Poor customer service. After rain leaking into the door of my daughters Golf she could not get the window up. She tool it to Volkswagen ( Bill Matthews) and during diagnosis After rain leaking into the door of my daughters Golf she could not get the window up. She tool it to Volkswagen ( Bill Matthews) and during diagnosis the other window came down because they were both controlled by the same switch. They had to order a switch which would take a few days so they suggested she rent a car at her expense. I spoke with a manager and he asked service to work on the window that came down during diagnosis and get it back up which they did( why didn’t they do this in the first place.?) She then drive her car with one window taped up until the part came in. They replaced the switch but left lots of pieces of tape on her door. I asked them why they didn’t clean off the tape and they said that they didn’t put it there so they didn’t have to remove it. I think that is pretty crappy service for a garage charging the prices they charge. More
Terrible I went to get my headlights fixed because the light produced from them on the highway at night was extremely poor. I also had a problem with my windsh I went to get my headlights fixed because the light produced from them on the highway at night was extremely poor. I also had a problem with my windshield washer fluid, I would add windshield washer fluid to the car, then 2 or 3 days later, it would all leak out. Brought the car to the dealership. Picked the car up a day later and they said there was a hose loose associated with the windshield washer fluid and they had fixed this problem. They told me they had adjusted the front headlights and it was fixed. After using the car for about 2 days, I knew the lights were just as bad as before and the windshield washer fluid continued to leak out. NOTHING WAS FIXED. Complete waste of time and money. Would not recommend this dealership. More
Worst dealership repair ever Never ever ever go there spend the money some where well anywhere better...they changed my warrenty part that was fine drove my tiguan 2 km check engi Never ever ever go there spend the money some where well anywhere better...they changed my warrenty part that was fine drove my tiguan 2 km check engine light came back on when back the rescanned it same code came up told me it must be something different and had to pay 6 hrs labour at 120 an hr to find the problem...I declined the service...i live 9 hrs away from my closet dealer which is bill Mathews... I smelt fuel when i left but i knew the part the changed they had to remove fuel line on Engine so figured just excess fuel spill.... I drove 9 hrs home still smelt fuel pop the hood and my fuel line is dripping on to my transmission leaking from the intake so i called back and hey guess what its my problem as I should of checked before i left... So yeah 900 dollars later and at ok tire great service here in stephenville nl its all fixed...never ever ever go to bill matthews I would not even let them fix my wheelbarrow... More
EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE I heard the service was poor but gave them the benefit of doubt until I had my own experiences. I had my car there twice for a warranty part that didn't come in the first time and the second time it was the wrong part. They didn't tell me they removed the old part. Almost a year later I decided to go to another dealer but that dealer charged me to replace the part because the old one wasn't in the car, it was removed by Bill Mathews. I contacted Volkswagon Canada who said they would investigate and possibly reimburse me but they had to contact Bill Mathews Volkswagon first. The dealer lied saying that I knew and that they told me if I went somewhere else it wouldn't be covered. What xxxxxxxx! If they actually said that would I be stupid enough to go somewhere else without the old part and pay for it, duh. Volkswagon Canada believed their lies and don't value the customer, now I have to pay for their mistake. They got paid for a part they didn't replace. Not to mention my sunroof trouble which they said only needed lubrication. I found out at the other dealer that the motor needed replacing. I also agree they over charge because they wanted to charge me a half hour labour to screw on an antenna. It took me less then 2 mins to put on myself. Now that's service for you. No more volkswagons for me and I'll let everyone know. More
I find that everytime that we put the 2011Jetta in for service we are always getting hit up for something extra. Just recently we heard a noise in the front end, returned it for service, they found the pr service we are always getting hit up for something extra. Just recently we heard a noise in the front end, returned it for service, they found the problem, it was a piece of plastic liner under the car that they say must have got caught in snow or something. Anyway they charged almost a $100 ($98 something) to cut away this piece of plastic. Any other dealership that I dealt with did not charge for something like this. I find this dealer nickle and dimes over everthing, always trying to get money out of ypou. Had an oil change and some inspection that they said we needed, it costed $250. Always trying to get money out of you and nickle and diming is a major turn off. We will not have another Volkswagen, at least from this dealership. More
