Purchased winter tires and rims. Explained I don’t live close to dealership when calling; had to make appointment. Was asked to give 3 day notice. Reminded tire swap and sales coming up. So viewed tires on close to dealership when calling; had to make appointment. Was asked to give 3 day notice. Reminded tire swap and sales coming up. So viewed tires on a local wheel balancer. Tires had points that jumped and wobbled. Belts! Left as is. Finally drove into service bay to drop off tires on rims and explained tire condition. Was asked to pay $140 + tax to inspect. Refused! Returned was told 2 tires failed inspection. Try all 4! They didn’t replace. Refused to give me any paperwork. Dealership had to talk to someone and received call the next day. Message was recorded and kept. Was told with about 3 winter months of driving “no Manufacture Warranty and due to tire wear“. Spoke with Manufacturer, tires should be replaced free/warranty Manufacturer Defect covered for 72 months. Ive Emailed and voice mailed Service Manager Ken Montgomery many times no reply. Doesn’t answer his phone nor emails. Our 2 year old Volt’s original tires still run smooth. Snow is here, Safety is First or is it with Peter Smith GM? If you don’t want to fix things as agreed say so and give all my money back! Don’t put people in the middle as you have with me.. This people paid Peter Smith not the other guy. Don’t give me the other guy stuff. I paid you, you chose the other guy. It’s your’ responsibility Mr Montgomery to warranty the problem. I have and will safe guard my Family and get on with my life. Either way put in writing what you will or won’t do and why. If not I have no other course but to drop off the 2 remaining mounted.rims and tires to the dealership. I hold you responsible for Family and Friends Safety from this point on until tires are replaced. More

He cut to the chase and gave us a great price which we compared the deal with other dealerships who could not touch it. Been in for service many times with Cruze and including company van and Scott always acknowledges me and spends a few moments shooting the breeze. Definitely recommend Scott for a Sales person. I have mostly dealt with Brandi in service and found her to be very competent, professional and friendly. She keeps me informed of progress on vehicles and no surprises when I get bill. Just got my winter tires on the other day and had made an appointment. My appointment was on time and the job completed in a very satisfactory time at a very fair price. I would not hesitate to buy a vehicle here again nor would I hesitate to use the Service Department. Bob & Judy More

Say in a perpetual cycle of bank back to the reception because no-one in service could be bothered to answer the phone. After a few times of this, I got reception yet again who told me “hopefully” someone would answer this time. When I tried to respond, the employee “Diane” simply yelled over me. When told that she should proceed, whatever I had to say was obviously less important, “Diane” laughed at me. Then Diane told me that they were understaffed. When I responded, again respectfully, that her staffing was not my problem and that I ensured adequate staffing at my workplace, Diane yelled over me and stated “I don’t have to listen to this” and slammed the phone down. I have a truck that needs first service, and it appears Smith isn’t prepared to do the service that’s “Free”. Sigh. Maybe GM will buy it back and I can get a dodge, ford, Nissan, Toyota. I’m told you can get them serviced. More

Was presented with an $1,800+ quote to replace Catalytic converter system ( right side only) . My car has 2 CC's. I had some previous misgivings on other expensive work completed and how they diagnose so decided to get a second opinion this time. Went to private garage and of course the "code" indicated an issue with the CC system. They performed a visual inspection and determined the only problem was 2 rusty bolts had caused the exhaust pipe connecting to the Catalytic converter to come loose and not connected properly. $35 fix. They brought me in and showed my the under carnage and their diagnosis. Re- Assured me nothing wrong with the CC system. And I did not tell them about the quote from the dealership. So far to date no issues with the CC Systems!!! Needless to say I was stunned by the thought I was getting shafted by the dealership. I called 3 times over the next week to speak with the manager or owner to discuss my issue, explaining my concern initially to the service advisor, and not one return call. Not even a weak excuse from the service advisor other than if the "code" indicates a problem they do a full Investigation. Unbelievable and inexcusable treatment of a customer. Would much prefer to work with the Dealer however the Trust is gone. Shame on you!! More
Wheel Separation Event In August 2017 I was in Belleville visiting with family and then I was going on to Ottawa for a vacation. I heard a noise in the back of my vehicle a In August 2017 I was in Belleville visiting with family and then I was going on to Ottawa for a vacation. I heard a noise in the back of my vehicle and thought it was my rear brakes. I brought the car into Peter Smith Chevrolet as my car is a Chevrolet product and I asked them to check my rear brakes. After they were inspected Mr. Ken Montgomery (Service Manager) advised that my brakes were fine and that the rear sway hinges were loose and needed to be replaced. I asked if the car was safe to drive and he assured me that it was and recommended that I get the parts replaced when I got home. There were no problems with the car over the next few days however I noticed that the noise became louder. On the way home I experienced some handling problems that I attributed to the loose sway hinges. Approximately 4 hours into my return trip there was a sudden and violent shaking from the rear of my car and then the left rear wheel separated from the vehicle and started to roll down the highway. Thankfully no one was near me and the wheel traveled approximately 400 metres before coming to a stop against the centre median. Needless to say this was potentially a very serious event that could have easily resulted in injury or death to anyone who might have come into contact with this wheel. After returning home I contacted Mr. Montgomery at Peter Smith and described what had happened. He advised that he would check with service and get back to me. When he called me back he advised that they had not removed my rear wheels when they checked my brakes. I found this to be incredible - I have never encountered a situation where a service garage has not removed the wheels of a car to check the brakes. It is equally disturbing to think that, if this statement was true, this dealership checks a car's brakes by eyeballing them while they are up on the hoist, which was what Mr. Montgomery indicated had happened with my car. I found it disturbing that Mr. Montgomery and Peter Smith Chevrolet have quickly distanced themselves from what could have been a tragic accident. I would not recommend you take your car for service at this dealership. More
Second visit to dealership. Tire losing air pressure quite rapidly. Found the reason quite quickly, attributed to hairline fracture in wheel rim, likely resultant from manufacturer defect. New rim and r quite rapidly. Found the reason quite quickly, attributed to hairline fracture in wheel rim, likely resultant from manufacturer defect. New rim and replacement all done under warranty. Both times the car was serviced, staff were conscientious, friendly and attentive. A first rate dealership. More
