Wasted time, money, and energy I went on a holiday Monday. My first sales rep, Derek, kept taking phone calls and seeing other clients while I was dealing with him. They also had on I went on a holiday Monday. My first sales rep, Derek, kept taking phone calls and seeing other clients while I was dealing with him. They also had only one of the six used vehicles advertised online that I was interested in actually on the lot. After a couple of hours of alternating between being told that they did not have the vehicle in the ad and being asked to wait while Derek dealt with yet another phone call/client, I was transferred to a different sales rep, Kayla. Less interruptions with Kayla. From the time I was switched to Kayla, it still took something like half an hour to get the first car that I liked (and that was available) for a test drive. After some discussion, we started looking at new cars, and after yet another weirdly long wait, I got to test drive the car that I ultimately bought. I was then left waiting in the waiting room for well over an hour before being brought up to speak to financing. All in all, I spent about 6.5 hours at Norden VW and only test drove two cars then purchased one. I went to register the car and discovered that VW had not provided me with a form (original required) essential to the registration process for a new car. When I called to ask about this, the receptionist put me through to a department voicemail three times before I instructed her to put me on hold and get someone on the line. To their credit, they drove the form over. The day my remote car starter was installed, I was told I couldn't pick it up because it had to be brought back from the garage and cleaned. I got a call the next day that my car was back at Norden and ready for pick up immediately, so I cabbed it over only to find what looked like scratches all over my dirty car. The lines that appeared to be scratches actually turned out to be streaks of glue from the installation process which they had not bothered to wash off. The rep I was with, Tim (/Tom?) tried to tell me that my car had been washed the day before prior to the remote car starter being installed. I wound up spending over an hour at Norden VW for what was supposed to be an immediate pick up. I received a voicemail tonight at 9:02pm from James at VW advising me that the financier was refusing to finance me unless I switched over my Manitoba license to an Alberta license. Alternatively, I was told in the message that I could get financing from a different institution at a higher interest rate. Please note, my first car payment is due on Monday, so they have given me exactly one business day in which to find the time to go down to the registrars, to get an out-of-province driver's abstract (standard timeframe is two to five days), and to pay to switch over my license (which I was not told prior to signing the contract that I'd have to do in order to get the car and which the Albertan gov doesn't require me to do for 90 days). Or apparently, I can pay them far more money. I may very well wind up with a voided contract here since apparently Norden VW thinks it's acceptable to drop last minute requirements that alter the terms of contract. Save yourself a potentially massive headache and stay the xxxx away from this dealership. More
First Visit Went to Norden for a test drive today. Called ahead to make sure car was available and called again before heading there just to make sure. When we Went to Norden for a test drive today. Called ahead to make sure car was available and called again before heading there just to make sure. When we arrived, sales rep wasn't available, so we were given a different sales rep (okay, no big deal). That rep was reasonably helpful and provided info for trade-in and what we were looking for in a vehicle, but seemed distracted, however got us going on a test drive. When we returned, we were told that sales rep was busy now (3rd rep in one visit!). This rep was the least engaged, and we had to provide our information for trade-in again and re-describe what we were looking for, which took quite a while. Talked about price and trade-in, but when we told him we weren't going to buy today, he went to talk to the sales manager and when he came back he stopped negotiating and told us to (paraphrasing) come back when we are "serious" and maybe there is something more they can do. It seemed that since we weren't going to help meet sales targets, there were better opportunities out there. I felt like not only was I not a priority, but that my business wasn't welcome or valuable. More
Horrible sales experience We are now living in the year 2017 and you would think that women should be treated just as equal to men when purchasing a car, heck money is money, b We are now living in the year 2017 and you would think that women should be treated just as equal to men when purchasing a car, heck money is money, but this is not the case at Norden. My husband went to Noreen to check out a car we had seen online, negotiated a price, was asked for a credit card to hold the car at that price so I could come take a look the next day. This was my purchase, I would be making the payments not my husband, so my husband did not give them our credit card to hold because this was my decision in the end. However, I contacted the same salesmen and set up an appointment to view the car, everything went great, but then when I went to ask what kind of deal they would give me because I know the deal they were going to give my husband, they refused to make any kind of deal and actually wanted to charge me 2000$ more to get more warranty. I asked about the offer my husband was and them settled on and they told me that it was not a firm offer and my husband was mistaken. Then the sales manager came out to explain the situation and he did not even speak to me but instead asked if we could call my husband to talk about the offer. I phoned my husband and on speaker phone the sales manager asked him how they could get him in this car and what could they offer him to purchase the car. Not what can we offer you and your wife or actually your wife actually he should have been asking me what they can offer because again this was my purchase not my husbands. My husband told them we were no longer interested and then basically that was that they did not want to deal with me any further. I left very upset. I didn't know that being a woman in 2017 made car sales experiences so terrible. Again money is money regardless if it comes from a man or woman, but I guess this is not the case at this dealership.
