The purchasing experience of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 was one of the most frustrating I have ever had. The communication from the Shaw GMC team was, at best, disrespectful. Due to an issue with my insuran one of the most frustrating I have ever had. The communication from the Shaw GMC team was, at best, disrespectful. Due to an issue with my insurance profile, I decided to switch from financing to paying for the vehicle in cash. Because I was concerned that the process would not be changed in time before the first bank charge, I had to call Shaw GMC around eight times. None of the staff members were available to take my call, and no one could even tell me when someone would return it. None of my messages were answered, and I had to become extremely upset just to speak with a manager. At the time of vehicle delivery, I noticed a defect in the rear left door. This is a serious issue, as the door does not fully seal and compromises the vehicle’s safety. This problem was never disclosed during the sale. When I brought it up, I was told someone would contact me about it, possibly to send the vehicle to a body shop. That never happened. Adding to the poor experience, the vehicle was not delivered fully charged, despite this being clearly promised at the time of purchase. This shows a complete lack of basic care and professionalism. To make matters worse, after I took the car home, the dealership contacted me to say they had installed the wrong license plate on my vehicle, meaning the plate belonged to another car. This put me at serious risk if I had been stopped by the police. On top of that, I had to interrupt my workday and wait for someone to come to my home to replace the plate with the correct one, which clearly impacted my daily commitments. All of this might have been overlooked if the service provided by Shaw GMC had been respectful and honest, but that was not the case at any point during the purchase experience. It is completely unacceptable that, when purchasing such an expensive item, there is no transparency or quality customer service at a dealership like this. I will never do business with this dealership again and do not recommend it to anyone. More
Edit: as you can see in the photo attached, the sales manager, Robert Mantei admits that vehicles bought at this location are expected to have some “wear and tear”. Recent Experience February 2025 I recently purchased a used Jetta from this dealership. The salesman ensured me that the vehicle was mechanically sound, reliable and ready to drive off the lot. Unfortunately, this was incorrect. Within the first 10 kms of driving the vehicle, I noticed a constant sound, indicating the car was not in prime condition. I contacted the dealership right away, asking to have this sound inspected. Note this was the day I picked up the car. After some back and forth, the dealership finally agreed to look at the car. After an entire day, I was informed the dealership was unable to determine what was wrong with my car. In fact, when I went to pick it up, they told me nothing was wrong with it but the sound was still there. I called for the mechanics to come back out and they did agree the sound was not normal and they would need to look at it again. I dropped the car off a few days later, which required me to miss yet another day of work. I was told the AC compressor belt and tensioner need to be replaced and was quoted $1250.00. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing as I feel I participated in a dishonest deal. The reluctance for the dealership to look at my car, their apparent disinterest, or perhaps incompetence, in correctly diagnosing my car, and then charging me an absorbent price to fix something they likely knew was wrong with the car when they sold it to me demonstrates extremely distasteful business practices. Contacted to purchase a used 2024 Terrain Denali. It was a new trade, so only stock photo, but carfax was clean, no accidents. Listed price was $37k...I get contacted by a Pasha. He confirms it's a new trade, the price is correct, plus another $5k is coming off, and that he will get me photos. Sounds great. Today, he sends us the photos. Well, despite having a clean carfax, there's scratches and a basketball sized dent in the rear passenger door. He doesn't know what the damage is from, but says not to worry, it's going to the body shop now and will be fixed. Great. It's time to make a deal... Well, all of a sudden, Pasha says ok, so that will be $45k, but we will take $5k off. What? The list price is $37k, and you confirmed that. He says, no, I'm wrong. So, he sends me a new link. It now says $45k haha. These guys really changed it in real time...but this is where it gets good. I have screenshots of the ad I inquired on, and it's clearly listed at $37k. I have all the message exchanges, from yesterday and today, where he confirmed that very price, plus 5k off that...Talk about living up to the stereotype of a sleazy used car salesman. They got caught being sleazy, dead to rights, trying to pull a fast one. Just absolutely gross...Buying a vehicle is never fun, but then you get a guy like this, and it just really puts a stain on that dealership More
I was in to get a trade in value on my truck but they wanted to know how much i owed on it and how much deposit i have paid on it. I said that has nothing to do with the trade in value. They did not want wanted to know how much i owed on it and how much deposit i have paid on it. I said that has nothing to do with the trade in value. They did not want to tell me what my truck is worth at the end. They do not want to do honest business. More
I signed finance papers Jan 17 2025 for a 2025 GMC AT4X (even though the papers say Jan 21 2025 no big deal but trying to make sure this goes right here). I’m a very loyal GMC/Chevy owner and have bought (even though the papers say Jan 21 2025 no big deal but trying to make sure this goes right here). I’m a very loyal GMC/Chevy owner and have bought atleast 10 new vehicles not counting used in my time. To start off I had the Shaw GMC put on a tonneau cover when I bought the truck. We went on vacation Jan 18 so they had 2 weeks till Feb 1 to install it which they did and that was fine. So the deal was …… I kept a FOB so that Feb 2 a Sunday I could grab the truck and drive it home with all proper temp insurances because I’m from BC. They were to place a $12500 cheque in the truck under the seat which was a PST and Lux tax cheque I had put in my financing which I needed to register and insure my new truck in BC. Very common for this for people that don’t no about the BC insurance stuff. WELL NO cheque which is fine at this point they said they would Transfer into my acct so I could register that week I was back. WELL with 0 calls back or anyone to keep me informed after about 10 calls now because I’m not happy NOBODY has even put in an effort to reach out I’ve talked to atleast 5 people including salesman and finance guy and NOPE. And kicker to is they filled out my Bill of sale WRONG which cost me another $1500 when I registered with my own money (not sure if finance guy was a beginner maybe learning) so now I’m out the $12500 plus another $1500 and my FOB $700 must I go on !!!!! It was a simple phone call to Just say Hey we are on it ! Or hey it will be 2 or 3 days or hey etc etc Stay away from Shaw GMC on Blackfoot they are terrible !!! Once sale is final you are nothing ! I will still remain a GMC and Chevy owner but never again be treated like this ! I’ve dealt with a few dealerships and I own many pieces of heavy equipment (Excavators Dump Trucks, crushers, skid steers, etc) and have bought a lot in my time in 30 years and have never been treated like this STAY AWAY that’s all I have to say Thanks Daryl More
