We purchased our 4 th. 'brand new' Ford Edge; top of the line Titanium 'Elite' in Jan of 2024. Very disappointed in this latest vehicle for many reasons. The other Edges w 'brand new' Ford Edge; top of the line Titanium 'Elite' in Jan of 2024. Very disappointed in this latest vehicle for many reasons. The other Edges were wonderful; trouble free vehicles;...not this one! After 2 weeks the rear hatch wouldn't open. the battery had to be replaced. the rear 'cross flow sensors; and the back up camera sensors have a mind of their own. We have had the car to the Ford dealer in St Catharines as we live there, 6 or 7 times this past spring and early summer. In regard to the sensors, no fault could be found. We have experimented on various parking lots and up againsy our own garage door. At 15 inches away from the door the sensors will alarm the driver; much too close. Our friends Cadillac SUV works at 4 feet and a friends Ford Fusion worked at 5 feet away. Notifying Eastgate Ford in regard to this important safety issue was a waste of time. The sales team and this Ford dealer basicly have, 'blown us off' each and every time ! A phone call to Ford 'Customer Relations' was also disappointing. They apologized for our problem but no attempt to resolve the problem was offered. Almost 11 months later things are still the same but I'm writing this post because we almost ran over a lady walking her dog last evening and coming close to backing out onto the side street as a car was approaching the previous evening. Of course, no sensors warned us . You should know that we are over cautious every time we back up because we can't rely on 'Ford Sensors'. Interesting also is that the top of the line Edge has no under hood insulation as they always did prior. Saving production costs will catch up to you ! The low volume sounding horn is a farce; something that one might have heard on a 1980 Toyota. The door entrance 'sill plate', reading 'Edge" doesn't light up as all 3 previous Ford Edges offered. The 2 L 'Turbocharged 4 Cyl. engine has plenty of torque and unfortunately, plenty of engine noise; in fact, way too much for a car of this price range. After purchasing the under hood insulation the engine noise from the engine bay is still very noisy. Two Ford dealerships tell us that all the new Fords have problems with the rear sensors not working properly; even their employees say the same. You would think that Ford can do better; I've proudly owned approx 30 Fords, Mercurys and T BIrds that were such a pleasure to drive;...'not this one' ! Be careful where you shop; some dealers care about their customers; this one doesn't ! 'So disappointed'. PS: Ed Learn Ford of St catharines have done their best but are also aware of problems with these later model Ford products. More
Sales department great, but the service department not so much. I had a frozen latch repaired last winter under a GSP issued from Ford Canada. This year my latch froze up again, this was supposed to be so much. I had a frozen latch repaired last winter under a GSP issued from Ford Canada. This year my latch froze up again, this was supposed to be solved under the recall but I had to pay for something that wasn't fixed the first time. To add insult my work order stated that my door latches could continue to freeze. More
Horrible experience with Michael Tully went there with my new F-150 lightning with frunk malfunction, the attitude I got from the start was horrible , first off all the didn’t knew there is emergency tab to new F-150 lightning with frunk malfunction, the attitude I got from the start was horrible , first off all the didn’t knew there is emergency tab to pull to open it when you can’t do it with cabin button , keyfob or hood button and I had to show them how to do it, than they started to open my fuse boxes on parking lot and after 2,5 patiently waiting I was told they did nothing and I should call the dealership I bought the truck, I am driving ford trucks for 20 years and never been treated like this More
If you want to buy I car I would not suggest Eastgate Ford. I attended Eastgate 2x (and had an additional phone call and texts) with sales person Brian Echlin. At my final visit to the dealership I n Ford. I attended Eastgate 2x (and had an additional phone call and texts) with sales person Brian Echlin. At my final visit to the dealership I noticed damage to the vehicle (dent+paint, and paint down to the sheet metal), upon pointing it out he acted encumbered and noted that since the dealership would have to repair it the sticker price would have to apply. (And pretended he was just seeing the very obvious damaged - significant dent to front pillar). Additionally the vehicle was advertised with features it did not have (advertised remote start, but did not have remote start when I asked about it during my second visit). When discussing ordering the same new vehicle (Bronco) he agreed a new one could be purchased for a similar amount, but then made no efforts to discuss ordering one. The most bizarre experience - I went to buy a vehicle, and left without buying the damaged one on the lot, and without ordering a new one. It was as if they wanted to sell me nothing - seemed very disinterested in making any kind of a sale. Also included a detailed story about other sales persons ordering/buying Broncos and selling them across the border at a profit. I would not recommend Eastgate ford - they do not seem interested in selling either their used or their new vehicles. And might have wanted to squeek a sale buy without acknowledging damage on their used vehicles (priced about what they were sold new for). I left a bought a Jeep (after driving a Ford for 15years). if you want a dealer to stand behind what they sell better look elsewhere, Eastgate is unhelpful and uninterested after they make the sale. From releasing new vehicles with safety device defects to rus better look elsewhere, Eastgate is unhelpful and uninterested after they make the sale. From releasing new vehicles with safety device defects to rust they will totally ignore any responsibility. Safe to say if they were the last Ford dealer i'd buy a Dodge. More
