Dishonest from start to finish I called Carrefour 40-640 Toyota 2 weeks ago to ask about a 2012 silver Prius that seemed to be exactly what my husband and I have been looking for. I I called Carrefour 40-640 Toyota 2 weeks ago to ask about a 2012 silver Prius that seemed to be exactly what my husband and I have been looking for. I was transferred to Daniel Chouinard, the used car sales representative. I asked him several questions about the car, including whether it was certified under the Toyota Certified Vehicle program. He told me that it was. I asked about the car history report, which he told me was clean. I requested an appointment with Daniel for Saturday, as we work during the week, and we agreed to meet last Saturday at 11am. Daniel then asked if I would like to leave a $500 credit card deposit on the car in order to keep it from being sold before our appointment, and I agreed, My husband and I rented a car in order to drive the 40 minutes from our home to the dealership. If the Prius looked good, we were ready to buy that same day. We arrived at the dealership and were told that Daniel was on vacation. The staff laughed about the fact the he scheduled an appointment with us when he wasn't even in the office. After waiting about 10 minutes, the Assistant Sales Manager attended us. All went well at first: we looked at the car; we went for a test drive. The time came to look over the car's documents and the Assistant Sales Manager brought us to his office. Here things started getting odd. He went through the documents without ever handing them to us. To make a long story short, I finally asked firmly to see the folder and he handed it over and left the room. Looking over the papers, we noticed that the Certification was done a YEAR ago on the 2012 Prius, even though he had just told us that used Priuses fly off the lot. The signature line on the certification document was also not signed. The car had been on the lot for a year and upon closer inspection, the car's documents showed two different mileages. The Manager returned and when I asked him about the certification date, he became very agitated, then angry, then grabbed the folder away from us, closed it, and said that if we have doubts about the car, we shouldn't buy it and good day. He basically kicked us out of his office. On Monday, I called Daniel to ask for my deposit to be reimbursed and although he agreed, he still has not reimbursed me. It's hard to believe that people like this have jobs at all. It's really a shame, especially since we were literally ready to buy a car. This dealership was a very big disappointment. More
