Other garages had refused to give me a quote and even though the one I got from Richard was the worst case scenario as I had requested, he kept me in the loop every step of the way so I could make informed decisions. As it turned out, my car was unfit for the road and work done at a previous mechanic had severely damaged the car. Richard corrected the problem and gave me a fair price that I was more than happy to pay. Great customer service from richard and the mechanic, who's name I didn't catch, did an amazing job. He also offered me the convenience of alternate transportation (which I really, really appreciated, since I live halfway across the city) and promised to let me know when my car was ready for pick-up. I was on a manhunt looking for the 2012 Passat Highline TDI with Sport and Nav. I was told by another VW dealership that this model was sold out all across Ontario. They attempted to sell me the same model TDI with Sport and Nav. I was told by another VW dealership that this model was sold out all across Ontario. They attempted to sell me the same model but a gas version. I was not happy because this was not what I wanted. I ended up calling around to different VW dealerships in or around the Toronto area – that is how I found Don Valley VW. I told Bernard Cannon my story and he was determined to find me my dream car. I thought for sure it might be impossible, but Bernard made it happen!! He found the car for me in Thunderbay and made all of the arrangements to ensure that it arrived in a timely fashion. Not only did he go above and beyond the expectation of a sale associate, he is actually really cool and down to earth! He kept me updated to the entire time as to when the truck left to Thunderbay and when the estimated time of arrival was. I also the day I picked up the car, I had the pleasure of meeting another awesome sales associate, Daniel Tumpane. He was very informative and helped me through the paperwork. Never having bought a new car before, my wife and I went in to Don Valley VW expecting the process to be a necessary step towards getting a car but not one we were looking forward to. So we were surprised to find a relaxed, friendly salesmen in Bernard who was interested in getting to know who we were and why we wanted a car. This approach really helped as we ended up in a different model than the one we had gone in to look which has proved to be the much better fit. The entire experience, from greeting to "here are the keys" was enjoyable and easy in the way that only people who are good at what they do can make it, with everything getting done but without it seeming like a task. Bernard quickly produced a competitive price which I checked online using a pay service and proved to be the best available by a healthy margin. There was no pressure as we took a few days to consider our options, and when we were ready the process moved quickly and efficiently, getting our car to us much faster than we had expected. While we don't live especially close to the Don Valley location we chose to go there because of the reputation of their service department. We haven't experienced that yet, but are already glad we bought through them. If you're looking for a thorough but enjoyable car purchase, that doesn't waste your time but leaves you feeling like you did your due diligence and made the right decision, go to Don Valley VW and ask for Bernard, I'm glad we did.
