This dealership bold face lied to me! I am being ignored. Not returning my phone call or emails. This dealership sold me the 2015 Dodge Journey Oct 2nd, 2024 knowing full well that it had I am being ignored. Not returning my phone call or emails. This dealership sold me the 2015 Dodge Journey Oct 2nd, 2024 knowing full well that it had been heavily smoked in. There is no way possible that they didn't know! The cigarette smoke damage/smell is so heavy its embarrassing, your dealership should be embarrassed that you did not disclose this to me! This was not an oops, we forgot! I started this process of wanting the issue dealt with Oct 11th (it is now Nov 13th) after recognizing that once the air fresheners were all removed how badly the SUV truly smelled of cigarette smoke. The best they will come up with is an ozone treatment only. At the beginning they insisted i come back there, i refused, i want nothing more to do with them on site as it was a 4 1/2 hour process from start to finish. After the deal was done at approximately 2:00 pm it took 2 1/2 hours of excuses from license plate screw sticking to washing. This vehicle needs a full interior detail, new air filter then an ozone treatment. They are refusing the detail, a measly additional $250 that in no way should i have to incur. As soon as i opened the door to this SUV and remarked to Courtney the sales rep and noted how badly is smelled of cigarette smoke she replied Nooooooo! She allowed me to convince myself it was the red packet air fresheners that all the cars have on the lot. I said you need new air freshener things because these are terrible! Hahaha! Jokes on me! I was your dealerships sucker of the month i guess! More

Next my son had spoke with a sales advisor and he was pushing for him to come take a look . we both left work early and headed from campbell river to parksville. as we pulled up to the main entrance the truck was sitting out front running . at first glance it looked like it had not been washed in 10 years . i could already see rust starting on the fenders and lower portion of the box . before making our way to the dealer we were told the truck was from victoria and had spent "some time" in alberta . i had already seen numerous red flags but We went for a test drive my son really liked the truck and was being talked up by the salesman . i spoke my disappointment in the condition and had serious doubt's to the vehicles history and current status . Just the fact that they could not even take the time to wash what was the filthiest vehicle i have ever seen on a lot said so much about the direction this was headed . I stopped holding his hand and let him make his own deal . they came to a number he could live with and said it would go into the shop and then straight to detail . Next they asked him for a $3000 deposit on a $20,000 truck . I asked if it was refundable and the salesman said no not usually . As we asked for more clarity he went to his manager for answers . He returned and said they could do a 2000 deposit but non refundable . I told the salesman the only way we would do a deposit was if we were guaranteed a refund if the deal did not work . He returned and let us know that the refund would be fine and only because if the truck needed anything major in the inspection they could not honor the deal because they were selling the truck so cheap . We placed the deposit through there front desk with a lady from accounting. I let her know we were guaranteed a refund if the deal did not work out and we had a copy signed to protect ourselves . my son got a call the next day from sales informing him that the "out of province" inspection did not go great and the truck would need all new brakes and new upper and lower ball joints . So not only did this truck need work , it spent its entire life in alberta.Next he asked my son to pay for all the repairs and they would keep his deal in place . My son immediately declined and the deal was supposed to be refunded and cancelled as they hung up the phone . So the following day i reached out to sales asking for my refund . oh yes sir it will be taken care of right away . Laster that day i get a call from sales again trying to sell me a jeep i had looked at and combining the two vehicles so my son could geta better deal . xxx? really Not interested just want our refund . Oh yes sir i am on it . 3 days later no refund so i call accounting and demand a refund . done in 5 minutes , wow. Over a week later still dont have money back . i send accounting a message to let them know i will be coming at the end of the week to have my card physically refunded with there machine . Magically it shows up after a long weekend of being frustrated about it . We had previously tried to make a deal with an un-named chrysler dealer in campbell river and it did not go well either . Point of this long winded story is that they tried to take advantage of a nice young man looking to make a deal for himself and purchase a newer vehicle and maybe place some trust in someone and hope to be treated right . While waiting for our refund we decided it was not in our best interest to buy from another dealer after this interaction and we found a truck on marketplace. A 1 owner truck much newer loaded with every option . The seller had all maint records and a valid carfax from day 1 . She treated my son well and gave him an amazing deal on his new truck. Couldn't be more disappointed in oceanside gm in Parksville . More
I live in Nanaimo and drove to Harris Oceanside a couple of times to look at their trucks. I met Mike Hildebrand on my first visit and I found him to be very friendly and knowledgeable on the different styl of times to look at their trucks. Mike was always available to help me whether it be in person or on the phone, even on his day off. Mike helped me to find exactly what I was looking for, and I am very happy with my new truck. I have never traded in a vehicle before and was pleasantly surprised with their offer and ended up trading my vehice in. Overall it was a very positive experience, and I will be back to see Mike when I am ready to purchase another vehicle. ps - the coffee in the showroom is great! More

We flew in to Victoria at the local Airport, the shuttle was waiting. When my family got to Harris we Met Mike and Amanda Hildebrand and slowly met the rest of the team! They are more than a Car Dealership...was like a Vacation destination with the Tourist Package! They told us all the sites on the Island to see and Enjoy, Like Goats on the Roof! They did a pre Inspection of the Lil Canyon and gave it a great review when they were finished. All the paper work was taken care of and Yes it passed the out of province inspection here with out any Issue! Truthfully I was shocked...Nothing wrong! I cant say Enough about Mike Hildebrand and Lief Peek and his Team at Harris Oceanside GMC!! I would not hesitate to do another Out of Province purchase with these people again and will continue to browse their Inventory. March 16th 2024 we purchased a 2018 GMC Terrain from Harris Oceanside. Of course we were excited so we went for a drive with it just after leaving the dealership. We drove to Dashwood, as we arrived at Harris Oceanside. Of course we were excited so we went for a drive with it just after leaving the dealership. We drove to Dashwood, as we arrived at our destination we noticed an awful smell coming from the SUV along with smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Being that we just bought this car from what we thought was a reputable dealership we weren't to worried, we continued on our way. The next morning when we turned the car on the dash light up like Christmas as well as an alert telling us there was no oil pressure. We checked the oil and the car was bone dry, where did the oil go we wondered?..as there was none on the ground. We went to the store and immediately put oil in it. It seemed to run better so we continued on with our day. Shortly after we started driving the check engine light came on again, at this point we called and booked an appointment to have our car looked at. We brought our car in on April 4th 2024, we were told that day that the engine of our car was blown and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately since we only had the car for 2 weeks the warranty won't cover the engine, warranties only start 30 days after purchase. We were told to speak with the sales manager. After talking with the sales manager (Leif Peek), we were told they would hold the car there until our warranty starts on April 16th 2024 and they will then put a warranty claim for our engine and fix our car. Once our warranty starts we would also be able to take advantage of our rental car coverage also. In the mean time Leif had given us a loaner car for 2 weeks that he had put demonstration plates on to help us out. Little did we know this is illegal, demonstration plates are only valid for 3 days. We ended up getting pulled over on April 13th 2024 and the loaner vehicle and license plate were impounded, luckily we weren't fined for driving with an illegal plate and no insurance. After speaking with Leif about this he ensured us he would fix everything and get us another loaner on Monday April15th 2024. Monday comes around and Leif has changed his plan of action and now he insists on selling us a second car for $800 a month instead of fixing our car that we love and only pay $500 a month for. After Leif was trying to convince us for 2 days that this is a great idea we finally made it very clear we are done talking about this and just want our car fixed or our money back. Now Leif tells us the car will be fixed under warranty and to talk to the service department, which I did and the work order for our car is not active and no parts have been ordered. We had to rent a car, we tried to us our warranty and it was denied. We now have a $27,000 loan, a car with a blown engine, a rental carl we are paying $110 a day for with absolutely no answers from Harris. DO NOT BUY A CAR AT THIS DEALERSHIP More

I just want to express our huge disappointment about dealing with Harris Oceanside GMC in Parksville. We had a written agreement about a 2024 GMC Canyon AT$ including a trade in Of our Mercedes Benz. Since they could not get the 2023 we later even agreed on paying $ 850 more for the 2024 model. Several times we were assured that the deal stands even though it took longer to get the new vehicle. Finally after waiting 8 month we were told to come and take delivery of the new truck. After almost two hours of talking , showing and test driving the truck we were told that they would not hold on to the agreement and we would have to pay around $6000 more than we had agreed on. This is a very dishonest business attitude to say the least. Since it was gone 3 days later I cane only assume they already had a customer who did not want to wait and paid more, maybe with financing instead of paying cash so they could make more money. For us it was the worst experience we ever made doing business. I am just sorry, that I have to click one star here so I can post this More
