CITY FORD OF EDMONTON- WASTES YOUR TIME AND FAILS TO COMMUNICATE HOW THEY ARE GOING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. My experience with City Ford has been nothing but frustrating. I took our Ford in on Friday Ju COMMUNICATE HOW THEY ARE GOING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. My experience with City Ford has been nothing but frustrating. I took our Ford in on Friday July 22nd, I had to leave work early for my 1pm appointment. I called ahead at 1215 and spoke to the service department where I was told I could come in early as they were slow and the job to replace the valve would take 1-1.5 hrs. After waiting for 45 minutes (while I assumed the car was being serviced) my keys were handed back to me and I was told that they lost the part that was ordered from the States, they would have to reorder another one and I was sent home. a few hours later Michelle from the Service Department called and said they had located the part (the one that was MISSING hours earlier) and I could come back next week, I re arranged my schedule with work and my trip out of the country so that I could take the car back to City Ford on Wednesday July 27th. I brought the car in at 6:48am Again, this should have been a quick job and after 1.5 hours I asked and was told the mechanic was just now under the hood, almost 3 hours later I was once again told they couldn’t take the car to be tested because the water pump needed to be replaced. Not a happy customer, I was told by Eric the mechanic in front of several other employees that the job would take 6 hrs and I would have the car back by end of day. Again I had to re arrange my work schedule and take time off to make it back to City Ford at 545. Not once during that entire day was anything communicated to me, they went ahead and replaced a belt with no communication, they charged for 9 hours of labor for the pump although I was told 6 and not one single person mentioned that they charge a minimum 9 hours. If there are minimum charges those should be properly communicated. You do not keep someone’s car and make decisions without finding out consent. Timing belt was replaced, there for I was charged for additional labor hours and parts. I am thoroughly not impressed. I was told I should be glad that they fixed the car in the time that they did. My bill was over $3000. It is entirely unheard of to replace parts in car without speaking to the owner. There was absolutely zero communication, no one provided an apology, and no one seemed to care. I would never purchase a vehicle nor have mine serviced here. More
