Bait and Switch I went and test drove a used car which had sat on the lot for several months. Really liked the car and I was all set to purchase the car for the stick I went and test drove a used car which had sat on the lot for several months. Really liked the car and I was all set to purchase the car for the sticker price. I wasn't there to low ball, I wanted it for sticker price. Employee I was dealing with was great but his manager wouldn't allow me to buy it for sticker price. I was told that vehicle was rare and the sticker price was a "winter sale" and that it is no longer available for that price, it was now nearly 2 grand more. I advised them the sticker is still on the window for 19 and they now want 21. I wouldn't do it. First off, it's illegal to bait and switch. And second, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see they were trying to score some easy cash and screw a female over with a stupid "it's rare" tactic. I'd never pay more than sticker price. That's foolish. More
