Friendly and modern, but beware of upsells/wrong information Unfortunately I've had to downgrade my review - The dealership and general experience is great - but I've received 3 pieces of wrong information over Unfortunately I've had to downgrade my review - The dealership and general experience is great - but I've received 3 pieces of wrong information over the past year which makes me doubt the knowledge of the staff: First: I was told 16 inch rims would NOT fit my honda. Bottom line: I tested, they fit. With over an INCH of clearance. I'm assuming (hopefully falsely) that they do this as 17 inch winter rims and tires cost significantly more. Go Elsewhere for your tires. I went to Travale Tire on wentworth. Second: I was told I had to change my Manual transmission fluid (MTF) during EVERY oil change. I called xx on that one, and then the second opinion at the same dealership just said "whenever maintenance minder tells you to" Thing is... there is NO CODE for MTF replacement. I still don't have a believable answer for this, so I'll be doing it every 100k or 3 years, which is what I did with my 5 speed mazda3. Third: I was told that installing a bug deflector was a 30 minute ordeal involving 6 or so screws that clamp onto the hood, and was reversible to remove the bug deflector. I got it home, It was missing all instructions. I drove back to get the instructions. I brought it home again, and read the instructions. It requires drilling holes in the hood. Sanding, and repainting parts of the hood. Thankfully they were good about taking the parts back and giving me all my money back. I won't hesitate to purchase genuine honda parts from them again, but I'll make sure I know absolutely what i'm getting first! Overall, Its still an enjoyable experience - It just worries me about what maintenance/service they are selling to people who trust them to do honest, REQUIRED work to their cars. Proceed with caution, and get a second opinion, which is always sound advice when putting your hard earned money on the table. More

I have purchased many cars in my life and my experience with Sterling Honda is by far the most enjoyable experience I've ever had making a purchase. The customer service is fantastic. They care about your needs, wants, use for the vehicle and your budget in order to put you in the car that's right for you. The price you are told is the price that it is. there are no hidden nonsense fees that crop up at the final stage of the sale. They even gave us gifts when we took delivery of the car! My parents have purchased here and get both of their hondas serviced here and have had NO problems. This dealer is fantastic! p.s. deal with salesman named wade. best salesman ever. More

I generally choose to bring my car to a dealership as I do not know a lot about cars and feel that I can trust dealership's not to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. So, I heard a strange sound one day when I started my car and I continued to hear the sound over the next few days, so I made an appointment at the service department of Stirling Honda to have the noise looked at. I bring the vehicle in and my appointment is not even in the computer!! Anyways, the man at the service desk was nice and fit me in (even though I did have an appointment booked). I am advised to have a few different things fixed, so I get the items fixed. I leave the lot and the next day I hear the same noise again, obviously not fixed! Unfortunately I travel often for my job so I didn't have time to bring the car back in immediately. A couple of months later my car seizes and stops running at the side of the road. I have the car towed to a mechanic and I am told that my Air Conditioner Compressor and belt broke. The mechanic states that I should have heard a strange sound indicating that there was something wrong. This is true, I did. What is frustrating though is that I had brought the car in right away when I first had heard that sound, and Stirling Honda didn't even mention anything about the air conditioner compressor needing to be replaced. And when I left Honda the same sound that I had brought the car in for was still there!!! It gets worse!!!!! To top all of this off their appointment booking representatives have awful customer service. I called recently to book an appointment for a recall for my vehicle, as I was told that if I did not book one by a certain date the part would be returned. The gentleman that booked my appointment was very rude! When I called I explained I needed to book an appointment for a recall in my vehicle before the part was sent back, he laughed and then snapped "they would never send a part back". I continued to explain to him that I had received 2 voicemails from his dept. urging me to make my appointment or the part would be returned. He then states "Well so what do you want to do?".I was thinking ummmmm I want to book an appointment, hello??? That's what I indicated when I first called. I am highly disappointed. A friend of mine was recently in the market to purchase a Honda and asked me if I could recommend a particular place she should look. I said I had no recommendations for places to look but that I WOULD NOT recommend her to go to Stirling Honda, and explained my experiences. I will also be buying a new Honda in the next year and will not be going to Stirling Honda! This is the first review I've ever written as I am a pretty patient, understanding person but this whole situation has left me frustrated!!!! More
About 7 months ago I noticed a used Honda Accord EX V6 at Sterling Honda in Hamilton. I live just north of Barrie so it was quit a commute. I negotiated a price over the phone with Steve Dorman, arranged a day and time to come pick up the vehicle and inspect to ensure vehicle in good working order. The day prior to picking up the Honda Accord I noticed some bad reviews online about this dealership. I contacted Tony Reed General Sales Manager via email and expressed my concerns about these negative reviews. He explained to me that Sterling Honda tries to make every customer happy, and sometimes you can not please everyone, and some of the negative reviews were not brought to the dealerships attention to address. The following day I took the drive down to Hamilton and met Steve Dorman to take a look at the vehicle. It was in pristine condition and had been well cleaned, it looked to be in great shape and took it for a test drive everything went very well. There was one concern about one of the two key fobs not working properly. Steve promptly took it to service and had it fixed in minutes. I have now had the vehicle for approx. 7 months and just regular maintenance, very happy with the purchase. I would like to thank Sterling Honda for a pleasent car buying experience and would not hesitate to recommend to friends.
