Decent place to buy a used car I have purchased 2 used vehicles from this dealer over the last few years and my Father has purchased 3, in all cases we were treated with respect and I have purchased 2 used vehicles from this dealer over the last few years and my Father has purchased 3, in all cases we were treated with respect and given a fair price with fair financing. The Finance mangers are little stubborn when pushing extended warranties and other extras to tack on but they never crossed the line and always showed respect for me and my Father. I cannot speak about the service side because I never used them. More

After an hour of waiting the person from the service counter told me that the mechanics were in a meeting and they would be starting the oil change shortly. I asked them to call once the job was complete, and they never did. When I went to leave I found the plastic left on the seat and paper left on the floor mat. More
The Worst Kind of Old School Car Sales A deliberately "old school' sales experience where the salesman makes the visit all about price from the word go. I hadn't been on the lot for more th A deliberately "old school' sales experience where the salesman makes the visit all about price from the word go. I hadn't been on the lot for more than five minutes when the salesman came out and pressed me on what I wanted for my trade - I get that sales people need to qualify a prospect but this set things down poorly from the very start. They deliberately gave me an insultingly low ball price on my trade because I didn't tell them what I wanted for the trade - they used what in sales is called a "shock and awe" tactic to get a number out of me. I knew what my trade was worth because I have access to the same black book they receive every two weeks - they showed a trade value so low that it was only $9K more than dealers would give for the most dented up, rusted piece of crap a person could show up with on their lot. My car is a 2013 with 30000 KM on it. The car is immaculate. The book value is between 13 K on the low end and 15K on the high end. They said it was 11K. Jaw droppingly insulting service. I would recommend anyone to avoid this place. It is a plague-infested with bad customer service and insulting sales staff. More

Later I discovered that I could no longer open the front passenger door from the inside. After talking to the service adviser, he was unable or unwilling to offer an explanation of what happened, was unable to offer me a rental car while they fixed their mistake - I would have to wait a week or more for a courtesy car, and was just generally rude. I've rebooked the repair with another dealer in town, and will never set foot in Sherwood again. More
Very Disappointed I had brought my Envoy in because it was shaking violently. I decided to go with the option of replacing my engine with a used engine. I was aware of I had brought my Envoy in because it was shaking violently. I decided to go with the option of replacing my engine with a used engine. I was aware of the cost so I won't say I was mislead in that way, HOWEVER, when I picked up my vehicle and asked about taking the old engine home (my dad wanted it for parts) I had to stand there for 15 minutes while they tried to find an answer for me. I was told that the bin it was put in was dumped and they had "no idea" I wanted the engine. As professionals that is their job to ASK me and not make assumptions. They didn't reattach my command start. One of my biggest complaints is that this was almost $7000 by the time diagnosis and repairs were done and they couldn't be bothered to detail my vehicle for me. I get that it isnt a necessity, however, it sure would have helped with the sting of that bill. In speaking with friends, many have recieved a complimentary detailing when their bills were as low as $2000 at other places. When I asked my dad to speak to the service manager about this on my behalf, she hung up the phone on him. I am very disappointed in the quality of customer service and even more annoyed because I'm constantly getting emails from them about this event and that event aimed at customer appreciation. I would NEVER recommend this dealership to another person. I expect respect and a little bit of caring and none of this was shown to me. More
I was very impressed by every part of the service I received at Sherwood. The service advisors were great and kept me fully informed as (substantial) repairs were done on my car. The quote I received w received at Sherwood. The service advisors were great and kept me fully informed as (substantial) repairs were done on my car. The quote I received was exactly what I paid and everyone from the service manager to the mechanic listened to me when I told them what my issues and concerns were. After the nightmare of dealing with some service places in the city going to Sherwood was a very pleasant surprise. More

I purchased a 2012 Chev Cruze LT very end of April/early May 2013 and I have regretted it from the beginning. I had a deal lined up with Capital Pontiac in Regina for a Cruze LT silver with 29K and no c May 2013 and I have regretted it from the beginning. I had a deal lined up with Capital Pontiac in Regina for a Cruze LT silver with 29K and no connectivity package but stopped in at Sherwood Chev on my way out of time. BIG mistake! I had a bad experience there once before but they put me with a different salesman who turned out to be just as bad. He was pushing me to purchase a silver Cruze LT with connectivity package for the same price. I communicated to them several timess I don’t own a cell phone,MP3, Ipad and it doesn't make sense to buy a car with connectivity package. I was on the fence but leaning towards the car in Regina as it had lower km's even though I liked the LT interior a little better. The car at Sherwood had a lot of knicks and chips and a stone chip on the windshield too. Larry B said he would get that all fixed for me when he got it detailed. After I purchased the car, everyone asked if he was writing down on a piece of paper where all the nicks were; I said no. I thought his word would be good enough however his word means nothing. I advised Larry that I wanted to go for lunch and check my email to see if my friend was going to purchase my old car and think about it over lunch as I was hungry but he offered me his computer instead to keep me in the dealership and commented that Saturday is a busy day and the car could be gone if I wait too long. Typical salesman sales pitch. I should have known better as he kept in the dealership for hours but I realize now it was a stall tactic so that there would be no time to drive to Regina that Saturday as it was already after 1:30 pm and I had been there for almost 2.5 hours already. Against my better judgement, because it was too late to drive to Regina and my friend's son had committed to my car, I said I would go with this Cruze with the connectivity package but that I wanted them to check to see if there was one with lower KM. I put down the deposit and asked if it was refundable. Conveniently Larry got called away and I forgot to ask him that day. Capital Pontiac Regina advised in writing that they will refund my deposit. When I asked Larry about this on the Thursday night when I went back, he then said it wasn't Sherwood Chev's policy to refund deposits. Had he told me that when I was writing out the deposit cheque that Saturday, I would have walked out and drove to Capital in Regina. They will do anything to get the sale. They are vultures. I then expressed concerns again about the Cruze on Thursday morning when Larry called to see if I was still coming in. I explained I was really sick and mentioned a 4th time that it doesn’t make sense for me to purchase this car with connectivity when I own none of the gadgets and that the higher km bothered me. I asked Larry why he couldn't go on the GM website and bring in what I want. Larry kept saying the connectivity package is great for resale and once I purchased a cell phone, I would love it and kept reminding me he gave me a good price on the car. Bottom line Sherwood Chev didn't have what I wanted on your lot; Capital in Regina did. So Larry made promises that he broke, delayed responding to me, so he could get me back in the dealership and tell me No.I kept telling him that I want to buy a car because it is what I want but he kept reiterating I will never find a better deal, it's good for resale, etc. When I showed up Thursday after work at the dealership, 'I was very very sick and had contemplated pushing it out to Saturday but I knew my friend's son who purchased my car was anxious to pick up my car and I didn't Larry said he didn't have time to walk me through the car as his wife was going to a concert and had to leave soon. I again told Larry at his desk that I did not want this car and could he not go on the GM website and see if there is a car exactly what I want and bring it in. He said no and reiterated again how I got a good deal and he has the car all cleaned up for me (guilt trip) and then told me to sign a bunch of paperwork. To be totally honest, I was so sick I don't know what I signed; I just went by what he told me and I couldn't tell you what that was. I do remember him saying he would walk me through the car on Saturday as he had to run home to look after the kids so his wife could go to the concert. He also said I would not have to wait long to do the deal. As usual, I had to wait a long time in the waiting room and I was drinking water trying not to throw up as it turned out I had the flu with fever. I paid CASH for this car. No financing. They charged me a $400 admin fee, same as what they charge people for financing, and thought nothing of it. From asking my co-workers, it appears Sherwood Chev has the highest admin fee in the city and everyone said that is ridiculous for Sherwood Chev to charge me $400 for a cash deal. I asked them to refund my Admin fee. They said No. That night when I looked at the car in my driveway. I realized the dings and stone chips were still there and called Larry B on his cell phone immediately. I voiced very strongly how I was so disappointed by the condition of the car. The interior was visibly dirty, stone chip still in windshield, dings still on the body of the car. They did an exterior polish and that was about it. Didn't clean the interior. The car is only a year old. I expected it to be in very good condition and everyone who saw the car at work agreed it was average. Larry was agitated this time and reiterated they blew this car out for me price-wise but did acknowledge he forgot to tell the shop to fix the stone chip in the windshield. Reading between the lines, it meant "too bad it wasn't what you wanted, too bad the stone chips and dings are still there...you should be happy because you got a good price." I was to go back there on the Saturday, two days after I purchased the car, to speak to Larry B and the GM but I was still feeling under the weather and had no 'male' back up to go with me as I was not about to set foot in that dealership without someone by my side who knows something about the process.. So I cancelled and sent Sherwood Chev an email instead demanding them to find me the car I wanted and do an even trade. They said No. I demanded they refund back my $400 admin fee due to cash deal and all the stress they put me through. They said No. I demanded they fix the dings and stone chips and they only agreed to fix the stone chip on the windshield as they felt the car was sufficient as the salesman Larry said it was. Bottom line, as a single mature professional woman, do NOT go to this dealership without your husband, boyfriend, father as they get you to sign forms under duress and when you are sick instead of sending you home and telling you to come back Saturday when you are feeling better. They verbally tell you they will fix things but when push comes to shove, they say they didn't agree to it so get EVERYTHING in writing. if you are paying cash, negotiate the Admin fee in advance as other dealerships are flexible. I know because I phone around after-the-fact. Do not fall for the sales pitch that if you leave the dealership to go have lunch, the car will be gone. And do NOT sign paperwork when you are sick and go by what the salesman is saying as my lawyer advised me that I had signed off that the salesman had walked me through the car, when he didn't and that I had signed off it was in good condition. I purchased my last two vehicles by myself and had no problems whatsoever but they were at different dealerships. On hindsight, after speaking to so many people at work, I have heard a lot of really bad stories about Sherwood Chev. I learned not to sign anything when I am not feeling well and should have insisted they call me a cab or just had my friends drive me back home when they picked up my car. That Thursday I had told Larry I didn't want the car and asked him and he left me a voice mail saying we would discuss options. It was another stall tactic to get me in the dealership, friends/my ride is gone, and then tell me it can't be done. So I am sitting there with no wheels and no friends/support. Why didn't he tell me that on the phone as I would have not gone there that night and would have demanded my deposit back and drove to Capital Pontiac the following Saturday to buy the car I really wanted. I learned that Sherwood Chev's word means nothing. Do NOT buy anything at Sherwood Chev. They are friendly but aggressive until they get your business and then they turn on you and don't even attempt to make you happy once they have the sale. I asked them not to cash my cheque until we came to a resolution but they did anyway. I have a recall on my car and the brakes started squealing loudly two weeks after I bought the car. I took it to someone else to look at the brakes and he said the brakes should not have been in such bad condition for 50KM. He asked to see the service report. I said all the paperwork was in the glove box. He asked it Sherwood Chev had shown me this paperwork before I committed to the car; I said No. He looked at what they rated parts of the car for wear and tear and did not agree with it. He said there is no way my brakes would be in the condition they were if they were only at the % of wear and tear Sherwood Chev wrote on the form. So that says it all. Oh and to top it off, all dealerships give TWO key fobs with keys when you buy a car. Now that it's winter, I went looking for my 2nd set of keys. It turns out Sherwood Chev only gave me one as I checked the glove box and no spare key in there. Sherwood Chev shouldn't even been in business but have been for a long time and I honestly can't figure out why. Lesson learned. I will never set foot in Sherwood Chev again and have been spreading the bad word about them to people since May. What still surprises me is how many people know of others who have had similar bad experiences. I wish I would have talked to more people before I set foot in their dealership for had I known their bad reputation in advance, I would have driven straight to Capital in Regina. The GMs response from Sherwood Chev when I complained was that was not the story the salesman gave them and that the deal was not structured that way. More
Brought my car in for warranty work on fuel pump because the engine light kept coming on. The changed out the fuel pump and soon after my car started having problems and the engine light became hardcoded. W the engine light kept coming on. The changed out the fuel pump and soon after my car started having problems and the engine light became hardcoded. When I took it in I told them what was happening and that it had to do with the fuel pump. They told me I would have to pay to have it looked at... I told them no way, I'm not paying for a problem you caused. They said if it's a problem with the fuel pump then they'll fix it on warranty, I said good then I won't have to pay... They gave it back to me later that day and said um ya I guess it is a problem with the fuel pump, the seal is faulty, we'll order it in and we can fix it in a week. Well if the fuel pump is on warranty why don't you just replace it. Nope we're gonna order this part. Well 2 months later they finally call and say they have the part. Well that's two months of having car problems because of their incompetence. It's getting to the point that it not worth going taking your car in for repair, even if its warranty, because it'll come back with even more problems. After this if its still not fixed I'm going somewhere else or learning how to do the work on my own because it seems like you can't trust these shops anymore. I just can't believe a dealership would have such a bad service department. More
