I had a very disappointing experience with Oakland Ford, primarily due to how they handled a pricing issue. My brother and I visited the dealership on Saturday, April 11, where we were assisted by Saad, primarily due to how they handled a pricing issue. My brother and I visited the dealership on Saturday, April 11, where we were assisted by Saad, the sales representative, who then introduced us to James Southworth, the New Vehicle Manager. James provided us with a quote for a 2026 Ford F-150 XLT and was confident his price wouldn’t be beaten. After comparing with another dealership and confirming their price was slightly better, I called back just before 5 PM (closing time) to proceed. We were told to come back in, and they stayed open for us. We arrived around 5:30 PM, ready to finalize the deal. While waiting for the paperwork, James stepped away several times and went back and forth with the management team, with no explanation provided to us. After waiting until approximately 6:00–6:30 PM, Lou Machado, the General Sales Manager, told us to go home and that they would “take care of it” for us on Monday. On Monday, I followed up expecting to complete the purchase, only to be told around 10am the vehicle was “sold.” The explanation given was that it belonged to a “sister company” and had been sold on Saturday—which does not align with what we were told in person. When I asked about alternatives, I was told there was another "similar" truck available, but at a higher price than the original quote of the other vechicle that they gave me. At that point, it became clear that the issue was not availability, but that the originally quoted price was not going to be honored. What’s most concerning is not the pricing error itself, but the lack of transparency. Instead of addressing the situation directly, we were asked to leave and return on Monday, then given inconsistent explanations over the phone on Monday, and not honored the price quoted — I still have documentation of the original quote. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this dealership and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. More
