Stephanie was great right from the outset. Very friendly and happy even at 7am. Went through the different service options and associated pricing. While my care was being serviced she followed up on my extended warranty (of course nothing was covered...lol) and kept me updated on work being done and approximate time for completion. If this is the level of service I can expect from the dealership even if I didn't buy my car from this dealership, I can definitely see my next purchase being from this dealership! Stephanie was a pleasure to deal with. A small tarnish was the young lady behind the counter in the service department that took my payment...I hope she was just having an off day and isn't quite so monotone and uninterested in her job on a regular basis. Overall, a great experience! More
Booked a service appointment several weeks in advance. I received a reminder call of the appointment and again stated what the problem was and, was reassured at the very least would have the assessment completed. I dropped off the truck @ 7 am the day of the appointment. I was told it might be repaired or may need new parts. I gave the go ahead to do whatever was needed. I explained I was heading out of town the next day. I was then called at about 2 pm that afternoon to say my truck would not even be looked at that day. I live in the complete opposite end of the city. I voiced my extreme displeasure to the service acct manager that my vehicle had not even been looked at, even with booking several weeks in advance and being the first customer to arrive that morning. I requested to be able to speak with a manager on my arrival to pick up the keys. I arrived about 15 minutes before closing, I was able to speak with Jay, who immediately sprang into action to grab a ? Tech before he left for the day. Within about 20 minutes my lock had been reinstalled and the truck was ready to go. Thank you so much for hearing my concern and rectifying the problem ( also for staying a bit after hours ) this does not happen much anymore. Again very much appreciated. Maureen Freeborn More
I was travelling from Edmonton on August 28th enroute to the International Mustang Meet in Bozeman Montana. I was driving my 1992 GMC Vandura2500 travel van (purchased new) and pulling my classic 1964 1/2 the International Mustang Meet in Bozeman Montana. I was driving my 1992 GMC Vandura2500 travel van (purchased new) and pulling my classic 1964 1/2 Mustang on an open deck trailer. There was a traffic volume delay on the Deerfoot Trail. Suddenly a car pulled in front me causing me to brake very hard. I stopped about 6 feet from their back bumper. My van had stalled and I could not get it restarted. This had never happened in 21 years. We called for a tow truck and asked to be taken to the nearest GM dealership (Shaw GMC). While awaiting the tow truck, I kept trying to restart the van. About 15 minutes later on the 5th attempt, the van restarted. I drove to Shaw GMC and arrived at their service department at 5:40 pm (just before closing). Shaw GMC immediately understood my situation. They offered their secure lot to store my van and classic car overnight and gave us a shuttle ride to our friends in north Calgary. My van was diagnosed the next morning - with no problems ! I subsequently drove and returned from Montana - this was the correct call ! We were picked up via shuttle from our friends and were on our way to Montana that afternoon. My compliments to all the helpful and friendly service staff at Shaw GMC. I plan to replace our van next summer with a new GMC Sierra SLT, so will be calling Shaw GMC again ! Thanks folks ! :-) More
