St James Volkswagen - Failed to remove transport bump stops during pre delivery inspection. Bought my 2018 Golf R new from St James Volkswagen 6 years ago & noticed from the beginning the car did not stops during pre delivery inspection. Bought my 2018 Golf R new from St James Volkswagen 6 years ago & noticed from the beginning the car did not handle bumps in the road very well (sounded like it was going to fall apart anytime I hit a dip in the road). This past week I took my car into Porsche centre Winnipeg as I noticed my front right suspension was making a noise. Upon inspection at Porsche they let me know that St James VW failed to remove the transport bump stops (which should be removed during the initial PDI when the car arrives) which led to my strut mount wearing out prematurely. I wish I could say I’m surprised, but based on my other experiences with them, it seems like carelessness & lack of detail seem to be a common theme at this dealership. Anyways, approach with caution. ❣️ - just a girl who is sick of being taken advantage of by dealerships StJames responded: “Hi Jasmine, the vehicle was purchased 6 years ago when you were also working at the dealership. During your time there, I am not sure if your concerns were brought to the attention of the Service Manager and the General Manager (it would have been highly recommended to do so so that the issue was not prolonged for 6 years) but both managers are no longer at St. James Volkswagen. The previous managers are now part of the group that the Porsche dealership is part of. They would be the best individuals to discuss the matter. Carelessness and lack of detail is something that is not part of our core values with the current management and staff. It's unfortunate that you have felt that you have been taken advantage of dealerships but we strive to ensure this is not the case with the current management team. We are glad that you were able to get the issue addressed and hope your vehicle continues to provide you the joy and performance that the Golf R is known for. - St James Volkswagen ” A couple issues I have with this 1. There IS a history of me bringing my car in to have the suspension looked at with St James, as early as a month into ownership of the vehicle. So to be unsure, shows you didn’t do your due diligence on the situation (it’s messy & lacking detail). 2. A general manager doesn’t perform a pre delivery inspection, the service department does. From what shows online the SAME service manager who would have been there for the PDI and all the issues after that is still there. Could have been a great person to connect with to find out more about the situation. Im starting to see a bit of a pattern of carelessness & no attention to detail… 3. Your old GM, Chris Moore doesn’t perform pre delivery inspections, nor would he be responsible for any issues once his employment has been severed with the company. So I fail to see how this wouldn’t be the responsibility of St James Volkswagen. 4. I wasn’t an employee at the time of purchase of the Golf R. However, I don’t know what being an employee has to do with bump stops not being taken out during a pre delivery inspection? Do you leave them on as an employee special?? Work for us and we will ensure your strut mounts wear out early! Deal of the century, come on down! Sign. Me. Up. Anyways, if you buy a car from any employee at st James Volkswagen, note that even if they no longer work for the company, they are personally responsible for any issue you have with your car for the rest of your ownership. ❤️🔥 (according to st James Volkswagen) Hope this helps, don’t get screwed over. The worst dealership I have ever been to. Going forward I will actively caution people away from this dealership. When given the suv to take for a 24 hour test drive it was actually unsafetied - all tires needed to be replaced - I was unaware of course when i left the dealership and drove my small children around. Either way I let it go, no one got hurt and people make mistakes. When it came to purchasing they of course say a price then it's different on paper - again, let it go I know that's part of purchasing a car. I was charged for nitrogen 100$ - a fee "they couldn't possibly remove" a week later my car tires were low, again whatever, I got them filled at a place closer to home. Now my AC doesn't work - I'm guessing never worked because by the time I tried it out it had been 2 months of owning the car. I called to see if they could use the extended warranty I bought, but waive the deductible because it likely didn't work when I bought it in the winter. I was told no by the salesman who sold it to me (Kirby). When I asked to speak to the used sale manager to explain the situation I was never called back, called again, not called back, left a message, never called back. Also, no one except a sales person will pick up the phone there - and a manager is always "busy". All this to say once they have the sale they don't care at all or even have the courtesy to be decent. They really live up to what you expect from a sleazy car dealership. Never ever go there! More

I just want to say that I had a very positive experience with the dealership. Without Mariana's professional help and going above and beyond her job, I would not have the truck that I have now. The one I was looking at sold, but Mariana knew what I wanted and just days later let me know she found one and brought it in.As I am in the north, we did the deal through email, when I got to the dealership, she met me we had everything done in less than an hour. Literally said us "you are not doing us a favour by buying from us" .we regret ever stopping by and making SABBIR hit our credit just to make a mess out of it. Jo if you see this find a better finance team/guy . Sabbir you're a big shame for your customer service ,your lies and tone of voice towards new clients.
