A TRULY FABULOUS EXPERIENCE I was looking for a convertible. I had tried out the Fiat but felt that it was really too small. I knew that Volkswagen had a couple of models avail I was looking for a convertible. I had tried out the Fiat but felt that it was really too small. I knew that Volkswagen had a couple of models available. Walked into the showroom and "fell in love" with a Candy White convertible. Tried out the EOS, and even though it was a beautiful car, felt it had way too much power for me. Brought my husband and he agreed with me and we purchased "Candy". VW just do NOT care anymore ? 2010 Jetta TDI develop intermittent fault within gear box causing to disengage gear when driving and return to normal operation required OFF-ON-START 2010 Jetta TDI develop intermittent fault within gear box causing to disengage gear when driving and return to normal operation required OFF-ON-START again. I've found 2010 Jetta recall # 74249 with very similar problem that I have: Recall Summary VOLKSWAGEN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 AND 2010 PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2008 AND AUGUST 2009. THE WIRING HARNESS OF A TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN THE DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX (DSG) MAY HAVE CONNECTOR WIRES THAT WERE INSUFFICIENTLY CRIMPED. WITH INSUFFICIENTLY CRIMPED CONNECTOR WIRES, A TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAS THE POTENTIAL TO FALSELY DETECT A HIGH GEARBOX OIL TEMPERATURE, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO ABRUPTLY SHIFT TO NEUTRAL. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE SELECTOR LEVER POSITION INDICATOR WITHIN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WILL FLASH. IN ADDITION, THE "DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL" INDICATOR LIGHT WILL BE ILLUMINATED, ALERTING THE DRIVER TO APPLY THE BRAKES. Consequence THE ABRUPT SHIFT TO NEUTRAL COULD LEAD TO A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. Remedy VOLKSWAGEN WILL REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 20, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLKSWAGEN AT 1-800-822-8987. UPDATE June 06, 2014 My car has been inspected by two independent VW/AUDI experts and they can NOT confirm that is indeed "magnetronic", assembly that includes TCM computer. In fact, they did NOT find any fault in my car. Communication to TCM module is all OK. Furthermore, car has NOT fail for last 6 days ! For now, I will NOT change TCM, but for sure will look for new car. UPDATE June 07, 2014 That was good till yesterday and car has failed badly several times. Now I do not have other choice than $2000 TCM assembly without warranty that this will indeed clear this problem. I would expect a little more from VW cars in general, however I would like to stress that this is NOT Bramgate VW fault and I do apology Bramgate service staff for hush words in this review. I will update in 2-3 weeks of the result. More
