Steve new condiitiion from Thompson Chrysler through Steve Hayes one month ago. My dealings with Steve were both professional and seemless in nature. Steve had the car brought in from Carleton Place overnight and we had a sales agereement in principle the next day, which included an acceptable trade in value for my old vechicle. I would highly recommend both Steve and Thompson Chrysler, in future.t More

I'm not sure how Thompson Chrysler and the used car dealer next door are connected (probably a service and repair shop conveniently beside each other), but my issue is with the used car chain beside wh dealer next door are connected (probably a service and repair shop conveniently beside each other), but my issue is with the used car chain beside which is Carloft. I initially was searching online for a suitable 4r 4wd pickup truck. I located one which was initially advertised online through Carloft. Long story short no one online or at the number who texted me could tell me where the vehicle was. I eventually saw it listed at a dealership in the Ottawa area. So I called the Napanee office of Carloft, and found it was in Ottawa area. I was also told it was pending. The sales guy Nick called me back to say he spoke to his GM and there wasn't firm deal on it so he got it brought down to the Napanee location so I could see it and take it for a spin. I visited the napanee office and had a walk around the vehicle. There were some visible signs of rust/bubbling under the paint around the rocker panels. II took it for a drive anyway, it seemed to drive ok on the highway but when I was off the highway and in town, I came to a light and it would drive anymore. I was fortunate enough to get it limped around the corner and to the Kingston office of carloft. I had called Napanee to informed them of my dilemma> They instructed me to if possible get it there and they'd call and I'd have something to drive back to Napanee. When I got back to Napanee they said they'd look into it and get back in touch. A few days later i topped in to ask about the truck. I was told they were still having it looked at when another individual came from the back office and informed both of us apparently that they were going to wholesale the truck and weren't going to sell it to anybody and that they'd only had had the truck for a couple of days. Also it was interesting to observe that the sales guy from the Kingston location said they kept the keys for cars over at Thompson Chrysler when He gave me another vehicle to drive back to Napanee. Today i see the same identical truck listed on Jim Thompson Chrysler's website for the same price. How Quaint?? After this experience with Carloft, knowing the one location is in in bed with Thompson Chrysler I'll not like deal with either one of them. I had some service and repair business some years ago way before COVID and they had one service manager there who was fantastic, he's since long gone. Since covid I've visited Thompson Chrysler to get parts etc. and the ambience and attitude of some people in that dealership has drastically changed. It was like I was an imposition to them it didn't feel very friendly. Just my recent experience with Carloft who seems in cahoots with Thompson Chrysler. More
Back in 2020, I saw this Red Ram 1500 online being sold by Jim Thompson Chrysler. I thought it looked good, so I reached out to them. I made it clear that I wasn't from the area, so I wouldn't be able to j by Jim Thompson Chrysler. I thought it looked good, so I reached out to them. I made it clear that I wasn't from the area, so I wouldn't be able to just pop over and take a look. I asked their sales guy to do a walkaround or me and check if there was any obvious damage, if yes send me pictures, if no, great! I was told the truck was in great shape, no damage at all. Since the dealership was pretty far from me and I was trading in my vehicle I was driving there, we agreed to the prices for trade and sale prior to me coming, so that I could just swap keys and drive home. Here's where things started to get weird. Despite being advertised by Jim Thompson Chrysler, it turned out the truck was actually being sold by some company next door called CarLoft. This should've been my first clue that something was off. When I finally got there, the truck had clear damage on the front quarter panel. You couldn't miss it. It was very obvious. The sales guy, meeting me there, admitted he saw the damage a day before but didn't tell me. He said he wanted me to see it in person, which just felt like another red flag to me. Sales pressure tactics 101, like to me, get me there... Despite being annoyed, the sales guy convinced me he'd get the damage fixed. He even brought in a younger manager at CarLoft who backed him up. I thought they'd keep their word, but that was a no-go. After I left, it was like I'd vanished. I called them a bunch of times, left messages to arrange the fix, but no one got back to me. In the end, I swapped the vehicle for an undamaged one at a local dealer. It wasn't much more expensive than fixing the panel on the damaged truck, punishment for trusting Jim Thompson Chrysler/Carloft, lesson learned. It was clear to me that Jim Thompson Chrysler and Carloft just don't care about customers once they've made the sale. That was going to be the end of it, but.... Earlier this week, and out of the blue, I get a call from Carloft. They said it was a "courtesy call" to check on the truck I didn't even have anymore and to tell me about their latest deals. Clearly the had zero intention of fixing the damages from the start or they would have noted my file. The call went sideways real quick when I brought up the past issue. The sales guy was just interested in making another sale, and he wasn't really listening to what I had to say. He even hung up on me, after saying it was a courtesy call. He called me on my work line and when he realised it was recorded he got real upset and hung up complaining it's illegal and other false, rude things like oh he has an appt waiting etc. They just don't care. If it's truely a courtesy call you'd stop trying to sell and look into fixing the issue. Not tell me unless you buy again from us there is no way for us to fix that issue.... Yes that is their excuse, spend more money so we can then account for the issue. Total garbage. I tried calling back and was told to email a guy named Kerry about my issues. I emailed Kerry, asking him to call me. No reply. I sent another email, and he asked me to write down all the details instead. When I asked if we could talk over the phone, he stopped replying. I even said it was a lot to write up, it's much easier to discuss in person but again like all other management he just ignored the request. So here's my advice: steer clear of Jim Thompson Chrysler and Carloft. They tell you what you want to hear and then treat you like trash after you pay them. 5 star reviews aren't what matters, it's when there are issues, how do the handle them? So sort by low reviews and look at their replies....scroll through and you will see, we don't have your name, this isn't what happened etc. Hope this saves someone some money, time and frustration. Worst service ever. Vehicle failed on side of the road. Obviously transmission issues. Anti lock break issues while driving, and transmission system failure message on d Vehicle failed on side of the road. Obviously transmission issues. Anti lock break issues while driving, and transmission system failure message on dash. Vehicle wouldn’t drive over 20km/hr without chugging, and Revving to 5000 RPM. Multiple errors reported and check engine light on. Jeep connect emailed to say service immediately. Towed to dealer. Dealer cleared codes and said it’s driving fine now. No service done. Sent me home with an unreliable vehicle that’s less than 2 hrs old. Not impressed at all with service dept, and clearly not honouring the warranty. Totally unacceptable service from Jim Thompson Chrysler. More
