Brought car in for oil & filter change/ tire rotation. Told them there was a shake in my wheel and to check if it was the brake pads (which are under lifetime warantee). Told the service manager that I did NOT want to spend money to get the car fixed at this time if it was not under wantratee. I also told him that I would be bringing the car somewhere else to fix the problem because I wanted to save money and GM is more expensive than the alternate location that I would be getting my car fixed. I then re-explained that if it was NOT the brake pads- DO NOT do any work so that I can save $. In the end, I got charged 63$ for them to check out what was wrong with the car. It may be that the company has to pay the mechanic for figuring out what it wrong with a vehicle HOWEVER, it would have been COMMON COURTESEY to advise me, the customer, (who specifically stated to NOT do any additional work to the car) that it would cost me up 64$ in labor to check it out. Their bill has been paid, and I guess it was my fault for being naive. I should have known that they would try to sqeeze every penny they can, because they have done it before. Like the time they sold me the car and told me the warantee was for 160,000 kn or 5 years. That ended up being a big battle, in the end, the salesman had misunderstood the warantee package and I am the one who suffered the consequences, because my car has not been reliable since the first month that I bought it brand new. There was also another time when they did brake work AND charged me for a tire rotation. I did not know any better until my husabnd pointed out that they need to take the the tires off anyway to do brake work and it didn't make sense for them to charge extra for a rotation when they had to put the tires back on anyway. Needless to say, this is not the first time that they have screwed me over but it will be the last. They will never ever see me in their building again. More
