Miscellaneous Costs First and last time to have my vehicle serviced there. Nobody likes miscellaneous costs. I booked my appointment was quoted what the work would cost but when I went to pick it up there is a miscellaneous cost a little over 10% of the quoted price. I was told it was a imposed government fee that everyone charges. When I said I had not paid it before as a miscellaneous charge. The response was simply that lots of shops just incorporate it into their price (ie not miscellaneous but up front - no surprises) but we like to do it this way. Shady on price estimates lends me to question how you will be dealt with if there is a serious problem. Better places to have your vehicle serviced. More

My experience in Northtstar Ford is totally a night mare. I'm a new comer here from China. After two weeks i have landed Calgary, i decided to lease a ford car. My friend bring me to North star Ford. I'm a new comer here from China. After two weeks i have landed Calgary, i decided to lease a ford car. My friend bring me to North star Ford. I asked them to offer me a brand new car with AWD, Heat seat, Remote Start and Heat block. I told them the house i ranted did not have a garage for parking car inside and i have no low temperature experience before. they recommended me a 2105 FORD Edge SEL. I accepted and deposit 1000 dollars for the first step to order it. About 4 days later, they told me the car is arrived. So i went there to have a look at my new car. But i fond that the car has been drove for more than 1100 KM. It's not a brand new car, it is a demo car which is other car dealers told me. I argued with them, but the manager said if it has not been registered, it is definitely a brand new car even it has been drove 10,000 KM, and i can't cancel that contract. What a shame! Then after i have paid all the money to lease it, i drove back to my home. I tried to test the remote starter. But i could not find it. They forgot to order it for me!!! I contacted them immediately and i was told the contract did not has such detail. Their financial department told me i need pay another $450 to install a separate remote starter. after that day, i call them abut 5 times, leave voice message, mail to told them contact with me. None one call me, They forgot me. So about 10 days later, i have to drop in. At first the sale man told me the price to install a separated remote starter is not $450, is about$ 720. I have to meet the manager of that day. He told me the price he checked is about $800. Three persons in same company give me 3 different prices about the same thing, could you understand? What a chaos price system!!! Finally, they asked me pay $450 to install a separate remote Starter. Sorry, North star Ford, you lost about $350 profit at that day. One month later, new problems came. My phone suddenly lost connection to the car Bluetooth system. I tried lots phones to connect that car, all failed. I know that is not my phone's problem. I tried reset back to factory setting and master reset on the screen menu. All failed. That car should has some bug in it's Bluetooth system. I send it back to North star Ford. They fixed it for me. But two weeks later, i lost phone connection again. I sent it back again. They fixed for me, and i asked how they fixed it, they said there is no data error warning in the system, so they just remove the battery power connection to make a hardware reset. Unfortunately, two weeks later, my phone lost connection for the third time. Then i have to drove back again. they fixed it again. I asked did they try different way to fixed it, they said: No. There is no data error report in the system, so the only way they could do is remove battery power connection to make a hardware reset. Yes, there is no data error report in the system, but the fact is there is something wrong. Can you report it to Ford factory? No, you can call the factory custom service hotline, i was told. The same problem keep happens, they use the same solution to fixed it. They want me keep driving back every two weeks? Now i am waiting for the Fourth phone disconnection. By the way, my friend waited more than three months to get his referral fee. It should have been forgotten again, even after my remind to them for 6 times in the last 20 days. That's is my story in North star Ford Calgary, an experience totally full of set up, dishonest, careless, irresponsible or shirk responsibility, chaos and some discrimination. This was the first time for us to purchase a new car from a dealership, we had to go back three times before we finally made up our mind, and Nicole has been very patient with us. Ford has good deals and their new 2016 explorer is very easy to drive, comfortable to sit in and beautiful to look at. The young Finance lady (Cassandra) is also very nice, helpful and accountable.
