How are these crooks still in business? I brought my 2005 Saturn Ion in for a fuel drip need my rear passenger side wheel and my driver side door lock seized up. First the guy started by say I brought my 2005 Saturn Ion in for a fuel drip need my rear passenger side wheel and my driver side door lock seized up. First the guy started by saying with the age of the vehicle it's time to start thinking of buying a new car, I said no thanks I like being car payment free. They had to diagnose the leak and hooked it up to the computer and I was told they can't get fuel line parts for my car anymore and they have to make the parts. I was told the total cost would be $1200. He said with age of the car I can expect this to be the start of paying hundreds of dollars on a regular basis. Then I asked what was wrong with the door lock they said they fixed it. When I asked how? they became annoyed because I said I hope they did more than WD40 which iv done myself. He froze then said they sprayed inside with a silicone to free up the lock. They said it would cost $400 to replace the lock. I told them I would think over the lock and fuel line since it will be parked mostly over the holidays, I then paid them $150 for spraying my door lock and telling me the cost to replace my fuel lines. One week later I took it to my regular mechanic who was closed for a week and they replaced all fuel lines and the fuel filter for $425 total! big difference from $1200 and they also found the parts easily, I had my car back that day within 6 hours. Three weeks after that my driver side door lock seized up again and my check engine light came on. I will never be going back to Cowan as it seems like a crooked, sleazy business. I feel they have bad ethics and rip off their customers. I would recommend to anyone to take their vehicle anywhere other than Cowan! More
Poor customer service Bought a new truck within 5000km radio malfunctioned called to make an appointment and was told the service manager would call back to confirm appoint Bought a new truck within 5000km radio malfunctioned called to make an appointment and was told the service manager would call back to confirm appointment never called back.called next day got an appointment to look at it said yup it need an update 20minutes out the lot it did it again took it back 2 more times and on the 2nd time they fixed the radio but damaged the dash gouging it around the faceplate had to return a 4th time and never went back never will and that was the short version.terrible customer service More
Misdiagnosised car My car was diagnosed at Cowan and when I returned to talked to them about it I didn't get so much as an apology but they completely brushed me off. worst service ever I made an appointment the previous week for my truck to be serviced at 8am Wednesday, Feb. 11 . When I dropped the truck off the service rep told me t I made an appointment the previous week for my truck to be serviced at 8am Wednesday, Feb. 11 . When I dropped the truck off the service rep told me that the truck would be ready to go by 12 noon so there would be no need of a loaner car.. I called Cowans at 11:30 to see if the truck was ready yet. The service rep told me it hadn't been looked at yet but it was next in line. I told her to forget it as I needed to leave for work shortly and to send their driver to pick me up When I got to Cowans I asked the rep why the truck hadn't been looked at yet, he replied "must to be to _______ busy" I asked what is the point in making an appointment if you are going to be hours and hours behind the scheduled time This type of service is totally unacceptable. I have e-mailed the manger of Cowans as well as the service manager and as of yet I do not have any response. - More
