December 27, 2024 I am Jun, writing regarding my Mazda CX-5 regarding the 20,000 km service performed on the vehicle. After reviewing the service receipt, it is evident that some of the charges and work p CX-5 regarding the 20,000 km service performed on the vehicle. After reviewing the service receipt, it is evident that some of the charges and work performed were unnecessary, lacked proper justification, or were not communicated beforehand. In addition, I have noted that other customers have raised similar complaints regarding unnecessary services, excessive labor charges, and a lack of communication at your dealership. This appears to reflect a recurring issue that warrants immediate attention. Specific Concerns and Observations: Engine Oil & Filter Replacement Description: Synthetic oil and filter replacement as part of routine maintenance. Charges: $52.10 for synthetic oil, $13.95 for the oil filter, and $313.40 for labor (which includes a multi-point inspection). Concerns: While the oil and filter costs are reasonable, the labor charge of $313.40 is excessive for a routine oil change and inspection. Multi-point inspections are typically bundled into regular maintenance at no extra cost, so it is unclear why this labor charge is so high. Brake De-Glazing and Service Kit Description: De-glazing of brake pads and rotors, along with the use of a brake service kit. Charges: $23.15 for the brake service kit (parts). Concerns: De-glazing is not a standard service at 20,000 km unless there are specific brake issues, such as noise or reduced braking performance. No such issues were communicated or justified. The brake service kit charge of $23.15 seems unnecessary for a relatively new vehicle, especially without any prior evidence of excessive wear or braking issues. Environmental Disposal Fee Charges: $14.99 Concerns: While this fee is standard, it is slightly higher than industry averages, which are typically around $8–$12. Terraclean Fuel Treatment Description: Added without consultation or explanation. Charges: $14.99 Concerns: Fuel system treatments are not required for a vehicle with only 20,000 km unless specific performance issues (e.g., reduced fuel efficiency or misfiring) are present. No such issues were reported or communicated. Other customers have reported similar concerns about being charged for unnecessary fuel treatments. Cabin Air Filter Replacement Description: Replaced due to being "dirty" after 12 months. Charges: $41.75 (parts) and $49.50 (labor). Concerns: Cabin air filters generally need replacement every 24 months or 24,000–48,000 km, depending on environmental conditions. The labor charge of $49.50 for this task is excessive, as replacing a cabin air filter is a simple process that typically takes only a few minutes. Four-Wheel Alignment Description: Performed due to "uneven tire wear." Charges: $149.95 Concerns: Alignment at 20,000 km is typically unnecessary unless specific issues such as pulling or vibration are observed. Minor uneven wear is not a sufficient reason to undertake such costly work without warning of the cost involved. Overall Issues: Excessive Labor Costs: The labor costs for routine tasks, such as the oil change and cabin air filter replacement, are significantly higher than industry norms. Unnecessary Services: Several services, including brake de-glazing, the brake service kit, and fuel treatment, were either unnecessary for a one-year-old vehicle with 20,000 km or were performed without adequate justification. Lack of Communication and Transparency: None of these additional services were communicated or approved by the owner. This lack of transparency denies the owner the opportunity to make informed decisions about the work being performed on their vehicle. Recurring Complaints: Other customers have raised similar issues regarding unnecessary services and excessive labor charges, suggesting a broader pattern of dissatisfaction that req More

Service Department its a Rip-off Really bad and expensive service. I told them before going with them that my screen didn't worked and everything related to it, like the rear camera Really bad and expensive service. I told them before going with them that my screen didn't worked and everything related to it, like the rear camera, the bluetooth functions, the GPS, the radio and the stereo. They told me to bring in the car What i didnt expected is that they were going to try to charge me 1387.90 CAD plus taxes if i wanted them to fix this with them. The issue was that i had to pay 148.96 CAD just to bring in my car with them, even if i was there for 15 minutes. Totally Rip-off and awful service. More
