In June, 2025, I purchased a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox from Lakeview Chrysler handled by their used car sales conman Roland Gallant. I purchased the vehicle on June 19 for $18, 919.10. Several days after this I happened to visit my nephew who has been a master mechanic for about 25 years. We hoisted the vehicle on the hoist in his personal garage and he immediately informed me that the vehicle should not have passed a Motor Vehicle Inspection due to extensive and extreme rust running the length of both rocker panels, seriously compromising the vehicle's structure. Subsequently I ordered a Motor Vehicle Inspection at a local independent garage in Lewisporte: their mechanic informed me that he would not have passed the vehicle for registration for several reasons, primarily the structural rust. I also had another MVI performed at Canadian Tire in Lewisporte. This MVI failed this 8-year old vehicle for seven different issues, six of which are repairable for maybe $2,000.-2,500 in total, and states the same major flaws although in a more detailed manner including “body rocker panels on vehicle completely gone---cannot hold weight of vehicle and was covered up with a small layer metal on the outside---there is large hole in body structure frame on rear driver side---NOT passable on safety inspection”. Coincidentally, his wording is almost exactly the same as one of Lakeview's own mechanics as in an internal Lakeview Chrysler Service Order for this vehicle: “found rockers on right and left side to be weak and not able to stand lifting of vehicle”. This unknown mechanic should have failed this vehicle on the spot and consigned it to the scrap heap as being unsafe and unroadworthy, and if not him, his seriously incompetent and negligent direct supervisor, Service Manager Steve Snook, should have had their General manager Kevin Dickey have the vehicle taken from Lakeview's inventory and scrapped. That they did not, but sold this vehicle represented on their own website and on AutoTrade as fully inspected, safe and roadworthy, is at a minimum grossly negligent and very probably criminal. Dickey absolutely refused a full refund when I finally tracked him down at Lakeview. Steve Snook is incompetent and negligent, their sales conman Roland Gallant was complicit in this misrepresentation, and then sold the vehicle knowing this, thus committing commercial fraud. And as every Newfoundlander knows, a fish rots from the head, and the head of Lakeview Chrysler is Kevin Dickey, firmly in control of every employee there. This is not a victimless crime; I am the victim, currently suffering severe emotional and mental stress caused by this company's reckless and fraudulent actions and will cause me extreme financial hardship unless I am able to obtain a a full refund for this defective vehicle, and at my age of 74, and on a poverty level fixed income, I would never be able to recover.. I lost enough money on this deal that i am now getting a lawyer to try and get my warrenty money back. Absouloutely terrible business, horrible service, nothing but crooks! In March of 2023 I purchased a 2015 Toyota Tundra with 94,578 kms along with a third party warranty that covers all powertrain, including but crooks! I was told at the time of purchase, the truck was inspected and "needs nothing". I started experiencing transmission problems within the first month of owning the truck, I then found out that the truck has had transmission trouble since August 2022 and was recommended by Toyota that the transmission be replaced (have all documents for proof). I returned the truck to lakeview multiple times over a 6 month period and they kept denying any issues and did not fix the truck. The truck now has 105,688 kms and the transmission is completely gone and the vehicle will no longer move, I'm now stuck paying off a 40,000 dollar loan for a vehicle that I can no longer use after only 11,090kms because Lakeview would not fix the issues that were present when they sold me the truck. Warranty refuses to cover the problem because it was there before lakeview sold me the truck and warranty, I have a copy of a quote I received from Toyota in Grand Falls-Windsor for the estimated cost of repairs ($15,000) Just a heads up for anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. I suggest you stay clear of Lakeview Chrysler in Gander,NL Nothing but pure crooks! More

Won’t fix manufacture defect I never rant on here but here goes . Back in October myself and Melissa had a new 2018 dodge ram truck delivered to us from LAKEVIEW CHRYSLER in Gande I never rant on here but here goes . Back in October myself and Melissa had a new 2018 dodge ram truck delivered to us from LAKEVIEW CHRYSLER in Gander at Goobies on a very foggy and rainy day. Of course we were like two kids in Santa’s work shop at the time and even though we did check out the truck and noticed that the tape on the back bumper was peeling off and I thought, well that’s nothing lots of warranty . So we sign the papers and are on our way cruising and singing back over the highway once more . So we get home, park in the driveway with our friends waiting for us to see our new truck and they all notice the ripples going back through the side of the box which was visible now that the truck is DRY !!!!!! So I call the dealership and they work with us but say that the truck was inspected before it left and it all looked fine so my reply was how come you never noticed the tape peeling off the bumpers or not to mention that the HEADLIGHTS FOG UP ALSO . So after a week of going back and forth with LAKEVIEW and CHRYSLER CANADA I brought the truck back to LAKEVIEW IN GANDER and had the head lights replaced which started to fog up again before we left LAKEVIEW and pictures were taken of the damage and we where told by the manager Kevin it was a ripples in the box and they would be contacting CHRYSLER to get this this fixed. He also told us that we would hear back from them in at least 3 days! Well it’s been weeks now and all We have been getting is the run around and the manager at LAKEVIEW Mr Kevin who we have left several messages for by myself and Melissa won’t even return our calls to let us know what is going on. I have spoke to CHRYSLER and they told me that they are waiting on LAKEVIEW and so on. My question is how come it takes so long to fix a manufacture defect in a new truck. My other question is who did the PDI on the unit at the dealership and never noticed all the defects? I guess it was raining that day also and it was hard to see in the rain....the same as the day 4 people who checked it out before it was delivered to me . I have had the quotes done on the truck and there is over $1000.00 of damage ....MANUFACTURE DAMAGE done to the truck and can’t get it fixed . I worked at sales for 15 years and always kept communication open with my customers as I was trying to help them. That way they don’t get tired of getting the run around and have to resort to bashing on social media which I never do and don’t like doing but I am tired off all this . Lakeview flagged my truck (A TRUCK THEY SOLD ME) with Chrysler Canada and got a suspension limitation put on my truck. They refused to do the work under warranty and told me that the lift was installed by Action Truck Caps in Gander and that if I had an issue I had to deal with Action. No, I'm sorry but I bought the truck off YOU, with everything already done. I am not dealing with Action when I didn't buy anything off of action. Terrible service all around, and it became pretty obvious to me that Kevin Dickey (dealer manager) would say whatever he had to say to make a deal and not stand by his word. Will not buy another truck off Lakeview and they are not the only dealer around to buy a lifted truck from so I will be taking my business elsewhere when its time for trade in. Can't believe a business wont stand by what they sell and warranty it........ terrible.... More
