Terrible service from Josh, poor communication, and price gouging! Dropped vehicle off for an appointment and didn't hear from him until I called in 3 days later to see what was going on. Lots of excuses of what stage the technician was in, thought the car was in the "air" and not sure if the technician had it all checked out or not. I'd rather have the truth that they were busy or haven't looked at it yet then the lame excuses I got. Finally received a call regarding the estimate later that day, got the standard higher dealer matrix pricing on parts and labor, (for those of you who are unaware how dealers operate-matrix pricing is where they charge over and above manufacture suggested retail pricing (MSRP) and the dealer also raises the per hour labor rate charge on a sliding scale (theirs starts at $179.95) depending on the amount of labor hours the job takes-if pricing is not high enough already) I asked for a professional curtesy of them not to use matrix pricing since I have been (was) a loyal customer to Germain (Ruhl) for the past 28 years and have been in the automotive industry myself for 30 years and well versed with these extra charges and how dealers work to "squeeze" out extra revenue. Josh declined, so I asked to speak to the service manager. John was not helpful and declined as well. I called the parts department directly and asked if they would sell the parts at MSRP (not a discount mind you) and he (very helpful nice guy-can't remember his name) told me absolutely and that the service manager John had the ability to change it, but he obviously chose not to. When I went to pick up my car, I stopped in the sales area to see if I could speak to the speak to the GM, Chad. He was welcoming, gracious with his time, and listened to my experience. Said he was sorry, and I could always call him in the future If I had any issues...my mind was already made up before speaking to him that this was the last straw with them. I was surprised he didn't ask me during our discussion if there was anything he could do to make this right (one would think that's a pretty typical question for good customer relations), regardless had he, I wanted nothing and there was nothing else he could have said or done to retain my business. This has been the typical service and responses I have gotten from this service department over the last 5 years. I love my Ford vehicles and have bought many cars here and used the service department out of convenience as they are only 5 minutes from me. I'm seriously thinking about not buying Ford products every again. In the meantime, I took my other Ford vehicle out to Chapman Ford in Marysville this past week and the experience has been excellent. Germain service department jumped over the dollar to get an extra dime from me for the last time. NEVER WILL RETURN to buy or service at Germain Ford and recommend the extra drive from Dublin out to Chapman Ford. Only good thing from this visit with Germain Ford was with the parts department...shout out to them for doing the right thing! More
