You be the judge I am a 56 year old woman and drive a 2012 Subaru Impreza bought new, at Subaru-Montreal on September 18th 2012. In December 2014, with approximately I am a 56 year old woman and drive a 2012 Subaru Impreza bought new, at Subaru-Montreal on September 18th 2012. In December 2014, with approximately 1000 kms to go prior to my next oil change, the yellow light lights up. I pull into the next Canadian Tire and put in 1 litre of synthetic oil. I quickly get the car’s oil changed at my local garage, the same one I’ve been using for close to 30 years. The mechanic says there are no leaks but that it may be a good idea to get the motor checked by Subaru. I then make an appointment with Subaru-Montreal. The minute the clerk at the service counter enters my car into the computer, he realizes my oil changes were not made there. My keys have not yet left my hand that he asks for proof of oil change. Later that day, he leaves a message on my cell phone, again asking for proof of my oil changes. When I return to Subaru-Montreal, again they ask for the proof of oil changes since the car needs a motor job! I do not have the proof on me. I live an hour away but am convinced my local garage has records. No one at Subaru-Montreal seems surprised – I sure am – that a car, less than 2 ½ years old should require a motor job. I run into the Subaru-Montreal salesman who 2 years ago was keen to sell the wonderful Subaru motor who is not surprised either that this car should need ‘a motor job’. No one told me what the exact problem was. I insist they give me my car back so that I may get a second opinion. On January 5th, I went to Ogilvie Subaru in Ottawa. I had my proof of oil changes with me. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, except for too much oil in the motor which they drained for a total of 38$. So according to Subaru-Montreal, I need a motor job while according to Ogilvie Subaru (where I did not buy the car, much less have my service done) there is nothing wrong with my car. I will never deal with Subaru-Montreal again. More
Great experience we love the Outback as our family car, and since I had put a lot of mileage on the car in the three years, I was curious to see if a deal could be mad we love the Outback as our family car, and since I had put a lot of mileage on the car in the three years, I was curious to see if a deal could be made on an extended warranty. They gave me such a great deal on the car itself, that I left instead with a brand new car. Great experience. More
