What a refreshing experience purchasing a new vehicle! We we're contemplating our next move when our nephew told us about Sherwood Buick GMC and Dan the salesman he had dealt with. We called Dan and decided to take a trip out to Sherwood Park. We were greeted in the parking lot (on a very cold day) by Jesse and instantly felt the warmth of this dealership. We met up with Dan and had a conversation about the dealership and more importantly the "best practices" they were introducing. Dan had been promoted (not surprising) since he sold my nephew his truck so we were introduced to Simon who would be our salesman. We had an idea of what type of vehicle we wanted and after some discussion decided to take the SLT2 Acadia for a test drive. Being impressed with the vehicle we negotiated a fair price and went to see Shaun to complete the transaction. Not once during that whole process did we feel pressured or dissatisfied. I've experienced a letdown once a sale is completed in the past, but not this time. We had some concerns/questions the following day so we went back to the dealership. We were treated like royalty and those concerns/questions were all taken care of which included another test drive. When we picked up the vehicle two things stood out. 1 - All four gentleman that we had dealt with made a point to visit with us. 2 - Part of the deal included quite a sum of money for accessories. Since we couldn't use it all I was sure we would be told we would be given a voucher which I didn't want. But without even a discussion, we were told they would cut us a cheque for the unused balance. This dealership certainly deserves a visit if you are looking for a vehicle. It actually felt like they are introducing a "fresh new concept" when it comes to us - the customer! More

It was a big decision for us to make and Wayne was there the whole way. Answering all our questions, and there was lots We would highly recommend going to see Wayne when you are looking for your new ride. I have bought vehicles at others dealerships and being a women was treated disrespectful. So when we went to see Wayne, any concerns I had he looked at me and answered me. He has my respect.. More
Disappointment - will NEVER go again. I have been taking my vehicle (GMC Sierra) here for oil changes for a while now as the quick lube personnel are absolutely amazing! I was having I have been taking my vehicle (GMC Sierra) here for oil changes for a while now as the quick lube personnel are absolutely amazing! I was having some issues with my transmission and thought I would take my truck here to the service centre to check it out (still with a decent amount of power train warranty left). First trip they could not replicate the issue - I realize this is sometimes the case. The transmission was still acting up so I took it in a second time; this time I road tested with one of the employees (will keep nameless). We were able to replicate the issue and he acknowledged there was a problem. It went in to be checked out and there were some items that required replacing (not covered under warranty); but t as I was told this will fix the problem I went ahead with the repairs. The tranmission was not working as it should even though I was assured it was based on a road test conducted by the service folks. I then took it back for a third time - keep in mind all trips during work hours that I had to take off - there were some sensors or modules that were going to be replaced (which were covered under warranty) which was definitely going to fix the problem. The repairs were performed and the issue was still not fixed. I road tested the truck again with a service employee (he drove this time); we still felt the issue but I was told that it shifts like this because there are 130,000kms on the truck. That's what they do when they have this type of mileage - the warranty is for 160,000 or 5 years which neither were up. First off, not a great way to promote your product pretty much saying that they wear out after this amount of mileage (this is also not a heavy duty work truck hauling a lot of weight, driving on horrible roads; this is a highway and city driven truck). The service employee was quite rude and demeaning. I don't mind blunt and to the point but when you talk to people like they are stupid or don't know anything, it also doesn't make the customer feel good or really want to go back. As the issue was. It fixed and I refused to take it here for a 4th time, I took it to another GMC dealership to look at it. I explained the issue and what had been conducted in the past from Sherwood Buick GMC so they could have a better understanding of what was goIng on. I went for a drive with the shop foreman and he could feel what was going on. We went back to the dealership and he explains what they would do and if it worked it would cost me no more than 1.5 hours of labour. If that didn't work after they tested it they would have to do some further testing/investigation which may or may not be covered. They said they would let me know before going any further and get my approval. All of this was done while I was away on vacation and they still kept in contact with me diligently. They went in and fixed the issue, I had my truck ready when I came back. Everything was covered. All the time and money spent goIng to Sherwood Park may have been avoided if I went to the other dealership first. With the second or third trip to Sherwood Buick GMC, my check engineer light was on. I have a code reader and I check it out. My oils pressure sensor was the issue. I took it in for them to look at (and mentioned again the transmission). They fixed/replaced the sensor and all was good (approx. $600-700). This light came on again about 11 months later so against my better judgement I took it back to the dealership (I figured the work was done there and had a 1yr. parts and labour warranty so that was my best option). After a number of class back and forth and with some apparent testing required I paid approximately $650 for this to be done and for them to clean the sensor. they said testing was required which I had to approve so they could apparently find the problem (which I knew from the code and they said the same code cam up when they checked too). The cleaning could have been done which was $88 and the problem would have been rectified. With what I paid I could have had the full thing done again like was done a year ago. Whenever I take my truck here for service or any issue, I get the run around and have to waste more time and money to get the issue NOT resolved or pay way more than needed. Again the quick lube here and the people working on it are amazing. Also, the service advisors I have dealt with there are quite friendly and have good communication - they are the messenger and I don't put any blame on them. After all of this; the constant runaround, dealing with a disrespectful service employee (again nameless) and having an amazing experience at the other dealership, I will NEVER take my vehicle here for any servicing, I will NEVER purchase a vehicle here and if asked where they should go for a new/used vehicle or for any service work this would not be my first choice. More

I confess to some trepidation about approaching someone I didn't know to make such a major commitment, given my sketchy list of requirements and my fixed budget. However, I soon relaxed, and we walked through the process of reviewing various vehicles with discussion of the pros and cons of each. After a few days of discussion and consultation with my back-up folks, the choice was a used 2016 Terrain with 33,000 km on it: it met my budget and driving requirements and scored well on safety items and potential maintenance issues. This vehicle is far more advanced, technologically speaking, than my previous one and, to start with, I found some of the electonic bells and whistles quite intimidating. Wayne has been extremely helpful and patient, helping me add more and more notches on my virtual "technology stick" as I become more and more familiar with the various buttons, lights, screens, etc. I value his sense of humour and his encouragement, as well; he hasn't dumped me in the deep end of the pool and said "You can swim; just do it!", but accepts phone calls or texts on all manner of questions. This is easing the transition process. I am very pleased to have a relationship that I can rely on for future service needs, as well. I am heartily recommending Wayne whenever the comment "Like your new vehicle" comes up!!! More

It has a lot of exceptional features so I was a little worried about learning how to use all of them, but Wayne is so personable and patient that I'm comfortable asking him anything about it. He's always readily available to assist me whenever I drop in, which I find very impressive. He's knowledgeable, honest and the perfect gentleman to deal with for all my service needs. Squealing and grinding from rear brakes. I had all the brakes replaced on my 2009 Pontiac Vibe about two weeks earlier at Sherwood GMC and was surprised that needed to be done considering tha I had all the brakes replaced on my 2009 Pontiac Vibe about two weeks earlier at Sherwood GMC and was surprised that needed to be done considering that I have yet to replace brakes before 200,000 kms. On the day in question I started to hear squealing and grinding from the rear wheels and hoped it was a rock but was concerned that possibly my brake job was the issue. It was late on a Friday when I pulled in to Sherwood GMC, explained the issue to Jason and he asked me to pull into the service center. The squealing was really something inside the bay - Jason indicated that he could not get me in since the day was nearly done but he put the car in neutral and rocked it back and forth until we determined it was the left rear wheel causing the issue. He got a screwdriver, laid on the floor and by working the backing plate he was able to remove a small stone about 1/2 the size of a pea and with many smooth sides - the noise was gone and issue resolved! Thanks to his ingenuity and resourcefulness I was on my way - thank you! More

He even drove us to another dealership to see a vehicle I was interested in. We ended up buying a Trax from Sherwood and are very happy with it.
