Penticton Hyundai sent us off in our newly purchased Kona with an empty gas tank. We had to tank up before we got home! When we brought it to his attention, along with a few other things, the general manager with an empty gas tank. We had to tank up before we got home! When we brought it to his attention, along with a few other things, the general manager, Tyson, remarked the tank should have has gas in it when we left the lot. I gave him the gas bill, and reminded him a couple of times via email. To date, NOTHING. He should know negative P.R travels at 20 times the rate of positive P.R. Maybe more. We were given only one key, so bought a fob on the net -- when we went to get it keyed, they did a check-up on the car and discovered mice had been inside the vent ducts and recommended rodent proof mesh be installed. Landon showed me a picture of the mess the mice had made. We had just purchased the Nova 23 days before AND we park it in the garage. There is NO evidence of mice in our garage. No droppings Hubby vacuums our garage regularly. We checked it again when we got home. Nothing. We checked drawers. Nothing. We argued those mice must have gotten in on the lot where the cars are parked OUTSIDE, as we DO NOT have a mouse problem. Their stance? Prove it. DON'T BELIEVE THEIR TECHNICIANS DO A 120-POINT INSPECTION COVERING EVERY ASPECT OF THE VEHICLE .... UNDER THE HOOD. If that was true, the mice would have been found!!!! Maybe they have been ... $79.50 of the bill for for programming our key fob. The vehicle inspection was free. The rest of the $670.94 estimate was for things like replacing the cabin air filter, rodent proof mesh, servicing air conditioning. Hubby replaced the cabin air filter with his Lordco discount card a lot cheaper. I wrote Tyson, the general manager, all of this, on October 23, 2024, expecting a reply. Nothing. I'm not sure we'll be getting our car serviced at Penticton Hyundai, and I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone buying a car there. If you do, just be extremely aware, and don't buy into the things you are told. They may not be true. More
I brought in my Hyundai Tuscon for a diagnostic and they said I needed a new engine but that it would be covered by factory warranty (recall). After 6 weeks of no word from them, they called to tell me that said I needed a new engine but that it would be covered by factory warranty (recall). After 6 weeks of no word from them, they called to tell me that the replacement engine actually wasn't covered under warrant and that we'd need to foot the $9,500 bill. I get the engine sorted out and I it begins leaking oil in my driveway. I (stupidly) brought the car back to Penticton Hyundai to fix it because I hoped they'd be eager to fix their mistake after the engine warranty debacle. Wrong. They assure me these types of "coincidences" can happen and that it's an unrelated problem. No worries though it's covered under warranty. After another couple weeks of waiting and poor communication we get a call informing us that the car is fixed and ready to pick up. We get there and they inform us that the part isn't covered under warranty after all and that we'd be footing the cost once again. Nightmare scenario. We paid the balance and got the heck out of there for the last time. Do not get service at Penticton Hyundai, Do not buy a Hyundai. Sold us a 2017 Santa Fe XL a year and a half ago, has already cost $7500+ in repairs as components keep failing. Called about this and spoke with Tyson, the sales manager. He made no attempts to compensa already cost $7500+ in repairs as components keep failing. Called about this and spoke with Tyson, the sales manager. He made no attempts to compensate or take responsibility for their product aside from offering to take it as a trade in. Will not be buying from this dealer again. Edit: just found out they gave us a set of tires that expired for four years prior to them selling the car to us. There was a promo that every vehicle came with a free set of winter tires, so they put those on the car and then must have swapped the all seasons it had on when we bought it with the expired set and tossed them in the back. Classy. More
Sales guy Rob made me an offer on a car, thought it was an OK deal so I agreed. Suddenly his boss is calling me demanding $2000 more that I don't have. Then they tell me they won't honour the free delivery an OK deal so I agreed. Suddenly his boss is calling me demanding $2000 more that I don't have. Then they tell me they won't honour the free delivery they advertised, they want me to pay more or drive nine hours round trip to pick it up. Sleazeball behaviour. Don't trust this dealership. More
Worst experience of my life. I was in a car accident and needed to purchase a new vehicle. I found one I liked only to be swamped with problems to fix right off the bat, including needing a new engine. They didnt disclose to me that the vehicle was a loaner car that burnt oil. 3.2 l in under 2 months to be exact. It needed a engine, no action was taken when I addressed the situation. Ill be seeking further council, I'm out thousands. Buyer beware, they will lie right to your face to make a sale. I would have never bought it had I known it was a loaner for years before. I'm out thousands as a single Mom, run don't walk AWAY from this dealership. More
We received a phone call and a letter from the dealership and decided to check out their interest in our 2018 Tucson and find out the pricing on a new replacement Tucson. The staff were pleasant and explain and decided to check out their interest in our 2018 Tucson and find out the pricing on a new replacement Tucson. The staff were pleasant and explained things well after talking to us about our wants and needs. Unfortunately, the bottom line on a mid to low range Tucson was more money than we wanted to spend. Our current 2018 Tucson is in excellent condition with leather, extended sun roof roof, heated seats front and rear, electric seat control and new all weather tyres. The trade in offere was considerably lower than we anticipated. More
Buyer beware! Sales manager Craig Chadderton tried to make it mandatory that I pay 8,000 extra for “ceramic coat/3m” products on my new car purchase. And pay 1,7 Sales manager Craig Chadderton tried to make it mandatory that I pay 8,000 extra for “ceramic coat/3m” products on my new car purchase. And pay 1,795 “all weather” pkg. wow!! Also, tried to charge me a finance rate of 1 1/2 points higher than Hyundai offers. He offered me 8,000 fir my trade (non-negotiable). Going to another Hyundai dealer I received 9,500 for my trade, I didn’t even tell them what I had been offered elsewhere. So, overall I saved myself 10,000 by not buying from penticton Hyundai. Thank goodness I was in the business and knew what he was doing. Buyer beware! More
I purchased my 2007 Santa Fe from this dealership in 2007. Penticton Hyundai included free oil changes as long as I owned the vehicle to a maximum of three per year as long as I owned the vehicle. I’v 2007. Penticton Hyundai included free oil changes as long as I owned the vehicle to a maximum of three per year as long as I owned the vehicle. I’ve been having the oil change there since 2007. The dealership was recently sold to Harris Auto group. When my wife went to the scheduled oil change appointment the manager informed her that they would not be honouring this contract anymore. I went in this morning and Charlie Dye, the fixed operations director told me the same thing and that he would give me only one more oil change to honor the contract. I informed him that was ridiculously inadequate as I fully intend to keep the vehicle for another decade. The said contract is straightforward and explicitly states free oil changes as long as I own the vehicle. After some heated argument they told me to leave the premises. I called head office for Harris Auto Group, the new owner and complained directly. My only remaining option is to complain to the Vehicles Sales Authority, the relgulatory body that looks at unethical vehicles sales practices. When you purchase an existing business, you are buying not only the assets and client list but also the outstanding liabilities and contractual obligations. By not honouring this promotional contract Penticton Hyundai and Harris Auto Group are demonstrating extremely poor customer service and engaging in my view in an unethical business practice. I had been considering buying a Hyundai or Honda hybrid there but I certainly won’t buy it through this dealership. Shame on you for not honouring your contracts. More
They don’t honor contracts. Very very poor customer service. We waited 6months after ordering a car only to have the total price upped by 8000 dollars when it arrived.
