Felt like they had me over a barrel... bad experience April 28, 2016: 09:30am my wife had a scheduled appointment with City Ford and dropped off our 2006 Ford Expedition for service. The check engine ligh April 28, 2016: 09:30am my wife had a scheduled appointment with City Ford and dropped off our 2006 Ford Expedition for service. The check engine light was on and an Error Code read that cylinder 4 was misfiring (I used my own code reader to determine this and printed it out). My wife brought the print out of the error code reading and the person my wife was dealing with refused to take it and said that they had to do their own diagnostic. They also refused to listen to her (she was fully competent at explaining the issue) as she tried to explain the issue and what she wanted done, so my wife got fed up and told them to just call me (at work). 10:50am - I received a call from City Ford - the person I dealt with was the same one that my wife had left the vehicle with. They said they had to do their own diagnostic because the shop foreman and mechanic said so. Note that because they had refused to take the printout that my wife had given (they said they wouldn't keep it and gave it back to my wife), I can understand why a professional mechanic might question the exact code error because at that point it's probably just word of mouth... if it was even relayed to them... The person I was speaking with said that there was no other way to tell for sure what was wrong and that there was no option. I said that this didn't sound right to me and that I didn't understand why they couldn't just assume my diagnostic was right and do the work I was asking them to do. I said that they could replace the spark plug and coil and that if it didn't work that we could do a more thorough diagnostic from there... I felt like she was trying to pressure me to just agree with what she was saying, which I did after a couple of minutes, but more to just get out of the conversation and back to work than anything else... I felt that she was trying to upsell me and that she probably had direction to not accept people's self-diagnostics on their vehicles... To me, it should have been straight forward: a customer that comes in and says they want their coil and spark plug replaced on cylinder 4... that's what they should get done... without argument. If there are concerns that arise, then you discuss them and provide advice or guidance, you don't tell the customer what they have to do. A good service person works with you to manage expectations and deliver, to the best of their ability, a service experience that meets those expectations. By telling me what they have to do it diminished my experience to being very negative and leaves me feeling that I did not receive value for my money. At about 12:00 I received another call from City Ford - this time the person was very polite and she told me that all seven coils and plugs had to be replaced and that it would cost ~$1800 and even more if one of the plugs broke while they were trying to remove them. (which they said they are prone to do). This time she asked me what I wanted to do. I asked if the truck would run okay if just cylinder 4 was done and she put me on hold to ask the mechanic. She came back on and said that yes, it would but that "within two weeks another cylinder would be misfiring and I'd have to fix it". I asked her to proceed with just cylinder 4 and said I'd probably just sell the vehicle. (Though, now that I see how cheap it is to do myself or get a mechanic to do on the side, I'll just fix it). I had a similar issue in February of 2016 with my truck when I was getting an error code stating that cylinder 5 was misfiring. When I took the vehicle into City Ford that time they asked if I wanted them to "double-check" to make sure that a cylinder 5 misfire was in fact the issue or if I wanted them to just replace the coil and plug. I asked them to go ahead and re-diagnose it. City Ford did their diagnostic, confirmed that the issue was the coil and replaced the coil and spark plug for $499. I thought the price was high for a single spark plug and coil replacement but didn't feel overly taken advantage of. Now that I've done a bit more research however, it do feel they screwed me that time too. I can buy a new OEM coil from between $15 and $45 on RockAuto.com and a broken spark plug removal tool for $75 from them. Iridium spark plugs run around $6-$12 I could replace all eight of the coils and spark plugs in my engine myself for $250. Ford charged $500 for one cylinder ...$296.40 for labour ($156 of that is for diagnosis) plus $116.38 for a coil and $29.74 for a spark plug. I feel very frustrated about the situation and feel like I was especially screwed out of $156 for the diagnosis and think that their 1000% markup on parts is atrocious! My wife also feels slighted and that she wasn't listened to because she is a woman (even though the person she dropped the truck off to is a female)... After this experience with City Ford I will not use them again and do not recommend anyone to take their vehicle there. More
Warranty work on my diesal Went in for warranty work told the service advisory that to call if it wasn't cover by warranty, they change my oil and filters and charge me $200 whe Went in for warranty work told the service advisory that to call if it wasn't cover by warranty, they change my oil and filters and charge me $200 when I told them I just had one done 500km ago. And I was told that the mechanic dump my oil so I had to pay if I wanted my truck back and never explain the work that was done on the truck and after all that truck leaking oil. No more city ford going to denny Andrews More
The Service manager lied to my face The service is pretty good, although the service manager has once raised his voice at me and just recently lied right to my face. I called at 3:15 ask The service is pretty good, although the service manager has once raised his voice at me and just recently lied right to my face. I called at 3:15 asking for a courtesy car at 3:45, he said it would be no problem. Around 4:05 I was still waiting so I called him, He said he would call the driver and ask where he was. He told me the driver said he was still about 15 minutes away. The driver finally got there and he told me that as he walked into the service department the driver said "Oh I completely forgot about her, can you go get her?" and then he came immediately. I asked the service manager about this and he denied it. I told him what the driver had said and he continued to deny it. His behavior was such a turn off and I probably will never take my vehicle back to them..it's pathetic that he couldn't just own up to his mistake and apologize! More
Worst dealership ever So I know it's kinda late that I'm posting this since I bought my car about a year ago now but I thought I should share my insanely TERRIBLE EXPERIENC So I know it's kinda late that I'm posting this since I bought my car about a year ago now but I thought I should share my insanely TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! So a little less then a year ago I bought a loaded 2014 mustang GT C/S. Well there was snow on the ground so I said I didn't wanna be driving it on the salted roads n I wanted it delivered to me... No problem they did deliver... But... I was told it would be on a bed truck but they had some kid drive it out n he was nearly 2 hours late. Well fine nothing I could do so I parked her in the garage n gave the kid the keys to my old car. A few weeks later I rolled her onto the parking pad to clean her up good n there was salt and mud literally up to my roof n mud chunks dug into the carpet so fine I cleaned it up n that's when I noticed the massive dent in my bumper... And chips in my hood and my tire pressure gauge saying my driver side tire low. So I called the dealership n got them to fix it up n I had to drive thru the slush n snow anyway... They are supposed to give a rental vehicle of close to same value... I was put into an old ford focus base model that felt like the shocks were completely taken out complete junk! It was a few weeks later I finally got my car back n again muddy to the roof so I took her home n noticed the light for the low tire pressure was on again... I called the guy I went thru n he said he forgot to relay that at all... Lovely right?! So I started cleaning the car anyway n not only was there muddy boot prints in the drivers side but the passenger as well... AND the back seat! What were they taking it for test drives n joy rides not happy! So for a second time I had to shampoo and scrub my car n carpets clean. So I own 3 vehicles so I don't really drive the mustang... Like at all lol I'm always in my truck love my ram... So I have the car covered in the garage n I take it out onto the pad every now n then to clean it up n make sure everything looks n runs good... So my latest discovery I was cleaning the hood n beside my windows n noticed a little bump... They covered a chip up there but didn't even buff the thing flush... Lazy, incompetent and down right rude people there. I would NEVER recommend anyone EVER go to city ford for a car... Scammers n liers More

WORST DEALSHIRP I Bought a brand new Ford Focus from City Ford in 2013. Fast forward 2 years later and the car now drives worse than my clunker before this. Called to I Bought a brand new Ford Focus from City Ford in 2013. Fast forward 2 years later and the car now drives worse than my clunker before this. Called to have my car looked at and the service department was very rude, told me there are more than 40 people ahead of me to fix my transmission on my Focus as this is a huge problem for that year. Instead I decided to upgrade and get out of this crap car all together. I thought Ford would do more for me to keep my business as the first car I bought with them was horrible, very disappointing. I also happened to refer a co-worker whom ended up buying a vehicle. I called a few days later as they promote a referral reward if there is a successful purchase, unfortunately they have done everything in their power to find an excuse as to why this did not qualify. The sale rep who dealt with my friend was the mos unprofessional person i have ever come across. After listening to his horrible attitude I asked to speak with his manager who of course was not around at the time. I asked his name so I could follow up later as his attitude was unacceptable for someone working in the service industry, when I did ask he told me he did not know! I had to ask this man 20x or more for his managers name, he would just yell "I told you he will call". After telling him I will call back and ask for your manager he finally gave his name up. I do not know how this person works in a customer orientated industry. I would never refer another person to this dealership again. I feel horrible for sending my co-worker has she has had numerous problems with the used car she had bought and has had it less than a month. Honestly do yourself a favor and stay away from this dealership.. More

There was only one car available altogether and the sales person kept on lying about the cars on lot. A complete waste of time. The dealership was cramped with cars and barely there was enough room to walk around. Anyway, I ain't going here ever again. More
