Do not trust JP Subaru I brought my 2012 Subaru Legacy in for service. $4700 spent and I drove away with more check engine codes than I bought it in with. Had to tow the car back twice for a problem they caused yet after MONTHS at the dealership, they still couldn't fix the problem. P0171. The last time I picked up the car, I drove 1000klms before the same code came back. Absolute and complete incompetence! The fuel trim was running steady at over 30 and would drop under load then the last time I picked it up short term fuel trims would drop as I accelerate yet they tell me "we didn't do anything". Obviously someone did something... they tossed a couple of parts at the problem like a bunch of amateur mechanics. I got sick of dealing with the same problem caused by Jim Pattinson Subaru so I bought a 2019 rav 4 trail from Funks Toyota in Steinbach. It WAS worth the trip! After all this, I still need to bring the Subaru in to fix their @#$%up. Guess where I wont be taking it? More

Firstly, there was the he difficulty getting firm pricing for regular maintenance services (CVT, front & rear differential fluids). We spoke to three different people in service, who all provided different pricing for the same services. Second, after the service was performed, was the lack of detail in the ‘official’ invoice. When asked for specific clarification of the services performed, we were assured the service was performed as quoted (and charged), and “triple checked” by the technician. This next bit is really what prompted me to contact the Head Office, Service Manager, and subsequently write this review: After being quoted, charged, and assured the required maintenance was performed, it was found the rear differential had not been serviced (by a non-Subaru inspection). Not even a wrench had been on it. I can understand mistakes happen; however, the service manager was unapologetic after being provided photographic evidence, only offering to “redo” the services to which we had already paid for (and “reassured”) but not actually performed. Seems this misrepresentation of services performed is not all that concerning; subsequent email to service department goes unanswered, nor has management or Head Office bothered to follow up. Can you verify the service you paid for is actually being performed? It could mean the difference between a $400 scheduled fluid change and a $4000 CVT failure. Keep in mind when buying your next vehicle; there are only two authorized Subaru service centers in Winnipeg. More

A dealership that goes beyond duty When I brought in my 4 cylinder 2011 Outback for servicing in preparation for a road trip to Utah towing a Boler trailer (1300 lbs dry), it was discov When I brought in my 4 cylinder 2011 Outback for servicing in preparation for a road trip to Utah towing a Boler trailer (1300 lbs dry), it was discovered that the centre oil sensor was leaking. I had previously replaced both right and left sensors because of a similar leak. When I complained that three out of three was a rather poor record, they agreed. I was delighted to find a cheque reimbursing me for the amount when we returned home. This is true customer service and I am truly grateful! Subaru should do some market analysis in the state of Colorado, where it seems that every second vehicle on the road taming the Rocky Mountains in all sorts of weather (as only Colorado can throw at you) is a Subaru Outback. The vehicle is extremely popular in these parts as well as Utah, with good reason. This is an exceptional car that handles with confidence and ease the full gamut of weather and road conditions. I was even further delighted to discover that it is also backed by an excellent support and service network. Thanks Jim Pattison. Thanks Subaru! More

He listened to my concerns. He didn't get defensive. I could go on. I believe its important to hire people who are passionate about providing quality and Chris is one of those people. We could not have had a better Product Advisor than Monique Thompson, whom we found to be very knowledgeable of the entire Subaru line. We found her very helpful in reaching our decision. I have returned several times to ask various questions and Monique always has the right answers, and if Monique was not in, someone else was always willing to help. We were also very pleased with how we were treated by the Sales Mgr. Cal Sobering, and Financial Services Mgr. Shannon Vezey. After having our previous Outback (for 14 years) serviced at Subaru we know that our new Outback is in good hands with Regan and the rest of the Techs. They have a very professional team and are easy to deal with and We would highly recommend Jim Pattison Subaru to anyone. We have enjoyed driving our Outback very much this winter. More
