A few days ago, I had a very disappointing car-buying experience at Docksteader Subaru. We completed a test drive at the dealership and confirmed that we wanted to purchase the vehicle. We then agree experience at Docksteader Subaru. We completed a test drive at the dealership and confirmed that we wanted to purchase the vehicle. We then agreed on the price with the sales manager, and both we and the sales representative signed the offer. The entire process went smoothly. However, just as we were about to pay the deposit at the cashier, the sales manager suddenly stopped the transaction and said that “an outside buyer had transferred a deposit through another salesperson two minutes earlier to purchase the vehicle.” What was even more difficult to understand was that the sales manager stated they were not aware of this beforehand. As a result, they said they now had to sell the vehicle to the customer who paid the deposit first, and could no longer sell it to us. What was unacceptable is that at no point during the process was it clearly explained that “the first person to pay the deposit has priority.” There was also no reasonable protection or priority given to customers who were already physically at the dealership, had completed negotiations, and had signed the offer. We spent a significant amount of time communicating, test driving, negotiating the price, and making our decision. We had even discussed a pickup date with the salesperson. The atmosphere throughout was positive, and the salesperson clearly believed the deal had been completed. Yet at the very last step, we were told the vehicle had been sold to someone else. It was a very poor experience and felt disrespectful to customers who were seriously purchasing a vehicle in person. After this, we visited two other Subaru dealerships and purchased a vehicle there. When we asked about “purchase priority,” both dealerships gave the same answer: in-store customers are given priority. So I would like to ask: Does Docksteader Subaru not have a “priority for in-person customers” policy? When multiple buyers are interested in the same vehicle, is it really necessary to rush to the cashier and pay first in order to secure the purchase? This is very difficult to understand. In the end, we purchased the same vehicle we had originally looked at from another dealership, and everything was handled properly and transparently. For anyone planning to buy a vehicle here, I strongly recommend confirming the following before spending hours test driving and negotiating: • Whether in-store customers have purchase priority • Whether a vehicle can still be sold to others after an offer is signed • How priority is determined when multiple buyers are present in the dealership • Whether remote buyers are allowed to secure the vehicle during the in-store buying process Otherwise, you may end up like we did—spending several hours only to have your time completely wasted. The picture showed a second set of tires, which they purposely hid during the sales negotiations. A week later (when the card didn't sell) the tires were "found" - what a coincidence! The manager also denied everything that was raised during our independent inspection. Absolutely no integrity and very poor negotiation. More
Docksteader said there were no issues with a car they were selling to me after their inspection. I took the car to Honda they said there were some issues. Docksteader manager refused to investigate furth were selling to me after their inspection. I took the car to Honda they said there were some issues. Docksteader manager refused to investigate further and insisted there were no issues. I took the car to another mechanic who confirmed there were issues with the car and then informed Docksteader I would not purchase the vehicle. Always get independent inspections when purchasing vehicles from this dealership !!! More

A few days ago, my wife and I set out to find our dream car — a brand-new white SUV. We had our eyes on the Subaru Forester for years, but it was only recently that two of my wife’s co-workers bought new S car — a brand-new white SUV. We had our eyes on the Subaru Forester for years, but it was only recently that two of my wife’s co-workers bought new Subarus and couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved them. Hearing their excitement gave us the final push to make our move. We searched for the closest dealership and found Docksteader Subaru in Vancouver. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in the right place. The showroom was bright and inviting, and to our surprise, it was kid-friendly too — coloring books and hot chocolate for the little ones, plus coffee for us while we waited. It felt like they had thought of everyone. That’s when we met Kyle. He greeted us with a warm smile and immediately made us feel at ease. He took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted, walked us through every feature of the Forester, highlighted its safety and technology, and then handed us the keys for a test drive. But what really stood out was that it wasn’t just Kyle making things happen. Dusty, Janine, and Jastine also stepped in, listening to our concerns, answering our questions, and working together to make sure the deal went through without a hitch. It felt less like a sales process and more like a team of friends helping us reach a goal. By the end of the day, we were driving home in our beautiful 2025 Subaru Forester, smiling the entire way. The whole experience was smooth, stress-free, and genuinely enjoyable. If you’re looking for a dealership where you’re treated with respect, where your kids feel welcome, and where the staff truly care about getting you into the right vehicle, Docksteader Subaru is the place. Thanks to Kyle, Dusty, Janine, and Jastine, our dream car became a reality. More
We had a fantastic experience working with Tiffany at Docksteader Subaru. She was very knowledgeable about all the vehicles and took time to clearly explain the differences between the models, which help Docksteader Subaru. She was very knowledgeable about all the vehicles and took time to clearly explain the differences between the models, which help us narrow down our search. Even though they didn’t have the exact vehicle we were looking for in stock, Tiffany’s, professionalism, patience, and willingness to answer all of our questions made a lasting impression. We would recommend Tiffany to anyone looking for a knowledgeable sales person to help guide their purchase. More
Maxine and the service dept were amazing! ! Their knowledge helped to quickly identify a sound which turned out to be an issue covered under warranty. I had brought my Crosstrek to another Sub ! Their knowledge helped to quickly identify a sound which turned out to be an issue covered under warranty. I had brought my Crosstrek to another Subaru dealer previously and they couldn't figure it out. Maxine's great professionalism and communication kept me in loop and updated throughout the process. Best experience at a dealership ever!! Thanks again! More
We randomly chose Docksteader Subaru when our 2013 Suburban started acting up. We by chance were directed to Charlie Chae as a salesperson. This was another stroke of luck. We liked the way he spo Suburban started acting up. We by chance were directed to Charlie Chae as a salesperson. This was another stroke of luck. We liked the way he spoke to us over the phone and so we went directly over to meet with him. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Charlie is personable and up front about what our options were. We ended up trading in our Suburban for a 2023 Subaru Outback. We never felt pressure (which we have experienced in the past from car dealers). The finance department was thorough and very helpful. Everything seemed to fall into place thanks to Charlie and the other co-workers there. We are from Alberta. We would drive here again to do the next car purchase. Charlie was great. Thank you Docksteader Subaru!! More
