Good Sales Department but Very Poor Service Department First off, in spite of my poor rating, the Sales Department (Kyle MacIsaac) has never been anything but outstanding and accommodating. They have been First off, in spite of my poor rating, the Sales Department (Kyle MacIsaac) has never been anything but outstanding and accommodating. They have been helpful, knowledgeable and always tried to make their customers (me) happy. In fact I have purchased 3 different brand new Toyota's at this location in the past 4 years. Service: After several experiences with these guys I must say it was some of the worst human interaction with a business I have ever had. The service guys generally act grumpy, get mad if you question them, always complain that they are "too busy", refuse to give an estimate of time ("e're really busy, when we get to it"), do idiotic things like check your car in immediately before lunch and then leave (even when they know you're in a rush and waiting right there). One issue I had a while ago I complained to the service guy about the service so the service manager calls me... instead of looking for a solution or to listen to my complaint he gets mad at me. The only way I got it resolved was complaining through sales department which facilitated with upper management. New example of their poor service: I phoned them yesterday to ask if I can bring in my Venza to have the light bulb changed. They said sure, they would squeeze me in. I took my Venza there (more than a two hour drive for me) to get the headlight changed (HID lights are not supposed to be changed by the operator according to manual as they can be dangerous). They took my car in for 45 minutes then drove it out of the shop - unfixed! They told me the bill is for .9 hrs (impossible to work 54 minutes in a 45 minute time frame but I guess they follow some data sheet somewhere). Not to mention I was there the whole time and 10 minutes of the time the car was in the parking lot waiting (so they only had it 35 min), when i checked into the shop window part way through nobody was looking at the car or even close to the car). After 45 minutes they returned the car to say that I "need a new lightbulb". Suggested that it will cost $300 to order from Toronto (take a few days) as they don't stock HID lights. I have no idea what they did for 45 minutes to determine I need a new headlight since I brought it to them saying "I need a new headlight". They change the $0.50 fuse (charging me $2.50) which I already told them I "had changed" and "it keeps blowing because the light is blown". So in effect, they took 45 minutes of my life (plus 4 hrs of driving , 2 there and 2 back) to tell me i need a new lightbulb, which is what I told them both on the phone the day before and in person when bringing int he car. Then they give me a bill for $121.25 to tell me exactly what I already knew when I dropped it off without actually fixing the reason I brought it there. This is fraudulent in my opinion. They billed me for 50 minutes when checking the headlight and fuse is a 5-10 minute job for anyone (even non-mechanics like me). Second they could have saved me the bother when I called by saying something like, "oh, we don't stock those type of headlights". This is nothing more than highway robbery. And unfortunate to say, not the first time for me at this dealer's Service Department. I am so disgruntled I do not plan to return to this dealer ever. My apologies to the sales department, you do a good job, but in spite of your honourable efforts, I cannot support a business enterprise that treats people like the Service Department does.... the service department stinks!
