Amazing I shopped around and the Ron Hodgson dealership was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of selection, price, and customer service. Ludwig and Coach really gave me a great deal and they've got a lifelong customer in me. These guys work at the dealership located in Edmonton on St. Albert trail, just south of the main dealership location. They had vehicles for all price points and went the extra mile to make sure I got the best deal within my budget. I love my car and can't say enough good things about all the guys there. They even shared their lunch with us and gave my daughter a balloon. More

Absolute worst service experience I have ever had. I was having trouble with my Sierra at work. The truck was shaking terribly at speeds in excess of 70km/h. Also my rear end was saggging, and a back up alarm that I had installed by Ron Hodgsons in October was still not working after having been in twicw for repair. I booked my appointment early while I was working in Fort McMurray. I even left work a day early and rescheduled my appointment a day earlier so that I could be sure that all the work would be done before I had to go back to work in five days. I arrived at the dealership at the scheduled time. I waited a few minutes until a service rep was available. I spoke with Sean and gave him a description of what was wrong. Once Sean drove my truck into the service bay he commented on the mud on the truck. After that every concern I had he attributed to mud and told me that it would not be covered under warranty and I would have to pay for any repairs. I have been in construction for many years and driven many trucks for work. I realize that sometimes conditions are the cause and that some issues will not be covered, so when I am made aware of this I get a quote for the work and then have the work done. If I can't use my truck for work then I can't work. When he called me about my truck he stated that my truck was shaking because of mud and that my back up alarm was not working because of mud. When I asked about the sagging rear end, I was told that the survey box and tools in the back of the truck were too heavy for the rear suspension. My survey box and equipment wiegh between 300lbs and 400lbs . Every Half ton vehicle in the company fleet that I contract to has the same box and equipment in them. None of them are sagging. I asked him if they could remove the box and see if the back end of the truck would rise up. I was told the powers that be would not allow them to do so. When I asked about my back up alarm I was told they were not going to fix it. Frustrated I told him I would come and get my truck. I began calling other dealerships to see if I could get my truck in. I could not get an appointment until after I needed to drive back up to Fort McMurray for work. Kal tire was the only place that could get me in. Thank God for them! they did a complete inspection, rebalanced the tires and discovered that the last time the tires were worked on one of the nuts had been cross threaded so I had to replace the stud and nut. The rear suspension was not cracked but the springs were flattened out. Unfortunately they do not install leaf springs so I have made another appointment at another dealership to have these looked at. Ron Hodgsons wanted to charge me 5hrs labour to clean the mud off my truck. Kal tire cleaned the mud and dirt out of the wheels as part of the rebalancing I was not charged extra! I never felt like Ron Hodgsons wanted to resolve the problems with my vehicle. I felt like they just wanted me gone. And so I am going to another dealership that is worthy of my business and the business of my associates. Running a work truck for survey requires more frequent maintenance than the average truck and always needs something repaired. This is why I have a budget for maintenance and repair. As a business owner my truck is my office, my shop, and my livelihood. So I am very angry and frustrated with Ron Hodgsons. And even starting to regret purchasing a GMC product. Not only would I not recommend Ron Hodgsons service department but I would warn people to stay away! Which is really sad since the sales experience was awesome! The sales and financing staff were excellent. I also purchased a bed liner, tonneau cover and custom floor mats from the dealership. I have always had it in for oil changes and tire rotations. Since we bought the truck in August we have been loyal customers. But this last experience has left me sour. More

Mike Erickson was able to get me they best deal that he could even though I have poor credit. After they found the truck for us and got us the best deal possible they got us into the truck as fast as they could. We thank them both and the customer service they gave us was excellent. More

Not only did he make me feel comfortable about the dealership but he went out of his way to ensure it was great purchasing experience and took great delight in showing off each vehicles attributes and features. After settling on a vehicle; Ludwig guided me through the process and made sure I was well looked after. To top off the experience, Ludwig purchased a Barney DVD for my toddler to watch on the in-built DVD player in a my new vehicle, it was this great thought and personal touch that made the experience great and added to the excitement of my new vehicle. Excellent Car Buying Experience I dropped into Ron Hodgson's as it's my local dealer. I was looking for a used Impala and met with Ludwig. Right off the start he was friendly without being pushy and exuded a comfortable attitude of "let me help you on your terms". Although I was fairly certain on the exact car I was looking for, he took the time to insure there might not be another one better suited and proceeded to show me what I wanted. He cheerfully showed all the associated information and volunteered info that I didn't think to ask for. Following a pleasant test drive, we engaged in the offer/counter-offer dance but it was very relaxed and matter of fact. It was refreshing to deal with Ludwig as I never felt I was being deceived or mislead. Prior to committing to the deal, I checked out identical cars at other Edmonton dealers and found the prices to be similar. In the end I chose to deal at Ron Hodgson's because of Ludwig. He embodies the exact characteristics I would say define a great salesman: - friendly but not overbearing - knowledgeable - open and honest - helpful and willing to go above and beyond - no pressure, he's done what he can and then leaves it up to you to decide Overall, an excellent experience in a situation that frequently is less than satisfying. When I arrived someone else was already dealing on that unit, so Bob went out of his way to try to find another which would meet my needs. I was heading back to the main dealership to check out the new stock, when I made the mistake of checking out another dealership's lot (it was the stereotypical high-pressure approach which gives car dealers a bad name). Fortunately, Bob rescued me when he called to say that the deal for the vehicle I wanted fell through. I rushed back, took a test drive and that was that! Thanks to Bob (who also detailed the vehicle himself!) and Chelsey the Finance Manager, I was able to drive my new vehicle home last night. In 20 years of driving and owning vehicles, this was the best experience I've had. There was no pressure and dealing with Bob and Dean was just like working with old friends! Awesome customer service I came to the used car lot knowing exactly what I wanted. Ludwig took the time to talk with me and my kids, passing out balloons and making sure they I came to the used car lot knowing exactly what I wanted. He was very thorough and answered all my questions, took me on a tour of the main dealer showroom and introduced me to staff we passed along the way. He told me the story about how Ron himself built his business and about what a genuine down to earth guy Ron Hodgson is and how much he values his employees and customers. Said it didn't matter the type of car I bought used or new the minute I drove away from the lot I will always be a customer of theirs. He made sure I was all gassed up and even though they had already closed, he took the time to set up sync so I had my music for the ride home. He called me Monday after I bought the car on Saturday to see if everything went good with the ride home and if there were any questions I had. An overall awesome salesman and good guy I would recommend everyone I meet to see him if they want a no pressure, pleasant experience. More
