Dishonest business that also own Scuffs in a Rush in Stittsville. They were supposed to replace and paint my bumper but repaired it poorly instead and the color doesn't match. They just blow you off wit Stittsville. They were supposed to replace and paint my bumper but repaired it poorly instead and the color doesn't match. They just blow you off with no intention of making it right. Mitch Coutu was investigated for stealing down payments from the Ford dealership he lost. Stay away from Mitch Coutu and Nikki Novotny. When I bought my car, I was told that the only way that I could purchase the extended warranty was if I also paid for a $750 premium inspection, which would identify and correct any conditions that existed at the time of purchase. After paying for this service, I picked up my car, and immediately saw that there was a broken headlight, the cruise control was not functional and the check engine light was on. To make a long story shorter, I was without my car for 7 months, while they tried to fix problems that should have been identified during that $750 premium inspection. They also billed the insurance company (extended warranty) for many of these repairs, which is suggestive of why they might not have done them on their own in the first place. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and as soon as the BBB saw that March Group was interested in settling up with me, they closed the file. March Group promptly stopped all efforts to settle with me afterwards. I cannot say strongly enough just how negative an experience it was in trying to work with the March Group. More
Once has collected money - does not care about customer I am not one to "cyber Complain" but in this case, wanted to make sure others do not make the same mistake I did. I have all documentation and commu I am not one to "cyber Complain" but in this case, wanted to make sure others do not make the same mistake I did. I have all documentation and communication in emails, documents or text to prove all info so March Group can deny all they want, it is in written format. Back ground -> Purchased a car on June 30, 2016 from the March Group, in Ottawa, Canada. A contingency of car being purchased was to fix and paint the front bumper. I was provided with a document signed by March Group indicating the front bumper was repaired and painted. When I picked up the car, the sales person "Tim Percival" informed they have their own group that takes care of this work and that the company has a 1 year guarantee on their work. He and the manager “Mike” bragged about the paint work performed and how good it looked as they showed it to me when I picked up the car. Issue -> I noticed this spring (May) that all of the clear coast is pealing/pitting from the front bumper. I reached out to the dealer, spoke to the manager "Shane McInnes" and explained the issue (Condition of bumper and the paperwork provided by them showing they painted the front bumper) . He agreed that this would be covered given the condition of the bumper. He sent me to the company that he says they typically use for painting who could confirm this as they do not have any paperwork on any work performed on cars they own and sell. I found this strange but did proceed as requested. I reached out to the company “Scuffs in a Rush” where I spoke with the Manager at the paint shop, "Josh Denault". Josh was very courteous and genuinely wanted to help. I provided him with pics of the bumper where he agreed this was poor work. He said they had no record of any work being performed after providing him with the VIN number but then upon receiving a copy of the documentation showing it was painted through March Group dealership (signed by them) , he agreed this should be covered by the dealer even if his company did not perform the work. Josh agreed that the document clearly outlined March Group painted the bumper. Josh indicated he would speak to the GM at the dealer who was to get back to me to arrange for repair. I never heard back. I then reached back to Josh informing him no one contacted me where he apologized and then informed that the GM told him the car was painted before they received the car for sale so were not responsible. Further, he stated the wording “Repair front scratches and paint” on the document actually meant “minor touch-up paint with a pen” instead. Further, the person who signed the document form them does not work in the body shop. Honestly, I have no idea who works were and nor did I care when I bought the car, As long as it was on their paper and signed by them, that is all I cared about. There is a big difference from Pen touch-up to Paint the bumper as far as I am concerned. The GM did not even have the decency to contact me as he was supposed to, and speak to me directly about this. My question to this is how can he say it was painted before they received it so it was not their fault (How does this even matter) , when I have a document stating they painted the front bumper before they sold it to me (and an email from their sales person back then showing this), and his own manager told me upon my first conversation with them, that they do not keep records of work performed on car. This clearly demonstrates that he did not want to take any time looking into the situation and was merely looking to dismiss me. I have it in writing that they painted the front bumper. Even if it was painted beforehand they painted the bumper which now has all of the clear coat peeling off. After speaking again with Josh, he informed me that he understood the situation and told me there must have been some misunderstanding from the GM on the situation, and that he would reach out to him and have him contact me. Again, for the second time, I never heard back from March Group. I have had to follow-up from my end by leaving several messages as March Group has never got back to me. It is now a week that I have been trying to get answers/support on this from March Group but nothing. I am told the GM is not available or "Busy". Summary -> I have to admit that the original purchasing experience was extremely frustrating to begin with. Once an all in final price was agreed upon, they then tried to hit me with several “after the fact charges” such as a $450 admin fees for walking around the car and ensuring nothing was broken which they did not perform as once I got home to show my wife the car, she noticed the rear vents were missing so had to immediately return back and schedule a time to get this fixed. They even tried to double bill me for car proof documentation with an additional hidden fee ( I have emails showing this was the case) .. I reminded them that adding all these admin fees was no longer legal in Ontario. When I argued, they stated this was their typical practice. Once I asked for my deposit back, only they then decided to back down and honor the agreed upon price. I should have realized there would be issues down the road with this dealer based on the initial dealings and SHOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY then. All I am seeking is for the dealer to make right and honor their work by fixing the paint on the front bumper. UPDATE: I went to the BBB and filed a complaint. I heard back approx a half week later from the dealer that they would repair the issue. It has been taken care off and I am hapoy with the follow-up. Cheers More
Terrible experience At the risk of being labelled **A Cyber Bully**, I feel it important to share my experiences using this review tool. Brutal experience. Specifics asid At the risk of being labelled **A Cyber Bully**, I feel it important to share my experiences using this review tool. Brutal experience. Specifics aside - all I wanted to do was buy a car and move on... instead, i'm left to TRY (ignore emails/calls/ attempts to rectify) and deal with people who share a complete indifference to a customer once the money has been received. - Checked car out every other day for two weeks, dealt with Pierre each time. Test drove car three times during this time span. - Purchased car - Received car a few days later, signed paperwork, drove away. - Got home and noticed DOZENS of dents on hood and trunk - Brought back to dealership (20 mins of ownership), spoke to Pierre, who apologized and shared my frustration for "missing this". I was told that "they would take care of it". - Took 8 days for a PDR (paintless dent removal) appt. Pierre picked up my car and informed me that they would be able to fix all of the dents in one day. I came out of my office to find my car sitting back in my parking lot... no work completed...sent email (ignored), called (can't come to the phone) - Drove to dealership, to be faced with Alex (GM), who informs me that Pierre "misspoke and used the wrong verbiage" - and that they will not be paying for the repair. But "because we are reasonable", "we will pay 40%" because he believes that "I didn't make those dents myself in the 20 minutes of ownership". When I questioned why they aren't honoring their promises, I was then told...8 days later... after they said they'd fix it, after they took my car TO fix it... that the dents were now pre-existing. - "Can you show me a photo to prove that these dents were pre-existing, if so, I will walk away" = "no, but you can trust me". Unfortunate and unnecessary, but it appears that buying a car here was the wrong decision for me. This team (Pierre, Mitch & Alex) is very good at their job; if their job is to corner, backpedal, manipulate and ruin doing business in good faith... best of luck to the next guy... if you should choose March Group to buy your next car, I truly hope your experience is different than mine. I'm now having to move on to OMVIC and BBB to see if they can help me. I will repost any developments. FYI - March Group is under the same ownership as OKTire and March Ford. (i'm expecting Mitch will give a detailed and lopsided rendition of how ethical and reasonable they are...decide for yourself/ have a look at my profile/see any other posts?/I don't waste my time or go out of my way falsely accusing anyone). Bad surprises one month later Updated review, down to 2 stars from 5 ------------------------------------- One month after getting the car it needed a break job. Went back to ma Updated review, down to 2 stars from 5 ------------------------------------- One month after getting the car it needed a break job. Went back to march group and asked if we could split the cost down the middle since I've only had the car for a month. Short answer: no. Then went to another garage only to find out that the March Group didn't replace the exhaust spring bolt kit as agreed upon. Called the March Group back and go the same answer, they'd only help if the part was missing, not if it was close to end-of-life. Disappointed! Original ------------------ The guys at the March Group did everything right. I walked in, asked to test drive the Toyota Matrix and within a minute we were on the road. No pushy sales pitch, no annoying up-sales. After the drive I said that I had to try cars at other dealership and they simply said to call if they could be of assistance. That was it, no bull about "other people are looking at the car" or any other fear tactic to try to close a sale. So right off the bat the sales team left me with a good feeling, even though I generally hate the whole car buying experience and distrust car dealerships. Tried a couple other matrix at other dealerships and eventually put a bid on the March Group one. Again, price negotiation was civil with no endless back and forth. They took care of shuttling the car back and forth to my garage for a pre-sales inspection. A deposit had to be put on the car to show intent but no agreement nor contract had to be signed. With the pre-sales check out of the way, the purchase contract was signed and a delivery date picked. The car was ready at the appointed time. When I showed up I noticed scuff marks on the bumper and a scratch on a side panel that I though weren't there during the test drive. Even though it turns out they were pre-existing (I later checked the pictures on their web site, they could be seen), they offered to buff them out over the next couple of hours. Their shuttle service drove me to my job and picked me up, on schedule, at the end of the day. The repair was done as promised. All in all, a great experience: no pushy sale pitch, simple price negotiation, everything done on time. More
