We are sorry to hear that your experience was not a positive one. Looking into the situation it sounds like you were offered a vehicle to be factory ordered at invoice price plus $500 to cover the 10 oil changes and hitch installation. Your counter offer was below our cost on the vehicle and would be a loss for us. Mr. Wood responded by asking you what you think would be a fair profit for us to make on a vehicle, while this was not meant to be rude or condescending we can understand how it could have come across that way. Rather than intending to be condescending, Mr. Wood's intention was to be up front and honest about our pricing and cost of the vehicle and he apologizes if he came across as anything other than up front and honest. As a sales manager, Mr. Wood is accountable to our owners for the vehicles he sells and wouldn't have a job if he was selling them below cost. We would like the opportunity to correct this situation for you if you are willing. Let us know if there is anything we can do. Within a negative experience is always an opportunity for us to show you that we are looking to constantly improve and ensure that our customers are treated with a high level of service and professionalism.

It wasn't so much the price - we weren't that far apart on the deal actually, and I understand his role is to make as much money from the deal as possible - that's only logical. What really upset me was his very negative and cendescending attitude just before I left. What he really said was: "Why are you being so difficult?" when I refused to pay the $589 "Doc fee" which is nothing but 100% pure dealer profit. The "doc fee" was added into the deal AFTER we had negotiated a final price which I WAS willing to pay. We had agreed on a price, and it was only when I asked for the payment amount, then punched (what I thought was) the final purchase price into my smartphone app and it gave me different (lower) payment amount than Mr. Wood gave me taht I noted a difference. I then asked Mr. Wood to explain how he got his numbers for the payment amount. Then the "doc fee" was introduced. What Mr. Wood desparately needs to be aware of is that he WAS talking to someone about to part with almost $40,000 of their hard earned money, and that person is the customer. Treating them in a condescending manner - even if he doesn't agree with their viewpoint is very poor form, and buying a car need not be so adverserial. Had he taken a different approach, he would have sealed the deal instead of destroying it and any future dealings. I plan to buy myself a new truck in the next few years as well to replace my 07 Ram 3500 Megacab. The biggest Shame in all of this is that I had considered Garth Shain a friend of mine. After I walked out, no one from Crestview contacted me, instead, *I* had to phone Garth a week later to explain what happened from my perspective. I have even previously suggested people go see Garth to buy a vehicle - Brian Wilkinson for example - he bought a 2013 RAM 3500 based partly on my recommendation. The whole thing left me very dissappointed in Crestview.
