. No customer service experience at Vickar Nissan, a true real life nightmare... More
