Thank you for contacting us regarding your concerns. Our salespeople are trained to help clients find the vehicle best-suited to their needs, and to leave the matter of a client’s financial standing in the hands of our Finance Managers. Our Finance team has had many years of experience working with clients with a variety of financial backgrounds, and will always do whatever they can to exhaust all potential options to get a client approved, and in order to determine what options they have, they must pull the customer’s credit, and this is only done with the express permission of that person, which will be noted in your customer file here. Unfortunately, as you are using an alias, I am not able to determine which customer file is yours. Having your credit pulled once will not ‘wreck’ an otherwise good credit score. The only reason a client would not be able to be approved is if the lending institution determines that there would be more risk to them (the lending institution) if they provide the loan requested than they are willing to take on. Examples of this behavior can include having existing loans in amounts that have already exceeded a reasonable rate of payment relative to your income, having an excess of hard credit pulls performed in a short period of time (which can occur if you have your credit pulled at more than one business without following through with a purchase), or consistent non-payment of existing bills. I cannot speak to whether or not any of these scenarios apply to you, but would be more than happy to look into this situation further if you contact me directly and let us know who you are. You can reach me at the dealership at 780-439-0071. Dave Mussell, General Manager

Hello Dave, Thank you for bringing your concern regarding our dealership to my attention. I have reviewed the bill of sale, as well as all written communication, text messages, and notes detailing phone calls between you and our sales team. At this time, I would like to clarify a few points, as there appears to be some confusion regarding the manner with which this situation progressed. You are not only an out-of-town buyer, but also an international customer looking to purchase a vehicle in Canada and bring it back to the United States. It appears that you inquired about vehicle exporting with our sales team, which was clearly explained to you is not an aspect of automotive sales that our dealership participates in. You are welcome to personally purchase the vehicle in Canadian funds, and just as a buyer from another province in Canada would be responsible for the difference in taxes, required inspections and any work that needed to be performed to the vehicle (as well as the costs associated) to ensure that it complies with their provincial laws, you would be responsible for same in order for this vehicle to be brought back across the border to the United States. The terms of the deal at the time the deposit was taken included the expectation was that you would be coming to Edmonton to take delivery of the vehicle within a reasonable amount of time, and would be taking care of the necessary provisions to ensure that you would be able to take delivery of the vehicle and bring it back out of the country. In the days after the deposit was placed, you expressed a number of concerns as to why different forms or paperwork were needed to bring the vehicle back to the United States (required documents still left to complete, GST refund paperwork, letter of compliance). On Saturday, you sent a text message to our salesperson indicating that you were ”not booking a plane ticket at this point. Not enough certainty here.” The message went on to detail the cost of the plane tickets had increased, the time required for the trip was not to your liking, and your frustration with the process and our team. You finally stated that your “next ideal timeframe of availability to travel is another month out.” Based on the statements that were made by you on Saturday, it would be a reasonable conclusion that despite the effort put in on both sides, our team would have reason to believe you may not purchase the vehicle within a reasonable amount of time, as there had already been requests made that indicated you did not wish to move forward with the terms of the deal as agreed upon. Rather than continuing to wait and spending more time and resources after the definitive “not booking a plane ticket at this point” statement, we made the decision to return your deposit and carry on with business. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me directly at (780)439-0071. Dave Mussell, General Manager
