I saved for years to buy a reliable truck from what I thought was a reputable dealership. St. Albert Dodge saw an easy target and took full advantage. --- **What They Sold Me:** I purchased a used 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, trusting that their inspection process would ensure I was buying a dependable vehicle. Within weeks, the truth came out. **The truck burns oil at an alarming rate** - consuming approximately 0.74 liters per 1,000 kilometers. General Motors' own specification states that anything over 0.29 liters per 1,000 km is unacceptable. My truck is burning oil at more than double the manufacturer's maximum allowable rate. For context, I'm adding nearly a full quart of oil every 1,000 km. On my limited income, even the cost of constantly buying oil adds up. More importantly, this level of oil consumption indicates serious engine problems that don't develop overnight. **This issue existed before they sold me the truck. They either knew and hid it, or their inspection process is completely worthless.** --- **The Inspection They Didn't Do:** St. Albert Dodge's pre-delivery inspection somehow missed multiple obvious problems: The **serpentine belt was cracked and failing** - a safety issue they had actually recommended the previous owner replace not once, but twice. Instead of replacing the belt before selling me the truck, they sold it to me with a known bad part. When I discovered this, they grudgingly provided a replacement belt for free, but made me pay for the installation. They documented this problem twice for the previous owner. The **excessive oil consumption** should have been caught by any competent inspection. This isn't a problem that appears overnight. Either they didn't check, or they saw it and sold me the truck anyway. --- **The Warranty Trap:** As someone on a fixed income, I stretched my budget to purchase the Canadian Protection Plan extended warranty for peace of mind. It cost me money I could barely afford. It turned out to be completely worthless. When I reported the oil consumption problem: **The warranty company:** "We don't cover pre-existing conditions." **The dealership:** "There's nothing wrong with the truck." Think about that contradiction. If there's nothing wrong, why won't the warranty cover it? If it's a pre-existing condition, then St. Albert Dodge knowingly sold me a defective vehicle. I'm out the cost of a warranty that provides zero coverage when I actually need it. For someone on a fixed income, that's not just disappointing - it's financially devastating. --- **How They Treated a Disabled Customer:** When I kept reporting the oil consumption issue, here's how St. Albert Dodge "helped" me: **First,** their advice was to "just keep driving it, maybe the problem will go away." I'm disabled, living on a limited income, and they told me to keep driving a truck that's burning oil at an unacceptable rate and hope the problem magically fixes itself. That's not advice - that's them hoping I'd go away. **Then,** when I persisted, they offered to trade me into a different vehicle. Finally, I thought, they're going to make this right. **Their offer? $12,000 less than what I had paid them just weeks earlier.** They sold me a lemon, refused to fix it, and then tried to profit again by buying it back for a fraction of what I paid. They saw a disabled customer on a fixed income and decided to squeeze me twice. --- **What This Says About St. Albert Dodge:** They target vulnerable customers. I'm disabled and on a fixed income, and they saw an opportunity to make a sale regardless of the consequences for me. Their inspection process is either non-existent or deliberately ignoring problems to move inventory. The warranties they sell are designed to collect premiums, not pay claims. More

St Albert Dodge sold me a brand new vehicle with a Monroney Label that misrepresented the specification of the vehicle. If you purchased a ram 1500 Rebel, laramie and various other models between sept 2024 and March 2025 (the 2025 model) check your window sticker and see if it has front light animation and rear light animation and see if the vehicle has this. None of them do. They admit they misrepresented it and want to do nothing at all, blaming it on a printing error however it will be on your window sticker, build sheet, the advert for your vehicle and the official Stellantis FCA specification. They do not want to acknowledge the issues as it cannot be retrofitted. The cost of the correct lights is over 3k USD. Check it. I am pursuing this through AMVIC, BBB, the CIU and a small claims court. They misrepresented the vehicle provided. More

EDIT: due to my review, St Albert Dodge has cut ties with us and is refusing to fix the damage caused by their staff. Absolutely pathetic and shameful. I am completely fed up and done with St Albert Dodge us and is refusing to fix the damage caused by their staff. Absolutely pathetic and shameful. I am completely fed up and done with St Albert Dodge after being a loyal customer here, buying our last 3 vehicles from here. I ran into issues with my 2018 Dodge Durango last spring. We had the service department at St Albert replace my head gaskets. The job was not done properly after $5000 out of pocket repairs, so they had to redo the job the following December. We got the SUV back right before Christmas (on Christmas eve). The engine was shaking profusely and leaking coolant everywhere. Of course they were closed for the holidays and we were stuck with an unreliable, damaged SUV because the incompetent staff member couldn't even check over the job they did and rushed to get it back to us. We brought it back in after the holidays, they somewhat addressed the issue by fixing the leaking coolant, but the engine still sounded rough and was SHAKING. We brought it back in THREE more times (which of course was never documented) and kept telling us "it's fine" as the shaking progressively got worse. I brought my SUV back in last week to have the issues looked at, yet again. The service guy noticed the shaking immediately as well. My air conditioning has also been "hissing" since I got it back, which ALSO happened after the first time they replaced my head gaskets, and they were able to fix when I brought it back in that time. They told me this time they wouldn't be fixing the air conditioning because "it's fine" (even though I showed them proof of how they fixed it last time, yet they still refused to believe me and denied it) and told me the "engine mounts" are broken as well which was causing the shaking. They said "it wasn't their fault" because they "never went near that area" when replacing the head gaskets. So they said we would have to pay $1500 out of pocket to fix that now. We argued that the engine was fine until they touched it in December, and that they shaking started after that. They kept denying it. Said someone would call us about it, yet they never did end up calling. I don't trust them, so we brought the SUV to another shop to have the engine mounts repaired. The shop asked me why I would think it's the engine mounts. I told them the story. They said that seems HIGHLY UNLIKELY and unusual so they wanted to investigate it first. They took it for a road test and checked it out. The engine mounts are fine. There is damage with the pulleys from previous work, done by St Albert Dodge, exactly like we thought in the first place. So St albert dodge was going to charge us another $1500, out of pocket, to fix something that WASN'T EVEN BROKEN, while leaving the damage THEY caused to my engine. After all the other miscellaneous damage and problems they have already caused to my vehicle. I also want to add that after one of the many times their "mechanics" had my SUV, my key fob sensor (in my trunk - NO WHERE near where they were working) was mysteriously damaged, and they didn't even connect my windshield wipers back to the engine (which I found out while driving with my two young kids on a highway in freezing rain). They have zero regard for the safety of their customers. Their mechanics are incompetent and negligent. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I would give ZERO stars if I could. Thanks for completely damaging my vehicle that I trusted with your business and staff to fix. More
