I recently purchased a used AWD vehicle from Northstar Hyundai and my experience was disappointing. It was expressed to me that the vehicle had received new tries prior to the sale. However, after taking Hyundai and my experience was disappointing. It was expressed to me that the vehicle had received new tries prior to the sale. However, after taking the vehicle to an outside mechanic, I was informed that the tires installed on the vehicle are not suitable for an AWD system and are putting excessive stress on the drivetrain. I am not sure if this was done to save money on the dealerships end or due to unqualified personnel replacing the tires. When I spoke with the dealership to resolve the issue and request that they replace the tires I was told that they had no responsibility to ensure that the tires installed by their employees wouldn't damage the vehicle and in their opinion they were considered "safe" and therefore passed the internal inspection. I question the reliability of the safety inspection process considering the damage that this could cause to the vehicle. More
I took my car because it had a brake recall (they gave me a bill of $2000 for the brakes, I didn't pay because it was a recall) and I told them that the car had a sound, they told me it was the pulley, they a bill of $2000 for the brakes, I didn't pay because it was a recall) and I told them that the car had a sound, they told me it was the pulley, they changed it and the car was losing power with I took the changes again and they said it was an engine problem that they were going to change it and I would only pay for the test. Two weeks later they called me that the engine change was not approved (when they had already told me that it was approved) they returned the car with the engine disassembled, they lost parts and I filed a complaint and they said that they had never inspected my car when I took it for the brake recall and I still have the invoice that they charged without checking anything. Nobody took responsibility for anything. They wanted me to pay extra money to assemble the engine and I told them No that they should give me the car as I had delivered it and in the end they refused and said no. I took the car to another workshop and there they checked that the engine was not the bad one and since the dealer had lost the parts it could not be assembled, I had to buy another engine and in the end Hyundai was not responsible for anything. very bad experience mine with this dealer More

Also they tried to sell me a vehicle without a block heater which is kind of a requirement in north/central Alberta, so definitely ask on that. A number of mistakes caused the vehicle to be ready an entire day late—I received an apology but nothing to compensate me. More
We are really enjoying our new 2024 Tucson, I do worry about all the warranty as our new salesman unfortunately was not able to answer all our questions (new at his job). Albert was helpful when we were feeling frustrated and so was Man. I also felt that someone should have gone through the vehicle more with us before we drove away, we had no floor mats and one of the tire wrenches were missing. The dealership did not offer any deals or breaks for buying a new vehicle but I guess that is how business is run now days. Thank goodness the Tucson has a great manual to help explain the ins and outs of the vehicle. I have wanted a Tucson for a long time so I hope I am not disappointed. More

Things started off good when we purchased our 2024 Tucson but then went sideways after we found out the finance guy lied to us about the Smart Plan. I wasn't even interested at first but when he said it cove but then went sideways after we found out the finance guy lied to us about the Smart Plan. I wasn't even interested at first but when he said it covered up to 7 windshields if the chips were to big to be repaired and that the windshield was worth about 1200.00 each. That alone sold us on buying the plan not to mention it had a few other things it covered. Three weeks or so later we took a good size rock to the windshield. Think no big deal we are covered until we call and find out the max coverage was $4,000. which barely covers 3 windshields let alone 7! The wife questioned the finance guy who sold us the plan about it and all he had to say is that the cost of the winshields will come down in time and it was no big deal. I read the poorly written brochure or whatever you call it that he give us at the time of the sale and no where on there does it mention the max amount nor did it on their website anywhere. Asked the salesperson for the managers email twice before he forwarded my email to his manager who did give me the GM's email. Sent him an email outlining how I felt we were misled and nothing but crickets for a couple weeks until I sent another telling him how I really felt and how I would make sure to let others know about the scam. Right away he replied to that one saying he was out of the country and just got back. I told him that it was great that as a GM he could go on holidays for weeks and not even have an autoresponder set up. I was a GM and my wife still is and neither of us could do that. I did tell him it might be a good idea to use one the next time so that people don't think they are being ignored. I honestly think he either wasn't out of town and just ignored me or was away and ignored me condoning what his employee did. Since then I have made a point to steer customers away from this dealership and so far have suceeded in 2 and will have number 3 before Christmas. As for the car it's pretty good, we have a couple issues and it will be awhile before we see how durable the motor is since it's a fairly new design. Oh and I did contact Hyundai directly and I'm guessing they don't read the message because all they said was the windshield isn't covered under warranty duh!!! More
