Cannot speak too thoroughly for service centre, but small additions were done on sked and appear to be done well. Ali was great, and answered questions very up front and forward. Enjoyed the purchase experience. More

I've leased two vehicles through Norden over the past 5 years and never had anything but positive experiences with the purchase and service processes. I dealt with Nissan previously, and have found the VW experience far lower pressure, with higher standards of service. I'd definitely recommend Norden and VW vehicles to anyone. More
Fake/Scam Loss Leader Ads "Just Sold Today" Saw a good deal on a low mileage VW. Emailed to ask a question about the car and got the standard "That one just sold 45 mins ago...what number can I call you to tell you about similar vehicles that are thousands of dollars more than the price you saw..." Unfortunate that VW is resorting to this. I HATE the loss leader scams, and refuse to deal with a dealer that uses them. More
Lackluster customer experience, but I bought a car anyways After months of contemplating on what type of car I wanted, I opted for a VW. My father owned a 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel that lasted him until 45 After months of contemplating on what type of car I wanted, I opted for a VW. My father owned a 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel that lasted him until 450,000km, and it was still fine to drive, he just needed an upgrade. Long story short, I wanted a VW Golf. I was opting for new because of the great financing options (Volkfest) they offered in October. So I started dealing with my ex-accountant sales person John. We test drove a couple of different Golf's, until we sat back down at his desk to discuss what I liked. That's when things got uncomfortable. This is when a "member" (who turned out to be a boss of his) sat down next to him and began asking me questions about the vehicle, and what they could do to get me into a car that day. After realizing I wasn't going to buy one right away, he asked me how I'd rate the car from 1-10 (an odd question). I said I wanted more cargo room in a vehicle, so he asked if I'd consider the VW Golf SportWagen. I said I wouldn't mind taking it for a test drive. I could instantly see the lack of excitement in Johns face. We'd been on 2 or 3 test drives already, and I could tell he didn't want to go on another one. He just wanted to sell me something. So our SportWagen test drive was, needless to say, pretty short. After much deliberating for a week or two, I decided that I wanted a Used Golf TDI, preferably in the SportWagen if it was available. I was finding them difficult to come by. That's when I noticed a 2011 Golf TDI that was recently traded in. I was also interested in a couple TDI's at Southgate Volkswagen, and was speaking with a salesperson there who knew their Volkswagens...and I could tell was passionate about them. Unfortunately, the used TDI at Southgate had sold already, and I needed a vehicle quickly, so I opted for the one at Norden. And then the Sales gimmicks began. It was late afternoon on a Friday, and I wasn't planning on buying the car unless I got the deal that I wanted. I knew I could wait it out a couple more weeks. But after a bunch of back and forth with John, I kept telling him that I could get a better interest rate at my bank because I have a large line of credit. He kept going back to finance to get better interest rates when I kept saying "no", until finally, I gave in and just signed the papers at the "best rate" they could offer me. At one point, he even tried to act like my financial advisor and tell me the same xx that every car salesperson will tell you; that you're better off financing a vehicle and investing your money than to pay cash for it. Of course I know this. I don't need a car salesman to tell me that. What I was trying to drill through his head was that their interest rate was still higher than what I could get on my bank line of credit. A few days later, I came to pick up the car. It had been (somewhat) detailed, it had a flat Left front tire replaced, and a new windshield to replace the cracked one. (They can't sell a windshield in that bad of condition). But for some reason, on that day, I was passed over to Johns partner "Mo". When I asked him where the Owners manual was...he had no idea. When I asked him where the missing trunk cover was for the hatchback...he had no idea. This brought me back to a few days earlier when I kept asking John if the car had had the DSG Transmission fluid changed recently....and he had no idea. I still have received no phone calls on the whereabouts of the trunk cover. I've received no info on the missing Owners manual. I was told to just download one and print it out. I at least expected a phone call a couple of weeks after the deal to ask how the car has been and whether I'm happy with it. Nope, none of that. All in all, it was a poor customer service experience. Maybe it was because I opted out of every single extended warranty/protection package/upgrade package that the finance department tried coercing me into the day I picked it up...but what do I know. Needless to say, I'm happy with the car, and I'll be buying my next one at Southgate Volkswagen (Matt is a phenomenal sales person) or even Sherwood park Volkswagen if it ends up being a good experience. The service I got at Norden VW, I would expect from a GM dealer. Not from a VW dealer. Too bad. More
Good Service Experience After reading some of the negative reviews here on DealerRater, I was nervous bringing in my car for a major service. I bought a used Jetta at Norden After reading some of the negative reviews here on DealerRater, I was nervous bringing in my car for a major service. I bought a used Jetta at Norden about a year ago and this would be my first major service experience. I didn't expect 'gold' service since I didn't pay much for the car, but I have no complaints. They were on time, courteous, professional, attentive, and did what they said they'd do. They gave me a loaner. They answered my questions. They had the service done in about 7 hours. When I asked, the parts guy explained the difference between steel and alloy wheels, detailed tire wear, talked about the brown metallic paint on the Jetta in the showroom, and noted the 15-odd shades of white paint that VW offers. My tires were bagged and in the clean car. They explained my bill. They showed where my car was in the lot. They even shared with me how the system they use has the mechanics marking the parking spot on a card that gets handed to the service consultants. I dealt with six employees; all courteous and professional. My car is great. I suppose service can't be perfect for everyone all the time, but I have nothing to complain about in my experience today and recommend Norden. More
