I saw a used Volvo advertised by them on CarGuru and although it needed repairs it was nothing I couldn't handle. Their ad also listed an amount for delivery. I rang them up and told them I'd take it for the price listed. They tried to slap on a $597.00 "documentation fee", $6.25 "admin fee", and $299.00 "security transfer". Now I don't blame the salesperson, Tatum, for this; she sounded quite young and inexperienced and it's conceivable that she was just doing as told. But the point is dealers shouldn't have "policies" that violate provincial regulations. In this case AMVIC's all-in pricing regulations. When I pointed out the violation, they bumped me over to Manita Baines and I had to argue with her now. She stalled with the dumbest things, like saying she couldn't go further until I provided my email address and a copy of my license - both of which they already had. They finally "agreed" to sell me the vehicle for the advertised price - the thing they're legally required to do. Then they petulantly put $798 under "accessories". When I asked about this, they said it was taxes. So why wasn't it on the taxes line, which showed zero? The way they fraudulently wrote it, I ended up having to pay the taxes on the purchase price AND the taxes I already paid as though the taxes were a material good that I bought from them. Then when it came time to ship the vehicle, they didn't. So the next day they had to hire a flatbed at a higher rate to send it to me, and tried to get me to pay the difference for the problem they created. I was still asking them to send an accurate invoice, rather than the fraudulent one that put "taxes" as "accessories", and they were still refusing, so they cut off communication. Except... It's been 3 years and every 6 months I get a cluster of emails from them demanding I fill out a "How was your experience?" review, including links to this site. So here, Lakewood. You've got your review. Now leave me alone. More
