The service department does not deserve one star. There is nothing like spending hundreds of thousands on GM products to get xxxx on with warranty issues. On a 2022 GMC with just under 60,000 km on it on Sunday, May 14, 2023, we stopped traveling 130km home from a work site. On Monday, May 15, we called the service department and discussed getting it into the shop to look at a pulsating brake at 110 km per hour. They suggested we do the 60,000 warenty inspection, costing us $200. Remember this was on Monday. In our conversation, they were fully aware of the km that were on the truck. We did consider the work order started. The appointment was booked for Thursday, May 18th. My wife and i only have 2 vehicles for work purposes. From Monday to Thursday, we put 300km on the truck. 60300. No one said bring the truck in to register the odometer. No one said don't drive the truck. Long story short version.. On Thursday, we took the truck in for the appointment. Both my wife and I were told by the service tech that there would be no warranty concerns. They did not repair pulsating brake. They found leaking transmission lines and decided not to cover either item. The recalls were not even addressed. Most of the services have been done by GM unless I have to work until 7pm for weeks on end. I get the service done at a quick lube that is open until 9pm. The reason she gave us for denying us warranty and still charging us $200 was. if we had serviced the truck at their gm, they would of caught it. So I simply asked her to tell us when the leak started? A few weeks ago or 2 months ago? She could not say. (She did not know), yet she insisted that a previous service would of caught it, even if the leak never started by then. Then another guy walks up and says, "You shouldn't have driven it". We were absolutely blown away by the lack of knowledge and ignorance. We were not aware that GM voids warranty if you don't service at a gm service center. One thing that screams crooks or scam is that they could charge us for parts and then put them through under warranty. I have purchased a lot of new GM products in the past 20 years and have never had such terrible service getting warranty work done. More
This dealership was straight up and fair. Purchased new Equinox and had the deal done and delivered with no issues or delays (from inventory). Had been dealing with dealerships in Edmonton but found them to be impersonal and a bit slippery. Small town dealership with employees that live in my community. With about 20 new car purchases over the past 40 years, this has been probably one of the better car buying experiences my wife and I have had. More
I have purchased 6 new vehicles over 30 years. I have always had wonderful customer service from The sales people I have worked with. Their service department is incredible and they’re always willing to always had wonderful customer service from The sales people I have worked with. For the past 12 months I have had one of my vehicles serviced at Competition Chevrolet in Stony Plain; I will not be returning. Here are a few of the reasons I will not be returning: 1) When performing tire maintenance, mismatched tires were installed on the rear-end. 2) Upon returning to their shop to discuss the issue, I requested that the rear-end fluid be changed; this was not done. Subsequently the vehicle was again returned and it was noted that the rear-end fluid was low, so it was topped up, but still not changed. 3) After changing engine oil, oil fill-cap not reinstalled; this resulted in oil throughout the engine compartment. 4) Rear seal replaced a number of times before diagnosing rear yoke issue. (I am sure they would have continued to change the seal if I had not called and asked a few questions!) 5) When changing engine oil, maintenance personnel tracked oil and grime into the vehicle. 6) They continually fail to correctly fill out window sticker date and mileage when next oil change due. Although all of these issues have been resolved, it required numerous telephone calls (some to General Motors of Canada) and regularly returning the vehicle before they could get it right. More
