We have had a very bad experience with the service. They told us that we had to change the breaks after only 16000 km and the cost was 600$. They said that it was probably the way I drive!!! Oh yes with 3 k told us that we had to change the breaks after only 16000 km and the cost was 600$. They said that it was probably the way I drive!!! Oh yes with 3 kids i'm really a cowboy!!! We said no and we went to a local garage who said that we had 40% left on breaks and suggest to do a clean up for only for 80$. !!!! Thats not honest at all. More
Ordered a new 20" wheel for my 2010 Dodge at this dealership and scheduled an appointment to have them replace my damaged wheel when the order arrived. I had purchase parts many times from them in dealership and scheduled an appointment to have them replace my damaged wheel when the order arrived. I had purchase parts many times from them in the past but never used their service department, opting for the same dealership I purchased my car from. When I arrived for my appointment, the wheel was in but I was told I did not have an appointment for the installation and they were too busy to do it as a walk-in. Luckily, I had their business/service card with the date/time that their staff wrote down as well as the name of the person who made the appointment for me, After showing the card, they told me that the employee did not put it in the computer (blamed a colleague) and told me they could squeeze me in but I would have to wait 1.5-2 hours (for a simple tire change). Made me feel like they were doing me a favor. To add insult to injury, when the car was finally ready, I paid for the wheel which knew was $600, but was shocked when they told me the invoice for changing the tire was a whopping $87. After asking for an explanation, I was told they charge for time, at a mechanics rate, for changing stock 20" because it takes their employees longer to change compared to smaller (i.e.. 18") wheels that are charged at a fixed rate! I asked to speak with the service manager. I explained the situation and told him I knew quite a bit about cars and the explanation provided made no sense. I also said that charging me $87 for .8 hours of labor to install a wheel I just paid $600 for was not reasonable. He told me that for 20" wheels, their policy is to charge for time and the $87 is what I would have to pay. I used the speaker on my cellular phone and called another Dodge dealer in town - the one I purchased my car from, and provided them with my model and year, told them I had 20" wheels and asked how much it would cost to change one of them (removal, balance, and install). Their answer was $26. I looked at the service manager and told him that is exactly what any reasonable Dodge dealership charges and is what I was expecting to pay. He became extremely defensive and stated that Rive Sud Chrysler does not have to charge what other garages charge and it was the owner who decided to charge for time versus a fixed rate for 20" tire changes. I asked him if, as the service manager, he thought he made good business sense to lose a 1st time service customer who has purchased over $1,500 in parts and accessories from their dealership over a difference of $60? He arrogantly told I don't have to like their tire change policy but it stands. I paid the bill and left, never to return again. The fundamental issue was not the difference of $60, or their illogical explanations, but their total lack of customer care. Their service manager couldn't care less if I returned and did absolutely nothing make a good 1st impression on a new customer using their service center. If it were my business, I would not even have charged a 1st time customer for the tire change after making them wait 2 hours because one of my employees forgot to enter the reservation in the computer. Luckily, I have outstanding service at the dealership I purchased my two cars from. Albeit it is a 30 min drive one way, it is well worth the time because they care that I am a customer and make me feel that they value my business. More
