Well, I had a rather unpleasant experience with Georgian Chev #georgianchev #gm in Barrie over the past year. So if you are thinking of a purchase or you use them for service, beware! I brought my truck in for a transmission issue and they said they took it for a test drive and didn't notice anything. Then the warranty expired. But I continued to have issues. I got a second opinion from Barrie Transmission #barrietransmission and Lorenzo properly diagnosed the problem at no charge. It's great to see that the honest mechanic like him and Kevin at Master Mechanic #mastermechanic are still doing a great service. Back at Georgian they finally agreed that there was a problem and scheduled a repair. As you would likely guess, they would not honor the warranty and it was repaired at full price. They say they discounted the parts but started at an over inflated price and still came out to be more than what GMParts #GMParts actually cost. So if your taking your vehicle into this dealership under warranty, remember this issue and understand that they get paid if they do warranty work from GM and get paid if not under warranty by you. So they are not looking out for your best interest and are not on your side. My official boycott of Georgian Chev has started and they won't see a dime from me again. I know I am just a blip on their radar but if others share this concern, maybe they will start to care. More
They manipulate and twist every word you say to make a sale, Was buying my first car on my own and I gotta say never going back there again. I said multiple times that I was not ready to sign any paper work and I need time to think but “nope just sign this paper it’s not the final document anyways. Oh put this deposit down so we can hold the car for you.” They then kept my ownership from the car I was going to trade in and when I called to ask if I could please have it back and that I really didn’t want the car they made me seem to be a liar and that I knew what I was signing. I absolutely did not and if I did I wouldn’t have signed. They’ll do anything to manipulate you into a sale. More
Disappointing Experience with Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC – Issues with Vehicle Condition and Lack of Accountability I purchased a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe from Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC, and whi GMC – Issues with Vehicle Condition and Lack of Accountability I purchased a used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe from Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC, and while the sales process itself was straightforward and without issue, my experience with the dealership’s post-purchase service has been less than satisfactory. 42 days after taking delivery of the vehicle, I brought it to a Hyundai dealership for a routine oil change, wheel alignment, and to ensure the vehicle was properly registered in their system. During the inspection, the technician discovered that the front left brake rotor was pitted and required resurfacing. According to Hyundai, the pitting likely developed over the past 2-3 months and would have been present when the vehicle was delivered. While I did notice some irregular wear on the rotor prior to purchasing the vehicle, I assumed it was normal and didn’t raise any concerns at the time. However, I now believe this issue should have been identified during the dealership's certification process, especially considering the vehicle was marketed as a certified pre-owned model. The resurfacing of the rotor cost me $318.09, and I feel this expense should have been covered by Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC, given that the problem was present at the time of sale. I reached out to the dealership to discuss the issue, but was told there was nothing they could do. They also mentioned a ‘UCD SAFETY INSPECT’ from 08/16/24 in the vehicle’s service history, but the pitting clearly wasn't detected during that inspection. This lack of attention to detail is especially disappointing, given that I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15 years. In fact, I spent over $13,000 on repairs to a 2018 Silverado just last year, not to mention additional costs on other vehicles in my household. It's worth noting that Georgian Chevrolet Buick GMC is part of the larger Alberta-based Canada One Auto Group, which operates dealerships across multiple provinces in Canada. Given my long history with the dealership, I expected better customer service and accountability, particularly for a significant issue like this. To potential buyers: please be aware that while the sales experience might be fine, you should carefully scrutinize any used vehicle you purchase and manage your expectations regarding the dealership’s post-sale support. What a headache and stressful terrible dealership never buy anything here ever.I walked out of my new vehicle purchase at there dealership mid purchase and drove my original vehicle home that's how crap the service and word of this place and people is.I wouldn't purchase a lawnmower from them never mind a family vehicle. This isn't the first time I have had xxxx experiences with Chevrolet either the Chevrolet dealership in Parry sound allowed my new tires and rims to be stolen out of the bed of my truck on there own property. Seriously thinking about switching vehicle brands because of all the bullhit that comes with owning a Chevrolet there dealerships and services suck . More
