Shopping for a new truck Saturday afternoon we arrived at Shaganappi to hopefully meet with a particular Salesman regarding taking out a Colorado for a test drive. We currently have an Acadia and are looking for something slightly bigger, but since it will be used for commuting we do not want a full sized truck. We approached the front desk and asked to speak with Rick (who wasn't in that day). The Sales Manager was called. He came over and we told him that we'd like to deal with Rick, but would like to take a 2016 Colorado for a test drive so that I could decide whether I'd like to move up to a truck or to stay with an SUV sized vehicle. We were informed that He did not have any license plates currently available. We asked if we could see what they had in stock and he informed us that they were located out the back door. We walked around the for about 10 minutes until we finally located the Colorados and Canyon's. We noticed a salesman driving his customers around on a golf cart. We walked back into the dealership to see if the sales manager received a plate yet. We were told that he could call our salesman into the office on his day off but that would take at least an hour for him to get there. I asked if he could borrow a plate from another salesman and he said no. Then I proceeded to ask him if they were supposed to be a team or not. He looked at me like a deer in headlights. I told him that I had had enough of standing around waiting for someone to "help" us and that we would take our business elsewhere. He at least apologised for the inconvenience. The sales people at this dealership are clearly only out for number 1 and I will not be supporting them now or ever. So far so good Used truck purchase was as good as my last new truck purchase. So far small problems with vehicle have been taken care of promptly and properly. I have used the service department for 10 years and have only had two problems one of which was a manufacture problem that had no remedy- gas filler door bounces up and down and chips its own paint off, service just put touchup paint on the chips. I see now on the new models they have installed support to stop the up and down movement. More

After my first conversation with Nelson in response to an inquiry I had sent online (he replied very quickly) I felt a lot more comfortable in moving forward. He took the time to ask questions and explain the whole process to me and never displayed any pressure to me. This experience was actually fun! I didn't get my brand new Trax but I did get a very slightly used 2015 Trax he suggested, saving me a ton of money! When I showed up to take delivery, he had my paperwork all ready to sign (we had gone over all the details already) and my beautiful Trax was sitting outside looking new, with a full tank of gas and my new license plate already bolted on! I don't know if its normal to hug your "car guy" but I couldn't help myself. Best day ever!! More

I had been in communication with more than a few dealers recently before deciding to complete my purchase with Shaganappi GM and specifically, Nelson. My credit has unfortunately taken hit in the lasts 2 years due to some medical issues I suffered. My contacts were initially made online and once my credit challenges were shared, the conversation quickly ended (if I had been contacted at all) or at least the salesman's attention was less focused on me. Nelson immediately made me feel comfortable in sharing the details of my circumstance, listened to my story and then suggested some options I could still have to finance my new car. He replied to my emails and texts (there were several) very promptly and always with the answer to my question. I felt he was genuine the entire time and I still believe he really had my best interest at heart. He delivered on his recommendations and advice and he literally had me driving my new car within 2 days of our first conversation and at a better interest rate than I ever expected. Dealing with one person to help me from beginning to end (selecting the right vehicle for my needs, securing my financing and completing the paper work) resulted in the best experience I have ever had with any major purchase. At a time when I anticipated the worst experience to get back on my feet, I ended up having the best. At 53 years old, I have had many. Despite never having completed a review before and as a result of my experience with Nelson, I felt compelled to share this experience in an effort to repay him the favour.
