NEW TRUCK PURCHASE - SOUTHGATE EDMONTON I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH JAMIE (THE OWNER) SINCE 1997 WHEN I BOUGHT MY FIRST NEW TRUCK . A YEAR LATER THE TRUCK WAS GIVING ME A LOT OF TROUBLE , AND I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH JAMIE (THE OWNER) SINCE 1997 WHEN I BOUGHT MY FIRST NEW TRUCK . A YEAR LATER THE TRUCK WAS GIVING ME A LOT OF TROUBLE , AND NEEDING MAJOR REPAIRS. JAMIE TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUE - I HAVE BOUGHT THREE NEW TRUCKS SINCE. I JUST RECEIVED MY NEW 2015 - 3500 HD - CREW CAB - DURAMAX. IT'S AN UNBELIEVABLE TRUCK. I TALKED TO DOUG IN PARTS TWO MONTHS AGO - TOLD HIM WHAT I WANTED ON THE TRUCK, AND ASKED WHAT ACCESSORIES WILL FIT ON IT. HE TOOK OVER FROM THERE. WHEN THE TRUCK CAME IN, I CALLED HIM ABOUT DOING THE ACCESSORIES, AND HE HAD THEM DONE THE SAME DAY. HE ALSO GAVE ME GOOD ADVICE ON A COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS TO DO TO IT. I'VE HAD TONS OF COMMENTS ON MY NEW TRUCK ALREADY. DOUG KNOWS HIS JOB VERY WELL, AND I HAVE ALL MY PARTS PURCHASED THROUGH HIM. I SEND LOTS OF PEOPLE TO SEE HIM FOR HIS EXPERTISE IN THE AUTO BUSINESS. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH COLLEEN WITH FINANCING ON MY LAST FEW TRUCKS. SHE TREATS ME WELL, AND PROVIDES GREAT RECOMMENDATIONS. I have been dealing with this dealership for years and the only reason why I do is because of scott ash. He is what every service department needs. Takes care of his customers like they are family and fri the only reason why I do is because of scott ash. He is what every service department needs. Takes care of his customers like they are family and friends. Scott is what makes the service department at south gate. Truth is if scott ever left I would have to find another dealership too use or follow him. Keep up the great work scott thanks for everything you have done for us as gmc owners. i have been dealing with Southgate since 2006 and since then have purchased 3 new vehicles and recommended many people that have bought new vehicles as well. The vehicle i have now is a 2011 2500hd desiel and i love the truck itself as i have custimized it with Dougs help like always. Unfourtantley this truck has been nothing but a dissapointment since day 1 with the DEF system. it has been in the shop for a total of almost 4 weeks since Dec.!!!! and more before that. This last time i was ready to sell it and buy a Ford or Dodge because i had enough. Fourtunatley, because of Southgate and the people i have delt with over the years kept me from doing so as we came up with a plan and put in the def delete kit and so far it is great. i continue to refer people there and i know i will be back to purchase my next vehicle for sure. Great Service! I have worked in the auto industry since 1998 and spend most of my working hours inside many different dealerships and the service from Southgate is a cut above the rest. My engine light was on and Onstar said that I had a couple cylinders misfiring. I booked an appointment and brought my SUV in at 8:30am. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and told the couple cylinders misfiring. I booked an appointment and brought my SUV in at 8:30am. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and told them that I lived in Leduc so I would need it for my drive home or would need to make other arrangements. They said 'I don't know why it wouldn't be done by the end of the day'. They called at 2:30pm and said the $480 quote they told me would be $900 due to having to take something out to get to the cylinders. I asked if they would be done by the end of the day and he said 'yes, it will be done by 5pm or 5:30pm. He called me half an hour later and told me they would need to keep it over night. I reminded him that I lived in Leduc and that I needed a way to get home as I didn't make any other arrangements since they told me twice that my vehicle would be ready by the end of the day. He seeemed annoyed and said he would have to go see if they could stop what they were doing and put it back together so I could bring it in the next morning which they ended up doing. The next morning, the guy I dealt with wasn't there and another one said that a gal was looking after his customers. He couldn't find her and after about 15 min, I said I needed to get to work and I just wanted to give him my keys. He finally found me in the computer and took my keys. When I returned to pick it up at the end of the day, there was someone spraying down the floor and it was back spraying a lot. He looked at me and didn't turn it off until one of the girls was yelling at him to turn it off so I could walk through. He turned it off and back on again before I walked through, unbelievable! The girl asked me to come to the office to pay and apologized for him but I still couldn't believe how ignorant that was. I have bought two vehicles (Montana and Enclave) from Southgate and I have used the service department many times. They are usually really great to deal with but this time I was really disappointed. The staff are very nice overall but they could have given me options such as a rental after they took my vehicle apart and weren't able to complete the work that day after I had asked about it twice. The guy washing the floor was the most annoying as that was just ignorant. I apologize for not providing names. I know a couple of them gave me their business cards but unfortunately I didn't keep them. Again, it's not that they weren't friendly, it was more the events and the way they dealt with them that weren't great or what I expect from Southgate. More
