I own a 2008 ford escape, that currently needs $800.00 worth of work. The steering shaft torque sensor went in it. You can only buy it from ford for $425.00, then about 3-4 hours of labour. When I googled this issue, apparently it is a recall for 2008-2011 ford escapes.. mine doesn't match the recall vin number but has the same issue. This should be looked into and possibly expanded to other vin numbers. Listowel Ford was equally as awful to deal with as it was to deal with Ford Canada. I was told a tech could verify it was that sensor but it costs $135. When it's been verified by 2 other parties. I am now out of a vehicle and won't be able to get to my physio and concussion therapy. More
