In winter, my SUV slid on the ice and hit a snowbank, which damaged the lower part of the bumper. I filed a claim with MPI in Manitoba, and the dealership recommended Birchwood Collision in Winnipeg. While there, I noticed another customer was very dissatisfied with their paint job. Regardless, Birchwood Collision ordered the necessary parts and installed a new bumper. When I picked up my vehicle, I noticed the lights weren’t working properly and had to bring it back for them to fix the issue. A week later, a dash warning appeared indicating a problem with the electronic brake—an issue I’d never had before. When I called Birchwood Collision about it, they denied any responsibility, insisting it wasn’t related to their work, despite my explanation that this was a new problem. Two to three weeks after the repair, the wrapped grille at the bottom of the bumper detached. I returned to the shop, and they initially agreed to fix it. After about a week, they called saying the repair was completed, but the grille was still not properly installed. I pointed this out to the staff, who admitted it wasn’t correct and said they’d look at it again. Two weeks later, they told me the grille wasn’t covered under the insurance claim. When I questioned this—since the grille was located just a couple of inches from the damaged area—they advised me to contact MPI. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, they claimed they had reported the issue to MPI and that I should wait for a response. When I followed up with MPI, I learned Birchwood Collision had reported the grille damage as “wear and tear” without telling me. I found their conduct dishonest, irresponsible, and unprofessional. They advertise a warranty on their repairs but avoid taking responsibility and always make excuses instead of fixing issues properly. I would never take my vehicle back to them and strongly recommend avoiding this shop and their misleading practices. More

Greeted by smiling faces, made promises they did not keep, would not surrender keys for me to inspect the work until I signed the paper and paid the deductible. Don't understand how this business is still operating. They took my car for a joy ride and caused more damage to my car and didn't fix the dent I originally had requested to be repaired. This was the worst experience. I dealt with Julia Gordo-Molteni and had a horrible experience. She doesn't return calls or follow up on items she has promised. She said things were done that hadn't been. She lied about sending reports to MPI on my behalf and she became very rude and argumentative when questioned about the discrepancies of what she had texted and what was the truth. I have zero trust in her ability to represent a client and would never deal with them again as a result. She needs to find a new career where customer service and honesty doesn't matter.... More
Took over two weeks to repair my vehicle. Should have been a four day job. Had to rent a car during this time. Called a couple of times to find out what was happening and no return call from them. Found "new problems" at the same site of the damage it was taken in for BUT didn't include it in the quote for MPI (clearly didn't assess properly or forgot to include it) therefore expected me to payout of pocket for further repairs. They have had my car for three months to replace a broken wing mirror damaged in a theft. Unfortunately not the first or second time we've had trouble with Birchwood...should have known better than to use their collision center. They will receive no more money or sales from any of our friends or family, even if it means we have to leave the province to purchase our next car. Beware, cannot be trusted!!! More
