I am writing to inform you about my dissatisfaction with my warranty service experience at Audi Capilano in North Vancouver, British Columbia. On August, 24, 2013 I had my car at the dealership to have my c my warranty service experience at Audi Capilano in North Vancouver, British Columbia. On August, 24, 2013 I had my car at the dealership to have my catalytic converter replaced under warranty because it was rattling. When I got the car back, that the air intake bracket which mounts onto the engine bay frame had both tabs broken off and was just hanging there. I went back to the dearlership to show them that they broke the bracket. The service person ordered a replacement bracket and I picked it up after a few days. Since it is a simple thing to install I figured I do it on my own, but when I tried to install it, I noticed that the hose that attaches to the bracket is too tight and it would break the tabs on the bracket again if I install it. So I brought it to Capilano Audi to have it installed. At the same time I told the service person that I noticed the engine cover feels to be lose. He said that is normal. I told him that it doesn't feel normal. He had a service person look at the engine cover and install the bracket. They installed the bracket and told me that the lid is ok. Once home, I removed the engine cover and saw that one of the rubber grommets was broken, cracked. Losing my trust in the dealership, I asked my friend to lift my car up at the body shop he works at to check the work that was done on the car. I was astonished what I found. Heat shield bolts were loose, shield was just about to fall off, one nut used to attach a brace underneath the car was an incorrect one, the oxygen sensor wires were twisted like crazy in addition to the cracked engine cover mount and air intake bracket. So in short, when I received my car from the dealership, it was in worse condition than when I brought it in for the warranty repair. To make it even worse, I went to Audi Capilano on October 16, 2013 to complain about the service. I wanted to talk to the service manager, but apparently he was busy, so I left my number and asked that he call me back. I haven't received a call back since. From what I see, Audi Capilano does not seem to care about its and Audi's customers, they deliver bad workmanship at a premium price. Audi keeps advertising that their factory trained technicians know the Audis the best, which surely doesn't seem to be the case. I took some picture of all the items and sent them to the General Manager of Capilano Audi, but the first thing he said was that he talked to the technician and he told him that they don't even have to remove those items which I am complaining about. It surely doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that one has to remove an oxygen sensor to reattach it to the new catalytic converter, or to remove a heat shield that protect a rubber boot from the catalytic converter, or that a brace right underneath the catalytic converter needs to be removed to remove the old and then install the new catalytic converter. The General Manager keeps on insisting that the things I am insinuating can't be true, i.e. he tells me that I am lying. I forwarded this matter to Audi Canada, but haven't heard back from them yet. I have asked for a contact where I can send my pictures to, so that they can determine if those items would have had to been removed or not. I would like to summarize the cost of the items that were involved: Labour, about 30min. Correct Nut for the brace, about 1.- Rubber Grommet for engine cover, about 10.- Undo oxygen sensor and untwist the wire, only labour Check torque on heat shield bolts, only labour I would strongly advice to us another Audi Dealership to service your car. Since my car is 8 years old, I have decided to trade in my car to another brand where I hope to receive better service and support from the dealers and the car manufacturer. I loved my Audi and still love the Audi brand, but there is a limit to brand loyalty, which I feel has been crossed. My Audi Dealership recommendation, if you want to have an Audi Dealership work on your car, is Audi of Richmond. Their workmanship is better and they have sufficient customer parking. More
