NO!!! Find a car anywhere else!! Our truck must be a Monday build and this dealership is staffed by Fridays (as in it's Friday and I am out of here!) truck is less than three years old, needed a new tra Monday build and this dealership is staffed by Fridays (as in it's Friday and I am out of here!) truck is less than three years old, needed a new transmission took 3 weeks! Then oops they didn't replace the electronic gear shift control so the tranny light comes on & truck doesn't shift smoothly, another mechanic (unaffiliated) did diagnostic & told ought to be covered by warranty, back to Toyota we go ...took 3 more days for a 1 hr piece of work & $700 bill not covered by warranty PLUS they insisted on re-diagnosing & charging for same. Truck spends more time in their shop than on the road and everytime its in they seem to find ways that warranty doesn't cover that. Never have a courtesy vehicle, think they can just tell customers that nope its not ready, maybe tomorrow. Honestly drive to Edmonton! or maybe Saskatachewan or buy a Honda (I hear great things about their service) More
This dealership is too happy to take advantage of an environment where they have no competition. ( no other Toyota dealers ). They are sleezy and cruel. My wife and I did tons of research to find which environment where they have no competition. ( no other Toyota dealers ). They are sleezy and cruel. My wife and I did tons of research to find which vehicle would be most reliable while meeting the needs of our family. After we decided on a Toyota we went into the local dealership to purchase it. We did all price research beforehand so this should have been an easy sale. We gave Red Deer Toyota a $500.00 deposit, which they explained was refundable, and ordered our new car. We were told to expect a call confirming the deal as well as vehicle arival time within 24 hours. THREE DAYS LATER the dealership called us to confirm that the deal would go through, ( funny it took so long as we were paying cash ) however they could not tell us when the car would come in and we should wait for them to phone us within next 24 hours. FOUR DAYS LATER we decided to call them to see when the car would be in and they told us it would take 3 to 5 weeks give or take a week or two. Obviously this was unacceptable. In response we decided to search dealerships in Calgary and Edmonton to see if we could find a car to do a dealer transfer, or buy from other dealership if transfer not possible. Found one in less then ten minutes. I then called Red Deer Toyota to discuss our options of either doing a dealer transfer or getting our deposit back. At the mention of requesting a refund the service manager Neil Mcleod told me that there was no way I could get my deposit back. He then proceeded to tell me that since I live in Red Deer I would want to do my services there, and if I choose to buy my car elsewere and go to Red Deer Toyota for my service work I would receive bad service. Strong arm sales are unethical and do not work with us. This ended any possibility of me buying through them, and I told him so. Despite informing Neil that the deal was now over he continued to argue loudly that I should buy with them, and was even able to, all of a sudden, gaurentee me my car within two days instead of the 3 to 5 weeks they had told me. This also seemed crooked to me. If they could produce the vehicle so quickly why was it OK for them to have us wait over a month before. I guess customers don't matter to them much untill the sale is threatened. Anyway we told them no and went to Calgary and bought the car we found the same day. In Calgary we also found out that Red Deer Toyota had added hidden costs in their purchase price. We have since had numerous dealings with management at Red Deer Toyota to try and get our deposit back. This always ends with them rudly telling us no. Finally we demanded they at least provide copies of the paperwork they had us sign when they took our deposit. No suprise, they won't give us this either. In the end we contacted Visa who have kindly refunded us the $500.00. When you buy a vehicle it turns out you need to research the dealerships as much as you do the vehicle!! Stay away from Red Deer Toyota!! More
This dealership should adopt a more sustainable business strategy, namely, working for the customers, more than against them. The general attitude towards customers is a bit cynical, as if all customers ar strategy, namely, working for the customers, more than against them. The general attitude towards customers is a bit cynical, as if all customers are prone to be trouble. The salesman was less than positive in most ways, talking about his own career a bit too much. The thing that sealed my discontent was the way they tried to lever a lot of unnecessary options on me once I had made a deal on the car and was ready to sign. Trying to take advantage of customers is not the way a successful business is built. More
The sales advisor made a mistake on our purchase form, leaving off an item that we clearly indicated that we wanted. In saying that he would "take care of it," he ended up installing a after manufacture n leaving off an item that we clearly indicated that we wanted. In saying that he would "take care of it," he ended up installing a after manufacture non-factory part without our consent. He misled us to believe that it would be Toyota-installed and a Toyota Genuine Part. Although he has since made up for it, it has taken a lot of time over the phone and several times having to bring our vehicle back to Toyota. As the owners, both working more than full-time jobs, this has been a major inconvenience. He did NOT follow through on any one part of Toyota's Mission Statement: openness of communication, honesty of information, integrity of service and respect for all stakeholders. He went against all of these to the fullest. We have never been so shocked. Since we've had to bring the brand new vehicle back several times, I've had the opportunity to speak with the appointments person who has been incredibly rude, short and disrespectful. She always seems to make it sound like it's to their inconvenience that my vehicle has to be serviced. Regarded if this was because of a Toyota mistake or if we were just getting the vehicle serviced on a regular day, she should be trying to see what works best for the customer. As one of the main points of contact for the dealership, she has turned me away. I would absolutely consider going elsewhere for service, even if it was out of town. The one respectful, professional, amiable service person at this Red Deer dealership is Stan the Parts Advisor. He has been incredibly kind and treats the customer as he/she should be treated. Hello! If you work in service, perhaps you should follow through on Toyota's Mission - listed above. In working with several other dealerships (other brands) in the region, this is by far the worst for service both in sales and in appointment scheduling. We have been highly offended and would not consider purchasing another vehicle from this dealership. There is no trust and no respect, and it's been incredible disappointing, not to mention frustrating. We bought our vehicle 6 weeks ago, and the past 6 weeks have been a nightmare!!! We hope this happens to no one else. More
Worst experience purchasing a barand new $66000 SUV ever. We believe that it is a scam club. They reel you in with kindness and promises then after you sign the papers the lying, and cheating emerge. The a We believe that it is a scam club. They reel you in with kindness and promises then after you sign the papers the lying, and cheating emerge. The after service is crap and they lie. Weather you are male or female they treat you poorly. We kept the vehicle for 2yrs and left town to do all services to it. hated owning this vehicle because of the people that stood behind it. Worst every experience. Never wanting to make customer happy. Just a run around. Take your money eleswhere. They have a horrible reputation and now we know after the fact. Anyone else that you speak with about this dealership will veryify everything i just wrote. Buyers beware. More
