After waiting over a month for a part, they failed to fix the problem and now, due to a lack of staff, I have to wait two more weeks for them to attempt to diagnose the problem again. They don't seem to see it as a safety hazard despite the fact that someone could get a hand caught in the window when it goes the wrong direction. Also very disappointed by the cheap electronics after only 3 years because, while waiting for the window control part, a new problem developed. The passenger seat belt warning dings continuously whether someone sits in the seat or not. Underwhelmed. More
I have never written a review before, but my last experience with Courtenay Kia's -Service- Dept. has prompted me too. I have had a few bad experiences with them and their so called service manager but the last service they performed on our car included a 4 wheel brake service which was NOT performed. It was on our invoice however and the tech had recorded it as complete. I have been a Red Seal mechanic for over 40 years and have performed 100s of brake jobs. Four days after the so called brake service I replaced the rear brake pads and it was obvious they had NOT been apart - dirty, rusty and dry. I did return to this dealer as requested to show them the condition of the calipers and after several attempts no one would even come out and look at the calipers which are easily viewed through the wheel spokes. I was told I would have to wait because it has to go on the hoist. Taylor the service advisor was great, she tried 3 times to get someone to have a look but the service manager refused. It was lunchtime - get in line for the hoist. They knew I was dropping in on my way to a Campbell River appointment. Then the power went out - no hoist - and still no one would come out and look. Taylor did but said She didn't know what she's looking at - thank you Taylor. As I was leaving one of the techs came out and backed a car out to take it to the service bays - WOW!! Not impressed. On top of this as before my phone calls were NOT returned - All I wanted was to receive a credit for the brake service which I think is very reasonable but... SO# 109751 Job 4. We were looking for Winter Tires as we drive to Calgary through the winter and are moving back shortly. I called KIA in Courtenay and they gave me a price on a certain brand of tire for our KIA Sorento. T through the winter and are moving back shortly. I called KIA in Courtenay and they gave me a price on a certain brand of tire for our KIA Sorento. The fellow I spoke to told me they would not be beaten on price. Doing my due diligence, I called several other places, Costco, Kal Tire and OK tire and got the best price I could for the same product, again all-in. I went back to KIA and they slightly beat the price of the lowest offered price of all other contenders including fitting, balancing, tire tax, absolutely everything. So we are very pleased. We asked for an all-in price so there were no surprises and they came through. We have always had good service from KIA. I believe it was Wayne I spoke to. He was very accommodating. More

When I phoned to make an appointment, I was able to get in the very next morning. I knew my car was in excellent hands and Derek reassured me his department would take care of my car for me. He certainly came through and upheld his promise to me...I had my car back later that day and it was right back to being brand new all over again! I love coming to KIA..no problem is too small for them to ignore and no problem is too big for them not to handle.. Thank you SO much for the great team and reassurance that I can come to them at any time and they will take care of me.. More
Friendly and Competent Experience. Sales and finance personnel were very helpful and friendly...kept us informed and updated throughout the initial contact and purchasing process. Happened to purchase from a distance and timing was difficult due to ferry cancellations and weather...They offered - if needed - to pick us up at the ferry terminal which is close to 180 kms round trip. Friends and Fixers I use the Service Department at Courtenay Kia for all my cars. They are friendly, helpful, and get the job done. They also do the extra things needed. I highly recommend them not just for servicing Kias, but for any cars. They even did a great cleaning job on a car I was going to sell - above and beyond. More
