Within minutes of my arrival, I met Rick and Joëlle and knew that I was dealing with a ‘we wish to assist you without any pressure’ attitude'. After three visits with Rick and Joëlle (interspersed with visits at competitors’ SUVs) where I had numerous questions about different additional options available for the 2018 XC 60 Hybrid (a most impressive ‘blow the competition out of the water’ SUV) and available financing options, I purchased my first Volvo, and first ‘non Lexus’ vehicle in over 15 years. Rick and Joëlle were friendly, actually quite funny and very knowledgeable about their products. This without doubt was the most pleasant vehicle purchase I have ever experienced. If Rick and Joëlle stick around, I will very likely be breaking my Lexus record for continuous purchases from the same manufacturer... More

In particular Mr. Messina who is truly an honest, down to earth and well experienced gentleman and he was of great help. After I got my car, the staffs are still available for help and to answer my questions. Overall, it was a good experience and worth it to try. Bye the way the car was great and fun to drive and this help in general forgetting the finance aspect/experience! More

Car developed a problem after a few weeks, and one of the issues is clearly part of the safety, which they were only willing to correct after me confronting them. However, the major issue they took no responsibility as their answer: E didn't touch that so we're not responsible... STAY AWAY!!!!! More
Extremely overpriced, not honest The dealer performed a major service on my 2008 Volvo XC70 early without authorizing them (according to the kilometer reading was supposed to be minor The dealer performed a major service on my 2008 Volvo XC70 early without authorizing them (according to the kilometer reading was supposed to be minor service) in an attempt to get more money from me. Called twice to speak to the manager and he did not call me back. When asked to replace defective parking sensor, quoted me >$400 for this (and 2.5 hours labour), which I refused. The same job was done at Volvo Hamilton for $117.95 total labour and sensor (30 minutes labour). The sensor costs $45. To fix a dent, then quoted $450 and then when we asked them again 2 months later they quoted $650, then when questioned, said they would "honour the former pricing". You can see they essentially charge whatever they feel they can get away with without consideration of the true time or labour, or parts and material involved. Incidentally, they also refused to give a loaner since I did not buy the car from them. I think this says all about them. Take your Volvo to Adria on Bank Street. More

It took 3 months for them to submit the required paper work that I had gone to their location to sign and leave a void cheque in one day. The lender had called many times to ask why the paper work still has not been submitted. Week after week month after month they were called and called by the lender to please courier the legal paper work so the lease could be activated and the monthly payments can be withdrawn from my bank account. Nope Mark and his merry clowns filed the paper work on the bottom of the desk and ignored the constant attempts from the Lender to provide. The outcome is that since I am 3 months behind in payments I had to cough up all owing in one big payment…Ouch. Please tell me why St Laurent Dodo’s does it take that long to simply put all the papers that I have signed into an envelope and mail it away. You have greatly inconvenienced me, I will not take my car to be serviced at your location, I will tell everyone about your Mickey Mouse service, you are a bunch of kids that know nothing about customer service and the fact that you lost a potential customer. Now that I have fallen in love with my Volvo (4 months) I am now getting rid of it and upgrading to the S80, but guess what…I won’t be buying it from your clown operation (sorry to the real clowns who put smiles are people’s faces) I should use the word ignorant Jerks. My money will be better spent at Carling Volvo. More

I returned it to the dealer t 2007 XC90 Sport The truck would make a “clunk” when doing a slow speed turn. This noise came from the rear of the car. I returned it to the dealer that I purchased it from (Donnelly’s Autoplex) and they agreed that something was amiss. They sent the truck to Carling Motors. Carling Motors could not find any fault codes so they said that they “could not reproduce customer complaint”. They told the dealership that I purchased the truck at that it was probably the rear differential. The truck went back to Donnelly’s. Carling Motors then said it could be the DEM pump that needed to be changed. The truck went back to Carling and had the DEM pump changed. Problem solved right? No...truck was still making the clunking noise in the back end. DEM pump was not the issue. Donnelly’s decides to take the truck to St. Laurent Volvo for a second opinion. St. Laurent Volvo says the AWD Haldex wet coupler needs to be replaced. The truck is returned to me “repaired”. This vehicle is my wife’s so it is a few days before I drive it again. I notice that the clunk is still there but it seems less pronounced so I assume it must be normal. I also notice that there is another noise coming from rear end of the car that was never there before; while running there is a whirring, cyclical pump noise coming from the new Haldex DEM pump. This concerns me so the next chance I get I drop by St. Laurent Volvo to have this looked at. I talked to the service manager (Sean) and he grabs the mechanic that worked on the car. The mechanic listens to the noise and tells me that it is normal. I am happy to hear that it is a “normal noise”.....While I was talking to the mechanic I mention that there was another issue that had been bothering me about the vehicle, some vibes during acceleration. The response I was given “normal. It is because of the 19” wheels the XC90 Sport come with.” I go away “happy” (exhausted with the whole thing) but there is a small nagging feeling in the back of my head about the cycling pump noise. One of the other families on my daughter’s hockey team has the same truck (3.2L AWD). The next time I see them I ask if their truck makes a constant cycling pump noise and would it be ok if I had a listen. I also ask if they have any clunking coming from the back end. No to both. No pump noise or clunk. I realise at this point that I have been lied to by St. Laurent Volvo. The truck is now at Adria Motors being repaired. Still awaiting the prognosis. The bottom line is that the cycling pump noise is not “normal” and the vibes during acceleration are more than like due to baked on grease on one of the front drive shafts (a common occurrence that was not “ known” by the Volvo certified tech at St.Laurent Volvo). Not certain yet but it appears that the Wet Coupler replacement job was botched as well. I will find out at the end of the day. So my question to St.Laurent Volvo (and to a lesser extent Carling Motors) is this: Are your Service advisors and mechanics incompetents or are they liars? Please advise me of the response to this question. Honesty and integrity appear to be abstract concepts to this organisation. Is this the corporate culture? More
